I've been going to Harmony Dental for the last 5 years and Rebecca is one of the best hygienists I've ever had. She does a great job with cleaning, checking and communicating what she's doing. She very careful to keep from doing anything painful. She's so personable and friendly. I appreciate that she's asks questions about how I'm doing beyond just my dental needs. I haven't had extensive interaction with the rest of the staff, but haven't had any negative experiences. As some people have said, their location is a bit odd next to a gas station and convenience store, but everything inside the building is fine. The lobby could use a bit of an update, but the dental care area is great. read more

I complained about a statement that the front desk manager made to Me but nothing was done so i decided to take my family elsewhere . I went to this dentist office for about 3 years after moving here. Some of the staff are friendly but some of the older ladies are not very friendly or customer service oriented. I always felt like I was being rushed in and out, it seems like one of those establishments hell bent on making money so instead of trying to get to know the customers at all they try to get you in and out as fast as possible with minimal talking or attention. For the first 4 or 5 visits I made the older lady who cleaned my teeth was very rough and very mean. She basically accused me of not taking care of my teeth or flossing (I never had cavities, my teeth are white, and I had braces and have straight teeth) and was rude. If I ever complained because she poked my gums (A LOT) and made them bleed, she would act all put out. During this period I absolutely dreaded going to the dentist and shuddered at the thought because I knew I would be spitting out blood for an hour and be scolded like a small child about proper cleaning when the dentist would always say how clean my teeth were and in such good condition. I could've alwyas found another dentist but this one was close to home, easy to get to, utilized my insurance, and I only went twice a year. Recently I did finally switch and I couldn't be happier. On a good note there is plenty of parking and the location is central for those living in the Independence/Lynnhaven area of Virginia Beach. But I don't like to be treated badly by people who are either unhappy with their jobs or simply hate what they do. I'm glad I stopped going here and wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. read more

Horrible. A year after starting to seek care here I'm worse off than when I went in. They waste your time. Make you wait for appts that could be scheduled but instead they give you one and make you wait for the others. So can't book appts all at once and I'm not even dating for same day! Dentist was saying comments to the assistant about her Irish background. Another about beans as she was Spanish. My reason going was a tooth had a slight crack in it. I was given antibiotics and sent home. No appt to come back. Well the fiancée said be persistent and keep going. Well next visit when I finally hit seen he said If have to pull it as that was only option and I'd been in pain far too long! It should of been a root canal! I regret listening to him. Dr. Hadjadidi was this dentists name. The fillings I got done were stuck to each other and for theee consecutive visits was told me ruin next visit, set an appt. Etc: The front desk people are on like repeat to say what they know to say when you complain. Also, my root canal temporary fell out both times and was swallowed. Home dude tried to do a strange painful procedure on the post as I was not even numb! He took a tool and pushed it all up in my gum around the post. Not one dentist friend I know has ever heard of this. I truly think he was trying to get it to fail and get infected so If have to come back again and he could bleed the insurance some more. They eventually allowed me to take my crown(second one since they tried to fit first and it didn't fit) (funny bc it was an exact mold of my previous tooth) and had it placed elsewhere! I'd told the ladies I could not take ibuprofen bc of ulcer in my intake. They sent over ibuprofen twice after this! This place is a train wreck! Please, save yourselves. Wasted time, mental stress, pain, agony and down right rude front desk staff. I pray that Vdh makes a visit there soon. The assistant dropped my crown on the floor once. Also, dentist dropped it in back of my throat!!! Who does that? He had the block thing in there the time before so badly I could not hardly breath and felt like a panic entire time. I was basically inverted and suffocating and he could care less! If told him I felt the temporary was loose when leaving office previous visit and told desk ladies! They said if it comes out call asap: I did call minutes after I got home and had swallowed it. So they said he was on vacation for two weeks so only appt was then. They said use fixadent on it!!! See? Uh Mam but I swallowed it?! Lol: Once returned that dentist said how come I didn't come back asap and told him they said he was on vacation! He said oh they told you that?! Hummmm... yep then he did that poking of the post and man it hurt and bled! That's when I called quits. Place is seriously like your at a dental school but no teachers and their all having a free for all to just try stuff!!! Unprofessional and needs to be shut down! Spare your selves! read more

A great dental practice. Well run, staffed and knowledgeable. From greeting you when you come inn all the way to good bye, you feel comfortable and at ease. As for the actual work product, I have no complaints at all and feel more at ease with this dental office than any other I've been to. read more

Even though the dental office looks rundown on the outside, it seems ok on the same inside. Furniture needs updating, dental chairs need to be recovered or replaced. There's cracks in (I guess it's pleather?) dental chairs. Assistants and Dr are both very nice. They will accommodate to most needs. They're all very friendly. Dr likes soccer like I do, so we often talk about soccer while the assistant is getting things ready. He's also very funny and good looking! The only reason I'm giving three stars is because my cap on the left side fell out just now after only a month of having it permanently cemented in place. I never had problems after the cap was in. I was eating a gummy fish candy (which he said I could eat anything after the cap was fitted) and it popped right out on the first chew. I'm out of town right now, so I won't be able to get it put back in until next week. I'm pretty sure it won't get infected if I clean around the area regularly, but I'm still scared that I won't be able to come back in right away and get it put back in. I'm not sure if it's my fault, if I didn't bite down hard enough for the cement to fully stick in place, or if it's a quality control problem with the cement they used, but I hope that this doesn't happen again (or cost money to put back in). Now I'm scared that the cap on the right side will pop out, since they did them both on the same day. There also was a time where he was filing down a tooth that was numbed on the bottom, but then started filing on the top where there wasn't any numbing! Ouch! I still don't get why he started working on a tooth that wasn't even numb, but I mean, whatever. He also only waits about 20 seconds for the numbing jelly to work before he sticks the massive needle in your gum. You can feel the whole thing because he doesn't wait long enough. It hurts every time and he doesn't seem to understand that you need a little while longer for it to work. You can't just expect the numbing jelly to work after 20 seconds! Anyway, staff is nice, doctor is nice, but place feels old and some of the practices aren't quality and what I would expect if I pay almost $700 for a tooth. read more

Dentist office is connected to a gas station which was very odd to me when I initially started coming here. Inside- the décor is outdated but clean I guess you can say. It's not terrible but could definitely use a face lift. I've never had a bad experience with the ladies behind the counter- they've always been super nice to me. Dr. Mojadidi and hjs assistant are both very kind. I have bad anxiety so going to the dentist makes my nerves sky rocket. Went in for my 3-month cleaning with Rebecca and, as usual, she did a fantastic job. It really helps that her first concern is the current condition of my mouth and if I had noticed any trouble spots since my last cleaning. With that information, she then focuses on those areas and directly addresses my concerns. She is conscientious, thorough, and always on top of the latest developments in dental hygiene. I have utilized Harmony Dental for several years and experienced no problems. They will not treat you for unnecessary work and the doctor is honest. I went prior to making my appointment over the phone to check out the inside and staff, When I got there the bldg. outside looks very run down, it is attached to a GAS station, inside the furniture needs update. the women working at front desk seem very nice, but she was alone, I didn't see anyone else. nobody in waiting room. I Told her why I was there. I NEED a broken tooth fixed before a wedding I had April 23, leaving April to head out of town. she said lets make your appointment she took both insurance cards made copies made my appointment for march 25th 1pm everything seem nice. they would try to do Crown and send it out and get it back on 20 of april with a appointment of 420pm. great....I got reminders by voice mail and text about appointment but I called and spoke with someone about if the Crown came in and I didn't show up for nothing, the women on phone didn't see 100%sure. 1st mistake. so I drove 15 miles for my 1 appointment for inplant for mole for perm inplant and get a temp crown. I told doctor I gag. and nervious maybe something he can prescribe? he said yes. they took a 2nd x-ray even thou I had send one from prior place. 2nd mistake. they could read it but they wanted to do so. no charge but who likes to have that done again? I took pill. was fine from gagging but 1 hour 1/2 later when I could speak I ask dr. nicely. how much longer? He raised his voice and said:"do you want me to stop NOW? or come back another day? And I TOLD you it would take 1 hour 1/2 long. I responded and said no don't stop and you didn't tell me that. he then said loudly he did and precessed to spray water in my mouth to stop me from talking. after that I told him again. I would had known that and you didn't. he finish up No have a nice day see you on next appointment. walk away rude. I showed up on the 20. and he came in briefly spoke with the lady who I don't know what she does. look in my mouth under 120 seconds said some to her behind me and walk out. I never seen him again. she did the work. was she a hygiest? is she qualified? who knows. I always had a dentist who went to school to do dental work...... so I have no clue and final .when the crown was put in. I ask if there is any warrenty. she told me she THOUGHT 1 year. she yelled across the room to the missing doctor and he mumble something to her and she said yes 1 year. but no paper work saying I do. so who knows......my friend told me about this place he hasn't had any problems. but I did and I warn people to check 1st before going there. read more

LOLZ! This place shares a building and parking lot with a gas station mini mart. Before I went inside, I texted my boyfriend: "Dear God, help me." Surprisingly, the inside is clean, professional, and welcoming. The people at the front desk kind of rush you and really don't get too much into the customer service aspect which was mildly off putting. However- when I went in back, it was soo clean and so professional to the point where I forgot where this building was even located. The dental technician that worked with me was personable and friendly. I looked at the dipolmas on the side and noticed that Dr. Kern was like 70. I met him briefly- SUPER NICE and way too energetic for his age. He was upbeat and definitely didn't look old. Nice guy- I'll consider coming back for a cleaning. read more

I've been going to Harmony Dental for quite some time, I have braces and need cleanings every couple of months. So today, 9/19/18, I had an appoint at 850 am, I was ON MY WAY (from Norfolk) and my gps had my ETA as 852...so I call to say I'm going to be a couple minutes late. The lady that answered rudely told me my hygienist only has 40 min for me. I have NEVER been late, I'm always early, I ALWAYS wait at least 10 min to be seen and they cant extend the same courtesy to me? Knowing I have a mouth full of braces..that im in my car EN ROUTE?? So I cancel my appointment bec I am NOT driving alllll the way to Va Beach to turn around (i had been using Harmony when I lived closer and I like my hygienest so that's why I drive that far for them, I live in Newport News now)...Whoever answered the phone should have realized they were WRONG/RUDE and called me and apologized. So I call back and get the owner, bless her heart English isnt her first language, but clearly she didnt care about my business either! I have been a patient here for almost 10 years. The staff and dentists are friendly, professional and always extremely helpful!! They will go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and I never feel like they are trying to sell me something I don't need. Don't let the outside (it's an older building next to a mini mart) keep you from coming inside. You'll be glad you did. They'll treat you like family. read more

My husband and I went here for about a year and a half. I needed some fillings and they broke it up into two appointments just so it wasn't too much at once. I went in for round 1 and had such an awful experience, I never went back for round two. I have had some serious work done before on my mouth and this filling was the worst of them all. Dr. R gave me a shot to numb the area but as soon as he inserted the needle, he must have put it in the wrong spot. A sharp pain shot up my whole left side of my face and pinched all the way to my temple. I actually jumped and grabbed my face. He said nothing. They did the filling and all was numb. when I went home and looked in the mirror, my whole left side of the face was completely swollen. I started to be able to feel inside of my mouth with my tongue. It was all rough and jagged where they had worked on my teeth. It ended up causing a little sore on my tongue from rubbing against it. I had sharp pain on my whole left side for 8 days! I couldn't barely chew at all and could not put any pressure on my teeth that had been worked on. I called to cancel round two the following week and they told me I could come in for him to see if he could fix it. I was still in pain and did not want him touching my mouth again. It took me 4 months before I could put any pressure to eat on the left side of my mouth. Now I can finally chew on that side, but sometimes get sensitivity to hot or cold. The rough spots eventually wore themselves dull enough to not irritate my tongue. I won't ever return there. read more

In addition to the dentist using my chest as a work top, dropping his implements on top of me between use... in addition to the fact that he had me gnawing my numbed tongue after a tooth was filled to see if the filling was smoothed well ( he'd say "bite down", I'd say, "still doesn't feel right." Repeated several times. Finally, I had to ask, "could I possibly be chewing my tongue?" Then he went, "oh my gosh!") This office also never honored my scheduled appointments. I would leave the office with my six month appointment on the books and ev-er-y time as the appointment drew near I would receive phone calls to tweek it this way or that to accommodate the doctor's schedule. Sometimes this came with the option to say no, other times, frequently, they would say "the office will be closed, you have to reschedule." No consideration to the fact I had already asked for the day off. I won't be back. I'll find an office that respects me and my time. read more
