I just came to get a marrow bone (which was well priced at under $4/lb), but I was impressed by the variety of meats they offer, from elk sausage to venison to rabbit. I got a bag of stock chicken bones and only got 1-half a back 75% feet 20% hecks 1 thigh They promised 1/3 each part Its no wonder my stock didnt have much gelatin for healing stock. This meat market is the only place around Glendale that sells truly superior cuts of meat. When I go there I get the Wagyu Tri-Tip beef. It is the most amazing tri-tip ever. Had came here before after hunting wild boar to have them butcher it up for me, but I was alarmed as they called me, for me to pick up my meat when it was ready, I got to their door and opened the door for another man, who walked in ahead of me and told the guy working "So I hear you have wild boar for me" and the guy saw me standing behind, they shuffled him off to the side really fast gave him his meat and was on his way, but I found that they were actually selling him MY meat that I PAY to have butchered up, I will never come here again, I go to green acres in Simi Valley now. How dare these guys give MY meat away, no wonder I go there with nearly 100 pound pig and walk away with maybe 25-30 pounds of meat. read more

We were so disappointed when we served the 15 veal shanks we purchased here for Osso Bucco. Purchased this Tuesday and served on Thursday to dear friends and family for Thanksgiving. I came to get some grass fed beef bone to make my bone stock and it has a really funny smell and looks a bit different from the Whole Foods ones. I hope I'm not getting a batch of bones for dogs. The old lady at the register didn't seem so friendly so I didn't bother to ask more. i came here as i have been looking for bison steaks. mind you, i live about 25 miles away. they had an excellent selection of meats you wont find at your local supermarket such as alligator, various venisons, rabbit, in addition to grass fed beef. i was able to get a bison ribeye steak and a duck breast, as well as a grass fed beef ribeye for good prices. however i do have to say the layout, as previously mentioned by other yelpers, could use a little tidying. its basically just a bunch of freezers labeled with venison, lamb, buffalo, etc. you open up a freezer and look for whatever it is you want. overall the setup is not in any way appealing and does reduce comfort a bit but if you dont care about that kind of stuff then this place should be perfect for you. read more

I went in today looking to get my dog a variety meats, as he is on a special diet, and to get my dad something special for Father's Day. When I arrived there was only one costumer in the store, both the lady behind the counter and one butcher were attending to her. When the butcher saw me he gave me a dirty kind of "what are you doing here" look. After they finished with the other costumer neither smiled or even acknowledged me, no greeting, no can I help you with anything. She just cleaned stuff behind the counter acting like I wasn't even there. I read other reviews and see this isn't a rare occurrence for people of color. I was disappointed because I wanted to support my local businesses but I took my money elsewhere because I felt so unwelcome.
