A Pershing/Persian is a doughnut that is similar to a cinnamon roll but is made with doughnut batter. Meijer has had a plethora of Persian varieties lately, with one of them going for a cookies and cream vibe. The surface of this pastry contains a whipped cream-like frosting with miniscule chocolate cookie pieces. Due to their small size, the crumbles don't add any texture but do add a faint chocolate flavor to the creamy topping. One mini-OREO cookie can be found within the topping as the finishing touch. The cinnamon flavor of the pastry's body is sweet and relatively subtle with no uncomfortable burning/heat to it. Cinnamon granules can be seen in the dough after taking a few bites if you look closely enough. I found the dough to have a nice thick and chewy texture while also being light and pillowy. Initially I had some trepidation as the topping did not appear very thick, which concerned me because the topping to pastry ratio would be way off. Although I still think it could have been a little thicker, the ratio was sufficient for the most part.
