Poor customer service, do not do issue tag and registration on time. Their word is no good

To all those looking to have their Harley serviced, BEWARE OF HARLEY HAVEN. Beginning in March, Mike at the parts desk ordered heated Switchback grips for my 23 RG. In April I dropped off the heated grips, 12" KST bars and a KST Krazy Clamp with Woody (Service Manager). We reviewed all the parts to be installed. Issue #1- Grips- I received a call from Kevin (in service) a few days after dropping off & was told the heated grips Mike ordered didn't fit. He said Mike doesn't normally make mistakes like this. Kevin told me he had the non-heated Switchback grips in stock & that they would fit. I agreed to these. I received a call next day from Kevin saying the non-heated grips also didn't fit. He accidentally grabbed CVO grips and didn't realize it. He texted part #'s for different grips, but I didn't like these styles so I asked him to replace the stock grips for now. The next day Kevin called saying he couldn't replace the stock grips because they were cut off the old bars. Kevin called again saying a master tech was in the shop & could shave down a nub on the housing to make the ORIGINAL heated Switchback grips fit. Cool. Issue #2- Bars- I received an auto-text several days later saying I had new parts for pickup? Confused, I called to inquire. Mike (in service) said he wasn't in the shop recently and didn't know what parts were ordered. Come to find out, they ordered a clutch extension without notifying me. Prior to dropping off my bike, I called KST & they specifically said an extension is NOT needed for 12" bars on a 23 RG, which is the reason I chose this size. Great. Issue #3- Price- As any consumer does, we call around for price estimates. KST quoted me a 2 hour labor install for the bars. Thunder Tower HD quoted me 5 hrs and Murphy's quoted me 4 hrs. After a full WEEK at HH, for a simple bar swap and grip install (mind you, amateur folks install these specific bars on YouTube in 2 hours)..Harley Haven charged me EIGHT hours of labor plus the extension. As you know, labor cost is $150/hr. Wow. Issue #4- Parts weren't installed/damaged goods- After getting home, I notice the base of the bars had chipped paint (photo attached). I emailed pics to KST and they said the bars were not installed properly & are now "an eye-sore". Next I took off my gauge cluster to adjust the new bars for fitment & I immediately see the bar clamp was still STOCK (photo attached)! Harley Haven didn't even install the KST bar clamp! I called Mike & he said he would ask around for the missing part. He found my clamp & said the tech wasn't able to install it due to it not fitting properly and the risers being too tall (on a stock bike). They never thought to return this part to me when I picked it up or even inform me it wasn't installed!? I contacted KST relaying this info & they called BS on them. Mike told me to bring the bike back in 2 weeks when their master tech returned to try to install the bar clamp again. Fast forward 2 weeks, the bar clamp fit with no problems & was installed in 15 minutes. Mike literally said that the tech probably just forgot to install it & likely just made up an excuse. He also said the tech was working open to close, taking no lunch breaks because they're short staffed, leading to these errors! He also said about service manager "Woody is a mess and he is all over the place". I asked Mike about the paint being chipped on the bars & he told me the parts desk sells touch-up paint (for $49). Unbelievable. Harley Haven stocks and sells Switchback grips and KST bars in their parts shop but the service team and parts department were completely incompetent on a flagship motorcycle. Of note, this dealership is under new management (Teresa fired and TJ left). I can say with certainly that I will never be going back to this cluster f*** of a dealership. I will continue to use Thunder Tower HD and other locals like Murphy's where service & communication isn't an issue. read more

My Harley-Davidson Electra Glide being a little long in the tooth needed a new set of footboard inserts as they have experienced wear and tear from running all over the USA in all types of weather. Anyway, I checked out all the online suppliers for availability and pricing but found Harley Haven to not only have the original set of Harley-Davidson footboards in stock they were less expensive than the online retailers. After I installed the footboards which snapped right on, (didn't have all the hardship issues of the purchasers from the online retailers needing to soak the footboard inserts overnight), went to start my Electra Glide and found that the battery wouldn't crank the engine. I'd only just replaced the battery 5 years ago. Oh well, so once again back to the computer for an online search of the usual suspects for availability and price and once again found Harley Haven to have the H-D battery in stock and less expensive. When I purchased the new battery from Harley Haven, I found that Harley Haven gives a 1-year warranty on the OEM battery and they even etched the purchase date on the battery so I don't have to keep the original receipt which is nice since most thermally printed receipts vanish like invisible ink within three months. It's refreshing to know that our local Harley-Davidson shop at Harley Haven has a nicely stocked inventory readily available, accessible, and less expensive than online retailers. Awesome service and really a pleasure to do business with. Teejay knows his stuff and will go out of his way to make you feel at home, which can be said about the rest of the staff as well. I'm comfortable bringing my family here because you feel like family when you come in. The finance process was honest and straight forward with no pressure. We contacted Harley Haven about doing a benefit ride for a very special lady, Jessica and everyone I spoke to over the phone was so helpful every step of the way. We all live in different states, so getting everything to come together was going to be challenge. The staff at Harley Haven were just wonderful, I am blown away by their hospitality, and how they made us all feel so at home this past Saturday. Thank you all at Harley Haven. I ordered a part that was available online with standard 3 to 5 day shipping to support the business. This was delayed from California over a month and a half with no adequate explanation. Despite this I kept with the business trying to support them in the setting of Covid, Pushing my appointment back multiple times. When the part finally came in past my last appointment I had to reschedule with no preference given approximately another 3 weeks out making this a 2 month ordeal for a Part. Not just buyer beware, all who enter beware. In fairness, the front desk staff are nice ladies. The management are nothing but spin artists that tell you anything but the truth. Integrity and straight talk are totally absent. Do yourself a favor, ride or drive the extra 15 minutes to Tower Harley, great people with awesome customer service. In a word, this place is a JOKE! I have been riding Harley Davidson Motorcycle's for over 30 years. I have been in many shops in many states. While living here in the Columbia S.C. area I have been to a few of the area dealerships. This dealership is ok at best, There are some knowledgeable staff for sure both in service and parts departments. I will say the little guy who runs the place I guess the owner is rather a little gruff. He is right on you if he smells money, but will walk away from you if you are not buying. I like to buy shirts and accessories from the shops I go to but am not buying a new bike every time a new model comes out. There can be a little feeling of pressure to trade in and buy new. I will say Harley of Greenville and Thunder tower are two places worth looking at and pricing bike with. The dealers that are open 7 days a week are you true dealers some times the working person can only get to shop maybe on a Sunday or Monday. Timms is also an option, they also have the limited hours of Harley Haven but they are great people without little gruff guy. I for one will speak my mind, look for your self and maybe you will feel different. I promise you will find better prices and just as good service else where.. don't buy the treat you like family they speak of. read more
