We are new to the area and had an appointment set up in the new year to get established with Hardaway Vet Hospital. Unfortunately we came home from a holiday trip to an emergency with our beloved dog Ruby. They were able to get us in the same day I called and were VERY accommodating. Our dog has anxiety and going to the vet hasn't always been a positive experience. They were very calm and patient with her and did not force any unnecessary tests or procedures. We were sent home with antibiotics, probiotics, pill pockets and anxiety meds to take before her next visit. The entire staff was kind and helpful and the price was very reasonable. We are VERY thankful to have found this local vet! read more

I am not a client of Hardaway Vet Clinic. However, while I had a dog who is a regular client of theirs in my care for a day need emergency care, I was refused service because they were "too busy." It was Saturday, 7/21/2024 when the Labrador that I was caring for was exhibiting signs of poisoning. I called at 9:30 a.m. stating my concern and informed the tech that this dog was 'one of their' clients. After the information was collected on the dog and the symptoms described, I was told that they were "too busy" and that the "only had one vet on duty." They did however take the time to refer me to another vet. If a veterinarian truly loves animals and wants to care for animals, they might just decide to work past their 1 o'clock closing time and care for an animal in distress. Especially one that is a regular client whose owners bring three animals there for all of their care! On Sunday we were able to get the dog to an emergency vet clinic where the dog is now being cared for but she is in bad shape. Hopefully she will recover. If Hardaway had chosen to show some concern and compassion for the dog on Saturday, maybe she would not have had to suffer until the next day when we could get her to a 'caring vet'. The owners of the dog have told me what some of the fees are that they pay at Hardaway and I am blown away by what they charge! I am a small business owner myself and I understand the cost of doing business but you better be able to offer 'incredible customer service' and dedicated, compassionate animal care first. My dog has quite the anxiety when visiting the vet. He doesn't perk up well with treats and sulks in the corner as much as possible. Both the vet tech and veterinary were so patient and spent as much time trying to get him comfortable before moving forward with the exam. The easy cheese helped. They were very informative and knowledgeable and I love that they have the option to text them pictures or questions before the visit. They even followed up weeks later to see how my pup was getting along! Glad we found a vet that cares. read more

I have been with Hardaway for 14 years and highly recommend them. My lab mix has been with them for 13 years since he was a pup. He far outlived his expected lifespan and today he finally passed. The staff was so caring as I tearfully said my goodbyes. Mel was great and Dr. McDowell was fantastic as always. Dr, Hardaway also came to the rescue when my other dog needed emergency surgery 10 years ago. I live in Bozeman, but prefer to drive to the Hardaway Veterinary Hospital. Hardaway Vet was exceptionally professional!! We were traveling through the Western Montana area and came across a situation where we needed a vet and we need to be able to secure an appointment for our favorite traveling companion. Upon calling Hardaway vet they immediately said yes we have a spot for you and we're excited to have us come by. Upon arrival there they came out to the parking lot to get information and examined home outside! The bedside manner of the vet with my pet and his allergic reaction to nature was phenomenal! Needed to see a vet on a Saturday morning, Dr. Hardaways staff got me in right away. Took super good care of my lil dog. He allowed me to stay in the room the whole time reviewed all the options with me. He took time to let the dog get comfortable with him before beginning the examination.
