I've been coming to Harborside San Leandro for a few years, as well as the Oakland location since 2018 and I've always had great experiences. The staff has consistently been friendly, welcoming, and professional. Budtender Lisa was also very helpful during my visit today. Unfortunately, my most recent visit today was a bit weird. When I arrived, I met a new female security guard I hadn't seen before. I tried to introduce myself and asked her name -- something I've done with other staff members over the years just to be polite and friendly. She seemed uneasy and said she didn't feel comfortable sharing her name because she also hasn't seen me there before and I might "look her up.". Why would I do that? That's a weird response. That interaction made me feel awkward and misunderstood. My only intention was to be respectful, as I always try to be. I completely understand that everyone has different boundaries and comfort levels, but the situation left me feeling very unwelcome, which was disappointing after so many years of positive visits. I made my purchase, walked out the door said to the security guard 'have a good day miss'. I usually fist bump all the security guards I have met, not this one. I want to apologize if I made her uncomfortable, sure that truly wasn't my intention. I'll just stick to the Oakland Harborside location from now on, I really appreciate all the positive experiences I've had here over the years and want to thank Denise and the team for that. read more

I stopped by because I purchased a stizzy pod instead of a throw away pen and needed to get a stizzy battery. It was so easy and quick to get in. It was my first time visiting and it took less than a minute to get me checked in! As soon as I was inside I was greeted by the kindest and most helpful budtender who was able to get me exactly what I needed. The battery was only about 20$ and the whole interaction took about 5 minutes. I love the decor and ambiance of Harborside! The open concept, amazing art, greenery and organization gave a unique cafe/loft vibe. Prices seemed reasonable and I was even given a stash jar with my battery purchase for free! I *USED* to come here because the employees were friendly and it was convenient. But then, they'd constantly be out of what I wanted. I kept coming. Then my wife went in and asked for something comparable to what I usually get (X-Tabs 50mg). The budtender made a recommendation and my wife bought it because they're the professionals, right?? Well no. They sold her CBG tablets, and we did not notice until we got home. We called and explained what happened. We bought what they advised, we noticed they made the ABSOLUTE WRONG recommendation, and it remained unopened. Their answer? "Though Shit." No returns, exchanges, or refunds. EVEN IF THEY RECOMMEND AND SELL YOU THE WRONG THING! I would've accepted an exchange for the exact same product but WITH THC (same price), or a refund, or even an equivalent store credit to compensate for the erroneous recommendation/sale. We have spent *SO MUCH* money here. And they DO NOT CARE. I'd understand if WE just simply bought the wrong thing. But they said "Yes, this (a CBG tablet with 2 mg THC) is yes same thing as that (a Sativa 50 mg THC Tablet), now put in your debit card PIN." They f'd up, but they won't do anything about it. What? Harborside location in San Leandro? I did not know that. I have only known the Oakland and San Jose location. Well now they have my support. Remember Support Local Business. Small location in comparable to the Oakland and San Jose locations but if you live in San Leandro, why not?. Location is nice and plenty of parking. No ghetto location here. Parental Unit's orthopedic gave the OK to start using oil or balms for her recent knee replacement surgery to start healing the muscles and helps with lessening the tightness in the knee area. Being the good daughter that I am I suggested to try CBD/THC balms rather than the basic baby oil or hemp products off Amazon. I treated myself as well to their infused cbd/thc chewable gummies. She recommended that if the Parental Unit was to try it while she is recovering, to try it slowly and she gave me advised on how to start her slowly on it. BUT Sorry Parental Unit -no no no for you. Special shout out to Mary-Ann for answering all my questions I had and being super helpful. A shout out as well to the security guard. Friendly and helpful as well. YES, we will be back. I've been a Harborside customer since they were only in Oakland--over 20 years. Mostly I got great service, but the way San Leandro is run, I'm never sure how it's gonna be. I guess I'd call the experience inconsistent from one visit to another. Case in point: about a year ago, I got such a good deal on a purchase, I wondered if they were making any profit at all, The next time, I felt I'd been over charged. A month ago, I got another great deal, so I took the receipt from that purchase with me today and asked "Denise" if I could get a repeat. "Oh, no, you can't because you made the order from Weedmaps and we gave you a big discount. We can only do that one time." Huh? What finally happened, after all the back and forth, was I walked out of the store with half--HALF as much merchandise--for the same price as last time. In other words, I paid twice as much for what I got today. Same product, twice the price! Not the best customer experience in my opinion. They're lucky I'm in a generous mood and giving them two stars. One and a half would be more like it. ; - ) read more

Had a slight set of issues the past few times I came in due to a lack of customer service, and a defective Dibs cart & Denise took care of me, fully rectifying the situation with compassion and understanding, even if she didn't care I felt like she did which means the world in customer service. What's going on over there?!? The cashier guy stole $75 bucks from me! first off, I used to really like this place. the workers are always nice, helpful and chipper; all but one. He's the short hair, swarthy, kinda short guy. he's straight up mean and dismissive to me. for example, he tells me to go grab my own products if I order online. everyone else gets to have them waiting at the register, but he tells me to "go get it yourself." I don't know why. but it just makes me feel like I'm not welcome there, you know? well, two days ago I'm trying to pick up something, but he charges me the wrong amount at the register; he even says later that the system glitches and doesn't add the discounts correctly all the time. so I reorganize my order on the mobile app and pay through janepay, and the total comes to $12 less. easy fix, small thing, right? well, I never got my cash back. so I'm out the $75 cash and kinda jonesing for my money back. my janepay went through for the $61, corrected price by him. well this morning they refunded me $61 of my janepay instead of my $75 cash. WTF. I don't even have a receipt for the $75 charge! All I have is my receipt for my legitimate $61 purchase. But that seems to be thrown out somehow. so, ya. is it worth it to go somewhere and have a cashier just totally work against you when you're just trying to go home after a long workday? it's fucking exhausting is what it is. it's not worth the drama of having to deal with that cashier guy. and I feel burned getting my hard earned cash stolen and those $12 pocketed by that guy. this feels like back before regulations in the 1990's, when slanging was shady. I thought we got civilized about it, not adversarial and corrupt. and, its a damn shame is what it is. read more

They literally FORCE you to needlessly carry a WIRE basket to enter, even though one is only getting 2 pre-rolls. Ridiculous. I suffer muskoskeletal problems which do not allow me to carry ANYTHING. Since they had a hiring event, there are no experts or anyone that can give you a solid recommendation. Harborside used to be reliable place for good advice and cared about customers, offered holistic healing programs, etc now it's CVS but even worse with people that don't know the basics or the products. It's a money grab, even the manager just guesses. Who hired these people who don't know anything and thought it would be a good idea to represent the brand and serve customers so poorly? For Yelp's Big Night In, I'm posting a slightly different review. We've been suffering from some post-cancer-related pain and neuropathy so needed some cannabis remedy, pain-relief and healing. Harborside fit the bill perfectly. It's a new location so only those with a health-related referral can purchase. Either you bring your doctor's letter or you can go online to their website to get a referral for a fee. Huge parking lot and lots of instructions for social distancing, mask-wearing and availability of disinfectant dispensers. The space is very big and airy, super clean and spacious, and just a nice welcoming vibe. They had a nice range of edibles (which was what we were looking for) and the usual joints. But they also have a cute little nursery for cannabis plants! Prices seemed reasonable depending on the brand of what you're looking for. But the best part was the service and assistance! The girl who helped us spent a good 15 mins with us explaining everything and answering our numerous questions very patiently and was so friendly! That made it so professional and welcoming. We got a small can of gummies (9:1 CBD:THC ratio) based on her recommendation to give it a try if it helps and then come back for other more potent formulas if it does. It worked very well after only 1 sampling during the big night in. Got a good restful sleep and some pain relief. Will be back to this Harborside location soon for another purchase. But heard they will be allowing recreational users as well once they get that license. Not sure how well that will affect the vibe but hopefully not too much. read more
