I came in for a car wash and The younger heavyset male who took my payment was pretty rude to me and makes me not even want to come here anymore. I was very polite and asked him not to spray the one part of my car so i wouldnt get water in it. To which he completely ignored me and didn't even respond. I know he heard me because he stood there and listened to me ask then just turned around. He then proceeded to not even spray any of my car at all and now its not even clean. For $17!!!??!? Wtf? Theres a brand new place down the street and its easy enough to just go there. And if I need tires I know where I wont be coming. It's only a car wash, so how hard is it to be kind and respectful and help someone get there moneys worth for an insanely expensive wash where my car isn't even clean at the end. Brought my old car in because check engine light was on. I had taken it to an auto parts store to check it out (on Harmon's recommendation-to save the $65 fee) and brought the diagnostic printout. Since I said I wanted to buy a new car in the near future, the gentleman at the desk went through the list and told me that the issues might not be that important and what to look out for and when to bring it back. He could not have been more helpful. I will certainly bring my car back when it needs servicing. read more

These guys absolutely rock! We are on vacation and our truck's brakes went out! The team here found the problem and fixed it in one day, whereas we couldn't even get an appointment at half a dozen other places. Courteous and friendly, and highly skilled. But it gets better! The day after we got the truck back, the battery crapped out! We were near Harmon's, and took a shot at asking them for help. They sent the owner over with a portable charger, and started us right up! We love these guys, and would refer them to everyone! read more

Absolutely dishonest. I brought an auto in for annual inspection. I was told I needed four new tires, that the treads were splitting and coming apart. (Funny how they specialize in selling tires). I immediately took the auto to a nearby reputable auto repair shop. They inspected all four tires and found nothing wrong with them. They lied to my face and said it was the "law" that they couldn't pass the tires and that I'd fail inspection anywhere else I went. I looked up the Maine law on tire safety, and reviewed the Maine Auto Inspection Guidelines. Nothing in either about what they said. They are dishonest. Go elsewhere. read more

New to Franklin. We bought a used car - two weeks old and there was a burning smell coming from the front end. We were able to get in and be seen in an hour. They had the part and the work done in 1.5 hours while we waited. It ended up being a stuck caliper - found out that if they hadn't had the work done so quickly that day it would have caused a lot more damage. So I am downgrading my review - Because the majority of my experiences here have been good ones, I went with 3 stars, when 2.5 would probably be right. So now you make appointments for oil changes. I had a 2 PM oil change appointment, and when I inquired about how long, they said 45 minutes. I wasn't pleased as I now it can't take more than 20 minutes for an oil change. They didn't take the car in until 2:30 -- so what's the purpose of appointments? At 3:05 I went up and inquired about the car and it was just coming out. Very dissapointed. They have a buy 6 get one free oil change, but you have to use a punch card -- why not use the computer and just award it to someone loyal enough to keep coming back for an oil change? They include a free car wash, frankly for 65 minutes for an oil change I would have been happier if the car had been delivered washed. Then I get in the car and the radio is on a completely different setting and a channel is set that I absolutely didn't set, really? I'll given them another try as I said, most times this has been good. Did I forget to mention that at the end of the appointment they told me they didn't have the wipers I had requested? Why did that take 65 minutes to figure out? I of course declined their offer for a lower quality because that would have taken even more time. Might be time to try another store for a synthetic oil change that runs about $75. read more

I was far from home, got a flat tire, and brought my car here first thing in the morning. They took the car in right away. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, and my tire was fixed in less than 30 minutes for $30. No one tried to sell me anything. They even asked me to bring it back after I drove it a bit so they could check and tighten the lug nuts if necessary. A great honest repair shop. read more

I had Harmons put on my snow tires this year, normally I use a private garage but their location is convenient. Less than two weeks later one of those tires went flat, so I took it back to harmon. They didn't find any punctures or leaks, but said that I had to buy a new tire. So I paid to replace what was a perfectly good tire two weeks ago. Seems to me that if they didn't find some sort of road hazard that would have caused it then it was clearly improper installation that caused it to go flat.. Was up for the weekend at camp and after going down the camp road a few times the 2017 Corolla was making some disturbing thunking noises. Not wanting to travel back to Massachusetts not knowing if it was safe to drive I took it to Harmon's as a walk-in and they fit me in in a couple of hours. They put the car up on the lift, gave it a test drive, then back on the lift where they found the problem: a small rock between the control arm and its bushing! Probably spent 30 minutes on it and they said NO CHARGE! I slipped the mechanic a $20 and the peace of mind was worth more than that. The counterman and the mechanic were both great. read more

We were vacationing in Swans Island when we got a flat tire. When we came off the island we stopped at Harmon's to have it fixed. They got us in to fix the tire within half hour and pulled the car in the garage to change over the tire quickly. When my boyfriend came around with the car I was surprised to see the spare was still on. He had lost the lug nut lock somewhere in the car so they weren't able to put the tire on. We found it and figured we would just change the tire ourselves in the parking lot. As we started changing it Albert one of the guys working there (possibly the owner) came right over and offered his help. He went into the garage and got a jack and a power wrench and changed the tire for us. To top it off he shook our hands and made sure we were equipped with the proper amount of bug spray for the rest of our vacation. Awesome awesome people and great experience!!! read more

Harmon's proved it self excellent all around. We were on vacation for two weeks on Mt. Dessert Isle. Our 2005 van, which had been checked-out before we left our home in the mid-Atlantic, started making a noise from the front-end. I called Harmon's, got an appointment, a tech took a test drive with me. He diagnosed a loose wheel lug-nut; also my front brakes were almost worn out (I knew this). Recently I took my car into Harmons to have few parts put on, alignment, tires rotated, and inspection done. They told me in order to have the inspection it was going to cost me 4,000.00 dollars to have all new parts put on. I looked at their list their parts they were double the price if I went to buy them myself. I took my car to a local mechanic it cost me 600.00 dollars to have the parts and inspection done. The only reason I rate this as a 1 is because the guys at the front desk were very nice and helpful. Other then the fact they got my car in 45 minutes after my appointment time. They never did rotate my tires. Be aware of what these type of places all they want is your money and they will find some way to get it one way or another. read more

The front desk staff was pushy, rude and misleading, even when I knew exactly what tires I wanted but I would give a better score if that was my only issue. The real big issue is that after my new tires were installed I got home and noticed that I had three 16's and one 17 installed on my car, that's right and my air valve was damaged at some point during the tire change. They did agree to replace the wrong sized tire but they refused to repair the damaged air valve because " you have no proof that it was damaged in our shop." There are many other tire and repair shops in the Ellsworth area that you should try first. read more
