Tracey lacked communication with me, my vendors, my bridal party, and my family and was late on multiple occasions. Due to poor communication between a vendor and her, I had to change the venue site two days before my wedding, which was rather stressful. He had requested to assess the venue over three months in advance, and she told him no, never consulting with me to ask if he could come out. I found this out two days before our wedding. She was unable to handle simple tasks and failed to assert herself and take charge of her defined role. She stood in the background watching the entire weekend. I would like to call her an expensive guest, but even my guests contributed more to my wedding day than she did. My bridal party "met" Tracey at the rehearsal dinner. However, she attended but didn't speak one word to anyone and sat at the end of the table. On the day of the wedding, she stood in the background, didn't help solve any last-minute concerns, ate out food, didn't engage with anyone, then took our wedding leftovers home. We were happy to send food with her but so profoundly disappointed in her role over the weekend. A word of caution: after meeting with my vendors before and after my wedding, there was talk they would no longer do business with Tracey due to their poor experience and lack of communication. This may restrict the vendors for future weddings if choosing to work with Tracey as a planner.

Second, the servings of food are not small. We noticed other tables taking their leftovers in to-go containers. Baby, we're not in Kansas anymore (NYC). And lastly, the food is so fresh and delicious--the menu changes seasonally and is sourced from local farms, of course! Apps: Pan seared scallops over homemade crisp potato cakes, fresh corn puree, and a red pepper coulis--divine. Charred grilled octopus with heirloom tomatoes, cannellini beans, sweet red peppers, castelvetrano olives, and grilled lemon--an absolutely elevated cephalopod. Old American standards that stood the test of time. However, at Oxford House, they aren't afraid to experiment with ingredients outside of the norm. Mariah also directed us to a local running trail that was very close by - which was perfect for us (even tho it was raining). Lastly - we met so many awesome people that were also staying there from all over the world. Had great conversations at night and also the next morning at breakfast. Even without the familial connection, I'd be absolutely in love with this place. Family and friends gathered this past weekend for a memorial hike in honor of my dad, who passed in 2007. Leon and Nellie went out of their way to accommodate us, down to even offering additional rooms when some extra guests appeared and getting up extra early to make us to-go egg sandwiches we could take long on our hike up Mt. Washington. Both our group and the other guests at the Inn were treated like treasured friends in their home and it felt like a big old family reunion for us all. The Spruce Moose is the perfect location---a short walk to the adorable North Conway village, and a quick drive to countless hiking options. The decor makes you feel like you're visiting friends in a luxurious mountain home. Zeb and Avery, the two trusty labs, greet you at the door and will cuddle you on the couch for hours if you let them. The beds are comfy, and the rooms contain no tvs so you can truly enjoy the nature around you (though there IS wi-fi if you need your technology fix). Breakfast in the morning is delicious and filling. Tea and coffee are available at any time. It was an amazing weekend, in no small part to Leon and Nellie. I will be back to the Spruce Moose the next time I come to North Conway!

I wasn't planning on going…read moreback to New Hampshire but Nellie and Leon made me feel so welcome that I want to go just so I can stay there again with them. Avery and Jed are the most welcoming doggies, I was only with them for one night and I miss them terribly. The breakfast was excellent, coffee and tea are available all the time. My room was beautiful, the shower had great water pressure, and the lodge itself is super warm and cozy. I honestly felt like I was visiting relatives I just hadn't met yet.
