Their bathrooms were clean, their employees were nice, and the lanes were well taken care of, so there are no complaints here. I rarely leave reviews, but I feel like other parents deserve to know what I went through a couple of weeks ago. I tried booking my son's birthday party online here and honestly it was a nightmare. The system kept freezing, nothing was easy to find, and it felt like there were a million steps just to get through the process. It was super frustrating and honestly stressful when all I wanted to do was set up a fun day for my child. After wasting way too much time online, I gave up and called the bowling center to see if I could just book over the phone. Nope. They told me they only take online reservations. At that point I was done. If the website doesn't work right, they should at least let you call and book with a real person. I ended up taking my business somewhere else that made it quick and simple. Parents already have enough on their plate without fighting through a broken booking system. Definitely wouldn't recommend unless you want the same headache I went through. read more

We had such a great time here for my daughter's birthday party! Our party hostess was on top of everything, from setup to drinks to bringing out coins for the arcade. When we arrived half an hour before the party, the tables were all decorated and ready for us to set out cake and snacks. The pizza came out on time during the party, and it was really good. ** I have updated this review for clarification. ** Their bowling alleys used to be fun and accommodating. But beware... they have now implemented this ridiculous rule that you can't bring "ANY" type of food or drink into the building. This includes a plain old water bottle, or your own water from home! You can't even bring in a candy bar from home! Why? They won't tell you. They will just remind you with their warnings that are plastered on every entereance to the building. As they have told those who bowl there regularly, we are welcome to purchase a bottle of water from their machine at the reduced price of $1.00 per bottle. Costco sells the same thing for 25 cents. Or you can get a small cup of water for free from their Igloo jug in the bar. Sodas, and other drinks and snacks, from the machines average around a few bucks each. I've bowled at this house, and Camarillo for over 20 years and never have they ever mentioned such an insane policy or told people directly that they could not bring in a soda or water. When it was mentioned about the choices they offer and reasons why the new rule does not make sense, it seemed as though there was some understanding. But that was short lived and the enforcement was reiteratted. Apparently communication and compromise is not something the owner's understand. I can understand not allowing outside food. But it would be nice if there were more food options available at the alley besides $35 pizzas and $12 french fries. In addition, the drink choices are minimal. Not everyone likes Pepsi. And there are only a handful of non-alcoholic drink options, that all include Pepsi products. Not everyone drinks alcohol. And some people don't even like drinking plain water. With the choices offered, some may not be able to drink anything they have to offer. And what about someone who has special needs? Can babies have their formula if their parents bring them along while bowling? Can a toddler have a juice box? Not according to the new rules! I would remind the owners: League bowlers pay $20 - $25, or more, a week in fees for league bowling. Many purchase food and multiple bar drinks. On top of that, add the cost for practice games and just bringing the family to bowl. Multiply that by the hundreds of league bowlers throughout the week as well as the casual bowlers who visit daily and pay upwards of $35 an hour to bowl and you have and ask yourself, Is it worth risking alienating your customers and incurring a possible loss in your primary revenue just because you can't be flexible over someone bringing a soft drink from 7-11? A drink that you, most likely, don't even offer. And not allowing someone to bring their own water bottle from home is just ridiculous! It just makes it look like you are nickle and diming your customers. And that typically doesn't work out well in the end. It would be in the best interest of the owners to be upfront with their customers. Why are they implementing this policy? Is there really a huge problem with people bringing in outside food? Are they bringning in their own alcohol? Whatever the case is, let the customer know to help them understand. But also think about how to prevent those issues by offering better choices and prices instead of strong-arming everyone into compliance just because of the faults of a few. read more

Looks kind of sketchy on the outside but pretty nice and clean interior with helpful staff. My family loves bowling. We make up for how much we suck with our enthusiasm, I would say. Harley's is one of our favorite places to bowl. They have a pretty good deal on the weekends, where you can get a lane and shoe rental for two hours for 40$ (it's called family night or something similar). They have quite a schedule of events and different deals throughout the week - things like college nights, cosmic bowling late at night, and also leagues. They have a little arcade that accepts quarters but it doesn't seem to be really well maintained. The lanes are nice and well maintained, and the staff is very helpful. The scoring system is easy to set up, and you can set automatic bumpers for individual players only. They also serve alcoholic drinks if you really can't handle being with the family without one. Diseases galore at this dump!! I made the huge mistake of booking a party at this place. It used to be owned by Brunswick and was great. It's now Rock n roll pizza and it's horrible! No one wears masks, no one cleans anything, the staff is rude and the pizza is like cardboard!! I dropped $400 on a party that was a nightmare from beginning to end!! We arrived to find everything filthy! We are in a pandemic and this place is spreading germs and it's filthy! We bought Lysol wipes to clean the area...they were turning black with dirt!!! We were supposed to get bottomless drinks for 20 people! Waitress brought 4 pitchers and never returned. She brought us dried out nasty pizza and never checked to see if we needed anything. We hunted down to order more food that never showed up! I asked to talk with the manager about the issue and she was worthless and disrespectful to us. Since I live on the Westside of LA during most of the week, going to Simi Bowl is worth 5 stars in my opinion. Let me tell you the quick reasons: 1) Every bowling alley in metro-LA is owned by AMF, therefore extremely high rates to bowl, 2) Generally grumpy staff. 3) The bowling-bars serve expensive drinks. 4) Horribly long waits and time limits. A little more detailed: The food at Pepy's Galley at Marvista lanes is amazing, but the food at Harley's doesn't disappoint either. But I've gotten used to them, and the easiness of their use. Harley's has a fun laid back atmosphere! I bowl in leagues regularly and all the staff and people are awesome and some of the leagues end with tournaments in Vegas and Laughlin. They have a bar with pool tables and really affordable drinks. They also have an arcade for the kiddos and their food is typical Bbq/snack bar it's good but overpriced. If you're looking for something fun to do in Simi Valley grab some friends and bowl a few games or join one of their leagues! They also have kids leagues, senior leagues and college nights. We wanted to go bowl and do something different than going out to eat and we decided to go there. Place is very outdated and expensive. For 3 to bowl it was 60 bucks and I honestly don't think it deserved that. The lanes are old, system is old, shoes are old. Also the place was packed with a tournament which made the place extra loud. We did a birthday party here last night and from emailing to reserving to helping the guests they were awesome. They were super patient with our 2year old exploring the lanes for the first time and so were the people bowling next to us (thank goodness) great family environment on the lanes. Also good pizza served as part of the party package, the bartender was a little short with us at first but he made great strawberry margaritas and inexpensive so highly recommend tipping him because he's worth it, he was a great host after that as well.
