I should have gotten that as my main dish lol. I got the chicken picatta pasta which I usually love but this time it was bland and lacked flavor. I told my server my thoughts about the pasta and she did nothing! She did not offer a different dish or refund it even though I barely ate it. We used to come in often as we live very close. Came in today for a very quick lunch. They only had Buffet which was fine because we were in a rush to get to a movie. The server got both of our drinks wrong (mine just being a Dr Pepper she never brought and my husbands a specific margarita that she just got wrong) then our kids 3 and 4 getting lemonade. The Buffet was okay. We had to wave the server down for our check, she never refilled water, and they were SLOW. She mostly stood by the front door looking at it. No idea. My 4 year old is completely GTube fed and doesn't swallow. He sometimes will try and specifically today he tried to swallow one of my cut up grapes from the buffet and a small bite of cookie. . First time here... It's definitely a sports bar (not a place to have quiet conversation). Our server Alexis was super, very sweet and attentive. The queso was good...the Chile lime tostadas that come with it are not. Chile lime chips sound delicious, but these definitely weren't. Luckily they had regular tortilla chips, too. My date really loved the Monte Cristo and said he'd get it again. I got the Hot Chick Club without the hot (left out the buffalo sauce for my preference). It was really good. The sweet potato fries were disappointing but not terrible. I still ate some (would be a shame to let the sweet potatoes lives be for nothing)...but they were just kinda on the hard side and almost too sweet like maybe something was added. So I decided to saunter out of my hotel and go get a quick bite to eat late night after a work conference. I was pleasantly surprised walking into hard count! I wanted to get a feel for some delicious Austin Texas style cooking. That's exactly what I received! On top of good old, southern hospitality. The bartender was in one word, phenomenal, he makes awesome drinks, but more importantly he has the Savoire fair going for him. he is personable, calling every single person at the bar by their name, making you feel welcome, and he even made me feel so good about sitting as I waited for my to go order, that I decided to stay put and have my dinner at the bar! I'm a Philly girl and decided that I wanted to try out the Texas fare nachos and I was so happy I did. It was a little spicy with amazing shredded beef, amazing beans and cheeses melted throughout. Every bite had so much flavor to it. In addition, they had live music playing outside, a full crowd inside and out, and I even made a few friends along the way! This is a great atmosphere to come get something to eat. It's a full meal or a quick bite. The restaurants, atmosphere rustic and feels like you just stepped inside of Texas saloon. It was good, it wasn't bad... I need a 3.5. We stayed at the Sheraton right there for a GALA and hit up Hard Count both for late night drinks and again for brunch. It wasn't exactly what I expected. I'll admit I didn't look into it too much but we have eaten at the sushi place there a few times and I'd seen pictures of HC's food, I just assumed it was a nice restaurant. It's not, it's a sports bar....which is fine, just not what I was hoping for. Anyways our server Friday night was fantastic, we chose to sit outside to escape the bar, it was freezing but with the heaters and cute outdoor space it was great. We ordered the Cuban nachos and they got mixed reviews. Half of us LOVED them and half did not care for them. Even though I didn't exactly care for them I loved that they were different, made with house potato chips rather than tortilla chips. We had serval drinks and ended with some green tea shots our server suggested, they must have been good since we ordered another round. We closed our tab and walked back to the hotel when they closed at 11pm. Georgetown is still up and coming, hopefully someday a sports bar can stay open until 12/1am but for now I can see why they have to close as there were only a handful of people inside. Brunch, at brunch, after asking the hostess what her favorite was she told us she'd honestly never tried the food, we sampled several things. We LOVE calamari, so of course went with that after our servers' recommendation. I'm shocked to say I did not care for it, they come with a warm red sauce with sort of an applesauce texture that wasn't for me. I asked for a side of Serrano ranch and ate their house friend pickle slices that were mixed in with the calamari instead. I had the French onion soup that was my favorite! It was outstanding, super buttery not just salty like most places. Their hash browns were described on the menu as crispy (that's how we love them) and they weren't lying they were crisp-E! My husband absolutely LOVED the chicken and waffles! We also got 3 kids meals to go: macaroni and cheese looked amazing but no one cared for it was basically cheese fondue with noodles of that makes sense, not a creamy sauce more just melted cheese that doesn't stay on the noodles so it was too fancy for my kids and myself so that went to waste. Grilled cheese with fries went over okay with our son, he didn't care for the Texas toast he said it was too thick for his mouth he said it hurt to eat (kids, lol) and the fries are seasoned waffle fries which I loved but not so much the kids, lastly the chicken fingers those they fought over! Our bill for brunch with tip was $85 and I didn't even order a real meal. We won't be back for the ambiance, if this were a nice restaurant with a warm, cozy welcoming atmosphere maybe just for the French onion soup and chicken and waffles or to sit outside. My boyfriend was pleased with the abundance of sports on the many large screen TVs. The food was good, especially his chicken enchiladas, which had a nice little bite. This is one of the newer Georgetown spots & we finally made it out for a late lunch. I've been craving fish & chips - which I've heard is one of their specialties. We started with the Calamari Diablo - it wasn't as spicy as I expected, but it was delish! The calamari pieces were sliced thinner & crispy. Peppered thru the dish were fried pickles & shaved Parmesan that complemented the appetizer nicely! The dip was "marinara-ish" with sliced onions - Yummy! The menu had plenty of great options but we both got fish & chips. The plate was loaded with 3 large battered/fried cod pieces. The crunch to fish ratio was on point! The dish came with a unique slaw made from cabbage, apple slices & apple cider Vinegar- I couldn't place my finger on the spices but it was very tasty! The thin sliced apples popped in the slaw. The waffle fries were crunchy (I normally don't like waffle fries but these were thinner & possibly light battered/double fried with perfect seasoning. Wanted to try something new for dinner and decided on Hard Count. First off, I wish I could remember the waiter's name because he was very energetic and helpful and provided great service. The inside is a very nice vibe even with it being a sports themed restaurant. Husband and I shared calamari Diablo, I had the chicken fried chicken and he had fish and chips. Went here to watch the semi-finals and was very disappointed to discover that the multiple large TV screens all featuring the game did not have sound. When I spoke to the manager it was explained that the sports bar is trying to "re-profile" as a high-end restaurant to accommodate everyone. Irony is the restaurant was empty and everyone in the bar was clamoring for sound, clearly not accommodating everyone. Several tables left to go elsewhere, including myself. Complete loss of atmosphere w/out sound. Might as well remove the TVs and save on satellite fees. Scored a three for lack of atmosphere, sound and accommodation. Well, where do I start? The only time I leave a review is when it's great and usually a 5 star. But this evening was not a great experience. When we walked in the restaurant it didn't have many people seated at the tables and only 4 people in the bar area. The hostess looked at us and asked if she could help us.. I assumed she realized we were there to eat..she then asked for us to give her a minute and she walked away. After waiting several minutes for her to return we just sat at the bar. The bartender didn't acknowledge us for quite awhile, finally he asked what we'd like .. we ordered 2 cocktails and 2 waters.. after asking again for the water we finally got it. We ordered the calamari which was good. Also asked for the Baja fish tacotes with extra salsa.. he said it doesn't come with salsa.. again I said I'd like to order salsa with it. The tortilla was dry and tasteless .. not grilled.. and lukewarm.. fries were almost cold and dry, probably because it took a very long time to get our food. The chocolate cake was not moist and took 15 minutes to arrive.. again, the bar only had 4 customers. Needless to say, we were not impressed and were very disappointed. The 2 tequila drinks were $15.50 each! After paying the $88.77 we left .. been there several times... probably won't be back read more
