My first impression walking Into the store was that it was quiet and it made me feel awkward. There was also a female mannequin at the front door which I thought was a real person. It made me laugh though which made it less silent. The store itself was clean, neat, and organized. I purchased my twin sized mattress for $49. With tax and a $10 fee, it was roughly $64 dollars which is still inexpensive for the quality of the mattress. I found it to be super comfortable making it easier to fall asleep. Customer service - I was greeted by one of the guys who also helped me out. He was friendly and straight to the point. I was able to be in and out of the place within minutes. Once you purchase the mattress, they will tell you to drive to the back so that someone can assist you in putting the mattress into your vehicle. So today I called into the store requesting to know if they had any Cal King Box Springs. I was told they did and they they would deliver today. I was excited and asked if I can just order online for them to deliver. The representative said that he did receive my online. Due to Covid I had them drop off the mattress in my garage. I go to inspect the box spring. It turns out I was delivered a queen. I call the store back and another representative answers the phone. I explain the issue and the mistake that was made. He explains to me that this should serve as a life lesson about not always being able to get what we want. I told him that an unacceptable answer. He asks what would make it right. I told requested they deliver the actual product I paid for or give me a refund. He said the only way for me to get a refund is to personally drop off the mattress back at their store. I explained that I made the payment through PayPal and will be disputing the charge through them. They are more than welcome to pick up their product. The representative resorted to using the F-word and hanging up. I highly recommend you just look elsewhere for your products. The level of unprofessionalism and the lack of care towards their customers tells you about their products. The box spring I received was very cheaply made and packaged. I had guests coming into town so I was on the hunt for a sofa bed to convert my office into a guest room. It was proving to be so difficult to find something modern, low in height, and inexpensive. Finally I settled on one from CB2 which was the perfect size and came in tons of fabric options. Only problem was that it was $1600 and 3-4 weeks out. My boyfriend suggested we try this place as a last resort before splurging. The shopping experience isn't much in terms of ambiance, but the customer service was great! The first style we saw when we walked in was a regular sofa that was very similar to the CB2 style - these guys said they can make any of their sofas into beds and they had hundreds of fabric choices. Here's the most incredible part: they could deliver it in 2 weeks for $600 with a memory foam mattress. Literally a THOUSAND dollars less than I was about to spend! Done! We were in and out of there in less than 20 minutes with a new sofa bed on the way. These guys really pulled through and delivered the couch a few days early to make sure our guests would have their own bed. I'm sad to say I took off 2 stars because after they delivered it, I realized they left two sizable nicks in my walls that need to be speckled and repainted. I'm bummed but at the very least, even with repairing my wall, I paid a ridiculously low price for the sofa. This is a great place to design your own custom furniture. My husband and I searched for the perfect couch for weeks but could not find something that was perfect for us. We wanted a light gray sectional that was well crafted with firm cushions, modern low arms and fabric that was soft but textured. Oh, and we also wanted a reasonably priced couch, less than $1000 if possible. Somehow, Sofas 98 managed to make our dreams come true! Adam is the most laid back, funny, thoughtful, anti-sales guy you will ever meet. He never tried to "sell" us a couch, but provided all the information we needed to make an informed decision. He is one cool cat. At Sofas 98, you can pick your couch, pick your fabric, even change the firmness of the cushion. After browsing for about 30 minutes, we could not decide on the light light gray or the medium gray. Adam was nice enough to let us take the entire fabric swatch thingie home, compare it with our walls and floors, and call him back with our final fabric decision the next day! He gave us a fair price (less than $1000 including tax and delivery) for our entire three piece sectional and everything about placing the order was hassle-free. Only downside is that the couches take a few weeks to be made and delivered so don't come here if you need something ASAP but I am a strong believer that good things are worth waiting for. Floor Models are way cheap if you are interested. 2. They make custom made sofas on site. 3. You can choose over a 1,000 fabrics to have on your sofa. If you don't like a fabric, bring your own... they only charge you for labor and materials. 4. Sales guys are super nice and not pushy what so ever 5. you can always price negotiate. 6. Custom made sofa retails for over 1,800 and my queen size mattress & Box bring is about another 500... i got everything for 1,200. I will try to post up pictures. 7. They are quick. If you want a custom made sofa, this is the place to go. I visited Ikea and Living Spaces, and tried to fit the sofas to my house's living room by measurement. But their sofas were either too big or too small. I could not find anything that would fit. I also like to lounge on the sofa when I watch a movie, which requires a seat depth of 40" or more. Most of the sofa had very short seat depth, which I did not like. I visited this place based on the Yelp review, and these guys came through for me. I am an engineer, so I drew the design on my CAD software and show the 3D drawing to Adam at the office. He said it is no problem. He also provided very good advice to revise my drawing. 3 weeks later, they finished the sofa based on my 3D drawing and a photograph that I found on the web. The Sofa's fabric is velvet navy blue with creme vanilla piping. My advice is to provide accurate measurements and a good photograph to indicate the style. I am glad that I provide accurate measurement of the height, length, thickness, softness, and seat depth. The sofa now fits like a glove into my living room corner. Now I cannot get the kids off the sofa because they like it so much. My other advice is raising the sofa legs high enough so my iRobot auto vacuum cleaner can go under the sofa. Otherwise if the iRobot cannot go under, you have to clean the sofa underside floor manually, which is an arduous chore. read more

We were a bit leery after reading some of the negative yelp reviews but after shopping around many custom sofa shops all around Orange County, the employees at Sofa 98 were the nicest (no pressure sales techniques and they were able to do every modification we came up with) and they also had the best prices so we decided to order a custom sofa (L-shaped) and a love seat. We had TONS of custom modifications (everything from the size, to the arm width, to the cushions, the pillows, the sofa height, the backrest slope, the legs style and we even had them order us a custom fabric they don't normally carry). Rolph at Sofa 98 was extremely knowledgeable and helpful! He had an "anything you want is possible" attitude and he really cared about creating us our perfect sofa. I also dealt with Adam who was also very helpful. When we received our sofas, the pillows (which is the term used for the cushions that you rest your back against) had buttons and we had ordered them without buttons. No problem! Sofa 98 was very nice about it and didn't give us a hard time at all. They apologized and said they would remake the pillows ASAP (at no additional cost). They ended up having to order more fabric but they ensured that it was the same dye-lot so the pillows would match the sofas that they already made. Sofa 98 even placed a rush order on the fabric so that we wouldn't be without the pillows for very long. Sure enough, we received our pillows today and they are perfect and the fabric matches exactly. Considering that our multitude of other custom modifications were done perfectly, it wasn't really a big deal that the pillows weren't correct - especially considering the nice, prompt and professional way that Sofa 98 dealt with the issue. We had 2 different sets of delivery drivers (2 guys each time) and all 4 guys were very nice, professional and helpful. Overall, I highly recommend Sofa 98! When we need to buy another sofa, Sofa 98 will be our first and only stop. We will refer all of our friends and family here! I was shown so many different samples and was able customize the whole sofa down to the firmness of the seat. The price was too good to be true, even cheaper than an ikea sofa, but for way better quality! The only thing we would have wished we could do is change the color and shape of the legs but that's a minor thing compared to the savings you get overall. Don't let the name turn you off! I would never have thought of dropping by to buy a sofa here. Come on, 98$ sofa? 49$ mattress? It's just not an appealing name to me. Luckily I did some research and Yelp and some some reviews that people wrote about custom made sofas. Now that is more my style. It's been almost two years since I bought the couch and I just realized I never left a review. So figured I should write one in case someone else was in my boat and wanting something customized. I'll upload a pic after i'm done. I had some ideas for a couch that I really wanted and a certain configuration and I just could not find it anywhere. I was flexible on the size but had a specific size in mind. And I was looking for some shade of white / grey as well. I brought my ideas in and talked with Adam. Gave him the exact dimensions. We went through leather swatches and I picked out a color I really liked. We did real leather on all seating surfaces and vinyl on non-seating and you can't really tell the difference. I also got an ottoman with storage with vinyl. The price - a lot cheaper than I could have picked up anywhere else. And it was made to my order. Exactly how I wanted. One thing that was a little annoying was the couch took forever and a day to get made. Ordered on 4/30/16 and delivered early July 2016. It's what happens when you order a custom leather couch though - the leathers have to be shipped out and if that gets delayed the whole project gets delayed. Maybe if you go in expecting a two month waiting period it's okay but if you are told three weeks and it turns into two months that is big pain in the butt. I think he threw in the ottoman for free for the troubles though and at least I had my old couch the whole time. Or maybe they took to dispose of my old couch for free. I think that's what they did for my troubles. In any case if you are looking for a custom couch check them out for sure. read more

We also LOVE the table they ordered for us, which we originally saw on the Wayfair app, but here, it was at a more fair price than the app, which we are so thankful to them for. LoL The reason I just HAD to have this bed is because I slept on one at a Hotel a while back and fell in love with it, the bed. LoL. The Teddy mattress is AMAZING!! It's like falling asleep in the arms of the most gentle giant Teddy Bear ever! Hence the name "Teddy Mattress". The material of the mattress is of faux fur, just like that found on a stuffed Teddy Bear. Just so soft and cozy!! The bed also comes with a warranty as well. Adam, my sales associate ensured me if I have ANY issues with the bed, let them know and it'll be taken care of because the maker of the bed stands by his merchandise and wants all of the Teddy customers to be happy. Now let me share this with those who are interested. If you have a bad back, this is NOT the bed for you. It is WAAAAAAY soft so there is no support for your back, not unless you sleep with a pillow under your back, which I do sometimes. I have to tuck a pillow under my back because the mattress is so soft I sink right into the pillow top....LOL. But when I fall asleep, I sleep just like a baby. While our sectional couch looks pretty good, there are issues with the finished product and we had some communication problems with the company along the way. The ordering process is pretty cool. You can customize the width, depth, fabric, firmness, and more to get it exactly how you want. So, after an easy and pressure free ordering process we were told that our couch would be delivered within 2 1/2 weeks before Christmas. While this delivery date seemed ambitious, we assumed they knew what they were doing. Here's a quick summary of what ensued. 2 1/2 weeks comes so I call to see how it's going and I'm told that the fabric is on back order and that they'll get the couch delivered on the 27th. No problem. I call on the 27th and I'm told they'll try to do the 30th, but the 2nd at the latest. I call on the 2nd I'm told the 4th. I call on the 4th and I'm told, "No the order slip says the 5th". At one point I actually thought that they were just screwing with me and I quickly realized nobody knew what was going on and they were just throwing out arbitrary numbers. But, what are you going to do? They have your couch and they have your money. All I could do was just try to be nice and hope that eventually the couch would get delivered. When we finally did receive our couch it was not exactly how we ordered it. It was missing the button tufting on all of the back cushions, it was missing the round bolster pillows, and it didn't have the padding along the whole backside of the couch as we discussed when ordering. Was I surprised? After all the issues with the delivery, not really. What did surprise me was how quickly they fixed these issues. After sending the couch back with the delivery guys that night around 7:00pm, they had the couch back to us with everything fixed by around 3:00pm the next day. That was an impressive turnaround! With the price we paid for our sectional I was never under the allusion that we would be getting a high quality piece of furniture, but I did expect all of the couch legs to actually touch the ground, which, unfortunately a few of them don't. That can't be good. One star off for screwing up the delivery time. One star off for screwing up the order. One star off because a few legs of the sectional don't even touch the ground. One star added back on because they quickly resolved the issues in a friendly manner. Would I order another couch from Sofas 98? Well, I must be a glutton for punishment because the answer is...maybe. read more

We just received our custom couch today and I'm in love! The process was Extremely easy and the staff was very knowledgeable. Based on Yelp reviews, my husband and I decided to try this store. While the exterior lacks curbside appeal, don't let that deter you. Our experience, from beginning to end, was positive...and we got CUSTOM-MADE furniture to our specifications at a great price. First: Friendly, low pressure sales staff! We wandered about debating which design we liked and mulled over the various fabric possibilities with a sales person at an accessible distance, answering our many questions. Then, it was simply placing the order that would be manufactured on site. We bought a matching couch, love seat, an ottoman with storage, and a dog bed for our 80 lb Doberman (basically another couch cushion but much thicker than the usual marketed dog bed). Manufacture took about 4 weeks. Delivery was on schedule. Woot. We're pleased with the sturdy weight and clean design of the finished product. We went with a solid color turquoise fabric, and I'm having a great time switching out throw pillows with different complimentary colors. The ottoman is the same height as the couch and love seat, so we can move it around to also function as an extension, like a chaise lounge that's popular nowadays. Great place to buy a sofa. No fuss. No frill. HUGE selection and samples. They build on site. Pick your size, style, fabric and go! If you can wait the build time, this is the way to go. Purchased a sofa and a chair for our new office space. Products were delivered as promised and on schedule. We will not ever fight over sofas again at a large chain store. My only complaint is that you have no idea walking in how much work goes into building and designing a couch, especially when you have to do it with your partner. Fabric color, fabric feel, how long, chase lounge, connected, dis-connected, arm rests, cushion softness, cushion depth, it is like planning a wedding. But, let me tell you. I came here over 12 years ago for my first couch and it did me good! I went all over the place, Jeromes, Levits, Living Spaces, Ma and Pop shops, target, Ikea, you name it- i went there for my next sofa. Besides the struggle of designing, they promise 10 days and make it 14 but I already knew that going in and it was worth the extra 4 days.
