Recently I hired house cleaners to clean my house. Unfortunately, a 3 inch scratch happened to my hardwood floors during the cleaning. I have two inch top-nailed oak floors. After reading the reviews Hardwood Floors Plus More, I called John and asked if he could repair my hardwood floor. John replied and asked me to send him a picture of the scratch, which I did. Then, I never heard back from John. So, I sent John a message asking if he could do the repair? John replied: "Currently I am overwhelmed with the workloa. I don't take on any repair work. Sorry." When I tell people how much I paid they usually drop their jaw and say "what a deal!". I also love how John will do all the little extras like custom transitions to carpet or tile without nickel and diming with extra charges. The price he quoted me included all the trim and transitions. I did pay extra for repairs after they pulled the carpet but that was expected, and it was reasonable for the amount of wood they had to replace. His guys worked hard and fast. They really hustled and stayed as late as needed to get the initial sanding and sealing job done in one day (and then 2 more days for drying etc.). They also installed baseboards in the entire house and it came out excellent. Everyone that has come to see the floors have raved about how nice they are. John is absolutely amazing. Not only did he give us the absolute best price by far (we got 4 different estimates), he was fast, professional, and the end result is perfet - a total transformation! We had a weird area of linoleum that sliced our living/family room area in half (the other half was hardwood) and we were under a time constraint (just bought a house, wanted to move in) - we only had a week and a half to get the floors done. When told about this limit, John insisted on coming over immediately to give us an estimate and agreed to install new hardwood floors where the linoleum was and refinish the other half of the room to make sure everything matched. His team was there 2 days later and completely finished everything within a week. They were amazing to watch - so professional, knew what they were doing, and even made it look easy! On top of the perfect job they did for an unbeatable price, halfway through his work, I noticed a spot of the hardwood floors in another part of the house that had some water damage. John Vu and his crew did a fantastic job pulling up the icky, worn carpet in our house and sanding and refinishing our original hardwood floors (late 1950's red oak). I requested a quote online and he came out and gave us an estimate the next day. He did a great job explaining what work/repairs needed to be done and the multi-day, multi-coat process involved with refinishing hardwood floors. His prices were VERY reasonable. We were under a tight timeline since we had just purchased our house and wanted to move in a week later, and he worked hard to accommodate us. He was able to get out there with his crew the next day to begin work. I also really liked how John is a licensed contractor who runs a legitimate business. You can view his contractor's license on the CSLB website (www.cslb.ca.gov) and see that he is both licensed and properly carrying worker's comp. insurance. He doesn't sub out, he works alongside his crew, and his crew are his employees who show up in the company truck or van. This was very important to us as we came across other folks who were either unlicensed or per the CSLB website, certified they had no employees and exempt from worker's comp yet somehow they had a crew ready to work. Overall, we were very pleased with the quality of work John and his crew did on our floors. I've posted a couple of pics, although the lighting really doesn't do justice to how great the floor looks. We were also happy with his reasonable prices and that we supported a local, legitimately run, small business. John was a pleasure to work with, and his crew were timely, efficient, and knew what they were doing. Due to the staining and discoloration which we found once we removed the laminate that was covering it, John steered us to the perfect color to make the stains look like they were just part of the floor. It's not an easy process to go through since you have to remove all your furnisher, but I felt we were in good hands with John, and we were not disappointed. Our floors turned out beautiful! I have used this company several times over the years. The first time was re-stain and refinish a large kitchen/family room. A few years later I had John and his crew lift entryway tile and install a HW floor with a beautiful feature strip. It is beautiful. I tore out the carpet and base board myself and the floors were a mess from the padding and years of dirt filtering through the carpet, but otherwise in good shape. The team needed to be in there 3 days in a row, longer on the first day (4 hours or so i believe) than the subsequent days (2 hrs or so) which were just adding coats of lacquer. John found a couple of individual boards and a transition that needed to be replaced that he threw in with the service. I would definitely use him again! read more

John and his crew are absolutely amazing. I recently bought a 60+ year old home in Sacramento, and the hardwood floor had likely not been refinished, ever. It was in bad shape, and a hideous orange tone that I hated. John had fantastic Yelp reviews, so I gave him a call. He responded promptly and was a pleasure to deal with. He was punctual, professional, and knowledgable. He came to my home and after measuring, gave me a bid that was almost 40% lower than the three other estimates I received. To be honest, I was a bit nervous about that, but I booked him for the job. I was blown away when I saw the finished product. John made my floors look brand new, corrected the heinous orange with a neutral stain, and completely changed the look of my house. And he was SO affordable! I cannot recommend his services enough. On a side note, John even came out to address a small area of debris that got stuck on the floors as they were drying. It turns out that a different contractor was working on window sills as John was doing the floors, and some of the drywall crumbled onto the still-wet hardwood. My wife and I did a lot of the tear down work and all the furniture was out for John and crew but somehow they could not put my baseboard s in and I just read one review where the pulled the furniture and put it back there are 2 boards that needed to be replaced but are not another one needed sanding but was not and the did not clear coat where the frig was trying to get the guy to call back is almost impossible the new floors they put in are great but just finish the whole job read more
