2 wings, 2 ribs, fries combo

Bethesda is a bit boring when it comes to lunch options, so I was pleased to a find a BBQ truck just a few blocks from my office. On Fridays, Hardy's parks in the Montgomery Farm Women's Cooperative Market lot, and lines start early (but move quickly). I like their two ribs, two wings, and fries platter option. The ribs are fall-off-the-bone tender and the wings are delicious. Meat is added to your plate right off the smoker, and I recommend the spicy sauce. Fries are good, too. However, I love their pulled pork sandwich. It's piled high with delicious pork and sauce and the bun is toasted. The collard greens are good too--not overcooked, but fresh and flavorful. It's probably one of my favorite versions. I love BBQ and because of Hardy's, I basically have Friday lunches planned from now on.

My meal: BBQ ribs & chicken wings with fries & cream soda

I've eaten at this food truck in Bethesda twice so far. Once I got food to go, and the 2nd time I ate at the outdoor set up they had outside the truck (2 tables and chairs under a tent). Cozy & the perfect place to people watch. I paid $12 for 2 ribs and 2 chicken wings with French fries. Delicious! Well priced for the awesome flavor. The only con was that my cream soda was luke warm at best; which wasn't good for such a hot day.

This must be what the Elysian Fields look like.

I intended to get a sandwich and maybe a side, but then Corries wedged open his grill with a pair of pliers and I saw the face of god. And after quashing the moment of insanity where I wanted to mug this man of his meat, the vision of glory spoke unto me in the tongue of gluttons: "Get one of those gleaming slabs of ribs. And save $3 per half-rack by going full slab." Wife Squared my order and the husband carved, sauced, and then finished a few more minutes in the grill. Minimal cartilage, which I would be bummed by if not for the tender meat. End pieces were barely withered, a notable execution problem I often see elsewhere. These ribs were superior to the BBQ products of fellow Bethesda businesses BCS and Smoke. I'd venture to add the Curley's Q truck to the list of inferior neighborhood barbeque. Now, all the downsides are true: the @hardys_bbq Twitter feed is essential because sometimes they randomly don't open on the weekend (it took me three attempts before I caught them open). And the spicy sauce needs a lot of work-- the flavor's meaty smoke with pepper, but hardly any spice... I could probably rub my eyes without much regret. Still, I'll be back to try a pulled chicken sandwich, loaded with slaw for an extra buck; brat; potato salad; BBQ fries. Update: Rounding down from three and a half stars, the brisket isn't very good... portioned generously and sauced appropriately, but sliced thin and lacking much of its moisture on a dense burger bun.

Hardy's BBQ is smokinlicious! This is my favorite bbq place in the DMV! The ribs are perfectly cooked and delicious as is the juicy brisket. I had a few wings when I went with four of my brothers and I could not believe how good they were. We tried the sausages to and the chicken, you can't go wrong with Hardy's, this is serious bbg not some fancy concept joint in Arlington or DC. Collard greens wre awesome and sweet potato pie for dessert! Holy moly! I drive 32 miles for Hardy's and it's worth it. They have a food truck in Bethesda and a smoke shack in Bowie. I highly recommend Hardy's, it is the best bbq period!

Best freaking ribs I've ever had, and thats NOT an understatement!

Hardy's BBQ gives you the homemade authentic food that you crave! Ordered a slab of ribs from them, and I literally cannot have ribs anywhere else. They ruined ribs for me (in a good way lol). The ribs smell really good, but the taste is irresistible! Every bite you have a soft, juicy, smoked charcoaled flavor. You think that's good? Just wait until you add their signature spicy sauce to it..tastes like heaven! It's THAT DAMN GOOD! If I were to eat ribs at another place or location, the quality or flavor just doesn't match the ribs from Hardy's BBQ! I'd highly recommend you try the food out! I'm so thankful I've come across their ribs, now I'm going to try out their other menu items.

Hardy's BBQ is owned by Corries and Roxie Hardy, a husband-and-wife team. Their food truck can be found in MoCo, B-More, PGC, or in Fairfax - the hubs and I spotted them on the parking lot of the Montgomery Farm Women's Cooperative Market on a Saturday. The trucks offers lunch, dinner, as well catering services, in which items such as smoked pulled pork, smoked beef brisket, hickory-smoked pulled chicken, and various sides (bbq beans, cole slaw, mac and cheese, and fries)) are available. We tried the Smoked Pulled Pork (sandwich; that came in a sesame-topped hamburger bun; definitely good with either of the sauces), BBQ Meat Fries (their top seller, which comes with seasoned fries, melted nacho cheese, BBQ sauce (spicy or sweet), with your choice of meats (excluding rib meat :P; I was a fan of this, as the fries were hot out-of-the-fryer crispy, and topped with a tasty melted nacho cheese and the smoked brisket that we opted for (which was pretty good!); I went crazy with mixing up the sweet and the spicy BBQ sauce and made it all saucy (I also loved that they were generous with their homemade BBQ sauces!) - yum!)); half a slab of their ribs (this was tasty, and didn't need either of the sauces; it wasn't as tender as I would have liked, and it did not fall off the bone; it was dry-rubbed, and you really had to gnaw it off the bone; it definitely had a nice smokey flavor to it); BBQ beans; and, Mac and Cheese (both the sides were cold, and we wished it would have been kept warm in a crockpot of some sort). I actually liked the BBQ sauces, as it was thick and tomato-based, with a slight tinge of tangy-ness to it. Mr. Corries was very personable and sweet, and he told us that he used to work for the MoCo government, but decided to focus on his passion, BBQ. If you're in the MoCo area and are craving for some BBQ, you should definitely check them out. Plus, they accept cards, too! +smoked beef brisket :D +BBQ Meat Fries (!!!) +request the sauces on the side - they're generous! :D +owned by a husband-and-wife team, Corries and Roxie Hardy +they travel to MoCo, B-More, PGC, and even Fairfax +they accept cards (convenient!)

While normally opting for tender Beef Tongue (Lengua) I can get it, this was the first time I saw lamb, specifically Lamb Barbeque (Barbacoa de Borrego) on any Mexican menu, so decided to try it out in a corn tortilla Quesadilla. It arrived freshly prepared not as a flat quesadilla I'm accustomed to, but more like two giant tacos. (See pic.) This sizable portion came with a red and green salsas, so I tried one on each. Both were good additions, but the red one cleared my sinuses! Definitely recommend El Jalapeño! Look forward to a future visit to Bethesda to trying something with their tongue the next
