Hands down the best tattoo experience that I have ever had. Me and my girlfriend are visiting Alaska for the first time, and wanted to get tattoos while we were here. With so many shops around Anchorage, I had no idea where to start. I called a few shops requesting two walk-ins, and Hardlines was the only shop that didn't turn us away. Not knowing anything about the area, I was nervous about the quality of the tattoos we were about to get. As we entered, the owner asked me what tattoos we wanted and said he would let his associate know, as his associate usually took all of the walk-ins. Immediately when I told the owner what style I wanted, he became so interested and involved that he himself designed and did my tattoo. Both of these men did some of the best work, and had the best attitudes of any tattoo artist I have ever had the pleasure of working on me. All in under an hour. They both made me and my girlfriend feel more comfortable than if we were in our own home. The attention to detail and quality of work was top-notch. My only regret is that we almost went to a different shop. I could go into so much detail about how great my experience was. My friend had gotten tattooed there before for a small piece and we surely had to come back. My friend called all tattoo shops and most didn't even answer the phone or were all booked up today (Friday, 4/29/23), and finally called HardLines. They answered right away. He said he always heard from his friends about the place and how they got great services, especially with the owner Rick. Rick is the nicest man I've met, he's very respectful especially with giving breaks for you to cater to you. He has such great hospitality with his clients and takes his time to perfect his art that will be on the client's body forever. He really made his shop so homey. I love all the artwork and inclusivity in cultures of his decorations on the walls. To top it off, he has such great respect to those who serve as his family before him served and for that, he offers a 10% discount to military members. He checks up on his clients often to see whenever they need touch-ups, and does that without cost because he believes that the client should get exactly what they paid for. I re-downloaded Yelp just to leave you guys a review, Rick I believe it was... is awesome. So was the other guy, I forgot your names because it was 2am and you guys STAYED OPEN HOURS AFTER CLOSING just to finish tattooing all the people who had been standing in the world longest line, just to get tattooed, by you guys. I thought for sure once it hit closing time (on Friday the 13th only guys.. not just on regular days lol) that we wouldn't get our tattoo & we were so bummed but NOPE the lady at the front let us know the owner of the shop is staying all night to finish every person in line's tattoo. There had to have been over 30 people in line & these guys stayed & did whatever it took to get everyone their tattoos. No other shop would ever do that. Thank you guys for the fun night & (super quick) & sweet tattoo! I heard they had personal things going on that night & still chose to stay just for the people who had been waiting in line. I recently just got my first tattoo that was pretty large. The people at this shop are sick. Thankfully the artist/owner sat down with me for a solid hour or 2 just planning the tattoo till it was perfect. I highly recommend going to hardlines if you want a badass tattoo with people that genuinely care about it as much as you do.
