I purchased my 2007 Pruis on 1/15/2007. I drove every mile of its 295k total. I traded up for my new 2026 vehicle at Hertrich Toyota of Milford, DE on 2/20/26. It was running fine, still getting 42mpg, but the time had come, and we had been saving our pennies for 6 years. My MD dealership told me back at 36k miles I would return to trade-in when the battery died because it would cost me $4,000. I never returned to the dealer, trusting my local mechanics at Harford Tire in Street, MD. They kept my car running like new up until I traded it in for $500. My new car had been "in transit" for months and arrived at Hertrich in Milford, DE on 2/17, the original ETA. When that expensive battery died in July of 2020, I did NOT return to the dealer. A quick Google search led me to phone a company called Hybrid911. Based in Atlanta, GA, I was skeptical, but was wrong. As promised, their team showed up at my house in Monkon, MD with a rebuilt battery, swapped it with my dead one, took my payment of $1100.00 and left. Not only the huge savings, but a $19.99 monthly payment insured me and my little wonder car that I'd never worry about the battery again. They guaranteed that the next rebuilt hybrid would cost ZERO. It's hard to believe, but when I called Ms Kelly at 888-761-1911 today, I was sad to be leaving them. I truly felt they would have honored that policy if I drove my Prius another 100k miles. Good, honest people are out there when you look. I was blessed with taking a chance on a Prius, that so many friends mocked me for driving. (Coworkers complained it was too quiet, and suggested I was peddling) Funny, now those "all electrics" cost a fortune. My garage on Priestford Rd in Street, MD would remind me whether 5k or 3k checkups were recommended. Most were $60.00 for oil change and fluid/tire checks. [[HIGHLIGHT]]And final blessing was my new dealership, who when they didn't have a Rav4 on the lot to test drive suggested I keep driving the Prius until it arrived. I picked up my vehicle after a routine break job and identified it was not roadworthy. Dangerously unresponsive. Which means they did not test drive it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called and described the issues and they asked when I could bring it by. I repeated that it was dangerous.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Then they offered to pick it up. So not only is the mechanic negligent and incompetent, but so is the receptionist (driving it exposed them to significant liability). They determined they failed to install the brake line correctly and it was leaking fluid. I'll be filing a complaint with the Office of the Attorney General since they failed to address my concerns. Just a few modifications in the hands of top notched skill handed technicians and the car is safely back on the road humming like a champ well almost because unfortunately now the wheel bearings need to be replaced. I had this weekend to think about it, and I truly can say I even had fits of guilt just consulting a few close friends who are car buffs including my older brother. I am almost certain at birth they were given the great gifts of auto genius, yes, mechanical gurus. The price I was quoted at Harford tires, not that I ever doubted them, was spot on for the work to be completed. even though sometimes a bit of news can be a hard pill to swallow I wasn't even thinking of the money already saved off the first repair, which was $1300 so if you think about it as opposed to the cost of a new car, it is a no-brainer that [[HIGHLIGHT]]I will be looking forward to this completed work scheduled for the Labor Day week![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] once again, I will be thanking Harford tires because I will be going into autumn and winter, knowing I have a sound structured vehicle. I called to get a price on an inside tire patch. They gave me a quote $18 cheaper than the Hyundai dealership. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I asked if they could get me in. They replied, "no problem, bring it on up"[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was in and out with no problem and no surprise cost. They even re-balanced the tire and I was on my way in about 30 minutes or less. Took my vehicle to this place for a tire rotation and alignment. Was given the price of what it was beforehand. After the wheels/tires were all off this "service writer" said it would be $100 more and went on this rant why it needs to be done or they can't do it. I needed it done so I paid it after expressing that it doesn't take an extra hour of work for what he was explaining. Still wouldn't budge. Guy seemed really scummy like a used car salesman. We have been going to Harford Tire since 1973 when they basically took care of tires, brakes, and anything in that department. we started with Sydney, followed by Charlie and now there's a bunch of fellows working either and the front desk or in the shop. Over the years we've watched Harford Tire grow into a full service shop that rivals any dealership! In fact, it's better because at Harford Tire you know that they won't tell you that you "need" more and more things done, as happens in many of our local dealerships. Additionally, they've remodeled the front desk/ waiting area so people who must wait for their repairs have a comfortable place to sit, including a lovely restroom. I can not recommend Hartford tire enough. Brandon and John savers our Key West vacation. We were traveling through Harford on our way to catch the Auto train in Virginia and was on a tight schedule. However my vehicle had other plans. It developed an engine misfire and lacked power. No way we could continue. I limped into Harford Tire and Auto and explained our predicament. Brandon diagnosed the problem, ordered the parts and John expertly repaired or car and had us on the way to make the train with 5 minutes to spare. Thanks again for all your help. Zero Rating... Took my car to Harford Tire for a replacement of belts, pulleys and water pump (all were working but pulley bearings were getting louder so I thought I'd avoid a breakdown and have the work done). The V6 engine had to be jacked up slightly to do the repairs. A mechanic used a wood 2x4 which left a large dent in the oil pan. Oil suction tube in the oil pan was restricted, even dented, which can cause the engine to starve from oil. Picked my car up on a Friday and on Sunday my engine blew up. A replacement engine is $5000. Nathan at Harford Tire argued the damage was not related to the work that was done and refused to cover the engine repair so that's were things stand. Hoping to get some legal help to take this to court. Buyer beware when using this shop. read more

Full Service - I called shopping for a single tire. The front desk person was courteous and quick to provide a price that was well below what I had been quoted elsewhere. They arranged a time to have me drop off the car and do the work. When I dropped off the car they offered to do it while I waited and have it ready as soon as possible. Scheduling prevented me from staying and I picked it up that afternoon. After picking it up I noticed they not only put on a new tire but put away the spare and all the tools (Jack, lug wrench, handle) I had left out. These guys are the tops!! Harford Tire Service is an amazing and trustable mechanic shop! I would recommend this place to anyone! I ended up buying a used car and got it inspected at Firestone in Bel Air because they were running a $10 engine inspection special. After getting my car inspected at Firestone, they told me I needed two repairs that would cost over 800 dollars! I wanted a second opinion and took it to Harford Tire. The guys there got me in quickly to check out my car and had great customer service skills. They checked it out and found that nothing was wrong with it! Firestone has recently been trying to make more change by charging customers for unneeded or fake repairs. Harford Tire could have told me, oh yeah, you need a few repairs but we'll charge you half the price of Firestone. But no! They were honest and upfront about the condition of my car, found nothing wrong with it, and they saved me $800 bucks!. These guys are great, affordable, and flexible. If you need anything done with your car, go there and they'll help you out. I also just had a nail in my tire and they fixed that up as well in thirty minutes (on a crazily busy day) for on 27 bucks!
