I watched as other customers got in depth explanations of the differences in styles and thickness etc. they were even taken to desks to talk. He didn't say follow me. He just turned and walked to the counter so I assumed I was to follow. I was taken back to the counter and in a scene from a used car salesman he pounded on the calculator for what felt like forever and then said oh it will be this much. It was such a high number from the estimate I had gotten from them and from other companies. I said can you explain the price break down. He seemed so mad that I asked. Then I tried to look at his paper and in the corner in small print was some calculations. He couldn't explain what he was using for the prices and blamed it all on tariffs. I said ok and started to walk away. He didn't care. He made a face. Actually the whole time I tried to engage him he would make a face and move his hands in a " I don't know what's going on fashion". It wasn't overt but it was there. I had measurements in to their system so clearly I was there to make a purchase. I just can't believe bow I was treated. I mean I stood and listen to the other salesman while this jerk went to start his complex math calculations and they were explaining thickness and differences. I learned a few things actually. From this guy I learned that my money can go elsewhere and I'm not buying a used car so I don't need to be jerked around like this. I really wanted to support local but after this I will not. I should go back and ask for the manager owner whoever but I don't think I'll waste my time.

She used MHI for her kitchen remodel along with some other home renovations and spoke very highly of his work. My only regret is we didn't contact Manny earlier in the remodeling process! Manny is very knowledgeable and helped us not only with the construction part of the project but guided me through some of the design details such as cabinet options, tile layouts, positioning of sink and appliances, to name a few. Manny takes care in hiring trustworthy employees that are skilled in their trade. I had no problems leaving his guys to do the work when I was not around.

We had this all done at a really busy time for us (in hindsight, this was the mistake on our part), as we all know that these days, if you want good-quality work with installs/contractors, you have to micromanage and helicopter it, it seems. We took his word for it on a couple of things and shouldn't have. When he came to measure, I pointed to a spot where there is a dip in our basement, he said they would repair it upon installation. I was at work when the carpet was installed, and when I realized a couple of weeks later that the dip was still there, he tried to gaslight me - saying they would never agree to repair something like that, as it is not something they do since it would be concrete work, to repair a basement foundation issue. He said someone would come check it out, but they never did. It's been 2-3 months now. I had also asked him, while he was at our house, how much would need to be moved/put away. He said, "you don't have to worry about anything but just the little things and anything breakable". My husband questioned this the night before installation, as he noticed the contract stated that most things needed to be cleared, but I told him not to worry about it because Jonathan said we didn't need to. The crew tried to charge us extra fees for having to move stuff or said they would come back another day after we took care of it, but they then wanted to charge us $200-300 for not getting to do the job that day. We fought back on this, so we ultimately did not pay this fee. Jonathan was very condescending throughout this whole experience, playing dumb and somehow forgetting what he said to me. Don't trust what he says and just read the fine print.

From the very beginning , I should have been made aware of certain things when I picked out my LVF. I also got carpet in one n my rooms. Everything was wrong. The order, the installers, the carpet. All of it was done in a rush. The floors have jagged edges. The people that came by to look at the flooring which was done wrong said it makes it look more authentic. The carpet couldn't be laid properly in one area, because the base board to secure the flooring was glued down, to secure the floor, and as a divider. Therefore they couldn't get the carpet secure, under the base board divider. How do u hold down the carpet when the baseboard was glued down? Just a terrible experience from beginning to end. I wouldn't recommend Bodes Flooring to anyone. Just a bad nightmare! I spent quite a bit of money doing the whole house, and I was just another number. So as I said earlier, there are too many flooring companies, and I would not recommend or pick Bodes.

When I brought up my concerns, the owner, Mr. Leite, was dismissive and tried to make excuses instead of taking responsibility. At one point he even tried to convince me that my kitchen cabinets were two different colors when they were clearly one which felt manipulative. On top of that, there were hidden fees, including a labor tax and a 3% card fee, that were never mentioned until the final bill. I appreciate good work and honesty, but unfortunately, I didn't get either when it came to the flooring. I would not recommend this company for flooring projects.

We were under a budget so was hoping for a good price on replacing our carpet in the living room, dining room and hallway with luxury vinyl plank. Their quote was very reasonable and included replacement of the carpet with LVP in the two bedrooms in addition to the three areas I noted. We were also looking to replace our 2.5 inch baseboards so they were able to throw in new baseboards into their quote as well. The company is very flexible in scheduling the work - all they needed was two days notice. They were able to replace our floors in two days for a 1,000 sq ft condo. They also have a nice selection of LVP with options at various price points. Our floors had original hardwood and there were a couple of sunken areas in the subfloor which they were able to level out with concrete (fixing with plywood would have been more costly). The crew who came and worked in our home were nice and respectful and I was amazed at how efficient they were barely taking any breaks. Joao provided the quote visit and his two brothers came in and did the work. All of them were very communicative making sure I'd check certain areas to be sure I was ok with the work and answering any questions I had. In the end I am impressed with the floors and wish we replaced our carpet sooner. Dash floors with very communicative and will work with you within your budget.

UPDATE: 5/25/2023: Ken Waldman, owner of FloorGem, continues to ignore my homeowner's insurance…read morecompany's subrogation department, and he ignored my Better Business Bureau complaint. This is after he repeatedly told me via text that he would pay me for my financial losses. See attached screenshots. Ken promised via text IN FEBRUARY 2023 to repay me for my damages. That did not happen, and it is now May 2023, so I've now filed a complaint with the state licensing commission and will take him to small claims court, if necessary. The state licensing committee told me he has prior complaints. This past October we contracted with FloorGem to remove carpet and refinish the wooden floors…read moreunderneath as well as refinish existing floors in upstairs bedrooms. Bottom line up front - the floors look pretty good given their age but there were big misses in terms of communication and quality of work. If you are recovering floors under carpet as we did, I'd strongly recommend pulling it all up first and then get an estimate so you know what you are dealing with. The work was set to start on a Monday, moving the furniture out to a Pod for storage and then refinishing to be done by Saturday. The movers (recommended by FloorGem) contacted us and we set up their coming by at about 11am since I had a doctor's appointment at 9am. While I am being examined by the doctor I get a call from Ken (FloorGem) that his carpet removal people cannot get in as no one is home. There had been absolutely no indication that anyone from his team was showing up Monday morning, and how could they do their work anyway given the furniture was still in place? They ended up going to another job that day. Movers showed up on time and did an excellent job. Tuesday we get a text that part of the floor is in poor shape and boards really have to be replaced. That was always a potential so we simply had to accept that and move forward. However, when I dropped by later that evening to see for myself I was quite surprised to see that the work crew had "hot wired" their sander into our electric junction box in the basement, running a thick extension cord up to second floor where they had started sanding the floors that day. No one had mentioned that this would be necessary, and I have no idea whether the person doing this was a licensed electrician (highly doubt it). Thursday morning I get a call from Ken that sections of the floor in LR and DR have darker stain on them. I dropped everything to go home, thinking Ken would be there to discuss options but instead it was the work crew. The lead was very helpful, pointing out the stain and showing me how it would look with a couple of different stains. I picked the one that seemed best, as replacing these boards on top of those already replaced was not in budget. As noted above, if you are in a similar position wanting to recover those original wooden floors under carpet or vinyl, get that stuff up first so that you can better assess what is involved and what compromises you may need to make. The job was completed on time and we were able to move back in the following Monday morning. Given what FloorGem had to work with, the floors look pretty good. However, the quality of the work was a bit sloppy in parts. Stain was splashed onto baseboard and on the railing, even some stain on LR wall which thankfully Mr. Clean Magic Eraser handled ok. The wooden lip that transitions from the LR to kitchen is too high so that we can no longer close that door. I checked the junction box and, so far as I could see, appears reassembled properly (but still not thrilled it was done). Also found a cell phone (not ours) in basement, texted FloorGem to ask if it belonged to their crew but no response. So in brief, the floors look fine but we now have other issues to address to get everything in an acceptable state.

Dust on the window shades, floor boards, in the closet shelves, just absolutely everywhere. Jhunio and his team did the most thorough, detailed job. I wish I had before pictures to really give you a sense of how bad it was and then how clean Los Medina got everything. There wasn't even any dust in site. Service is 110% top notch. He's also great at communicating and answering questions. He came by and did a walkthrough and gave us an estimate in advance. He's reliable. Even though there was a snow storm the day before, he made sure they still came and got the house move in ready since we had movers arriving the next day. I would recommend Los Medina to friends and family and use them again! I tried including a few before photos that I had but they were before all the wall and floor sanding was done. But the post work photos should speak for themselves.

The owner, Jhunio, answered promptly and also provided me with a quote for a move-out cleaning, in case I was interested. We ended up booking them for a move-out cleaning, and absolutely no regrets! Jhunio was friendly, responsive, and accommodating in the days (and weeks- we booked early!) leading up to the cleaning. The quote was about $200 including microwave and oven cleaning, which was right around average of the quotes we collected, maybe a tiny bit under average cost-wise. A team of three showed up right on time for the cleaning and did an absolutely amazing job, the place was spotless and we couldn't be happier. I would highly recommend Los Medina!
