4.75/5 STARS Items bought: duck breast, veal cutlet, buffalo ribeye, duck and bacon sausage After trying bison ribs and an elk burger on my Colorado trip, I was curious of where I can find game meat in SoCal. After a quick internet search, I came across the name Harmony Farms multiple times and checked out their yelp page. It has been a couple months since my colorado trip, but I've finally made the trek to Harmony farms and I was not disappointed! Not only did they have bison and elk, but they also offer wild boar, venison, alligator, pheasant, rabbit, squab, ground camel, and ground ostrich (see my 'menu' photo for all the options they offer). Of course, they have a wide selection of good quality grass fed beef, chicken, pork, and turkey, as well as some cuts of lamb and duck. All of the selection that you see once you walk in are all frozen, but according to the counter lady, they do also offer fresh items (you just have to ask for it). I was very surprised to see that the prices here are fairly affordable for the quality you get, especially since they offer such a wide variety and are also family owned. I don't know how they price it, but I did see a man in camo hunting clothes talking to one of the butchers on how he wanted his deer portioned up. So I suppose if you hunt, you can bring your animal here to get the cutting done by professionals. The shop itself is quite small and located on a corner, but they manage to make good use of the space. Parking isnt really ideal, but they do have a few spots in the back/off to the side of the shop, as well as free street parking. My friend and I spent a lot of time looking before deciding what to get, and a couple of the ladies working were nice and asked if we needed any help. I probably wont be coming here for regular meats since it's a bit far from me, but for sure I'll be back if I'm looking for game meats again. read more

Bomb. If you love top quality meats you need this place in your life! I LOVE wild game (my dad was a butcher) so I grew up eating it. It can be SUPER hard to find, and when you find it, many places want to charge you crazy. Not at this spot! They have beef, elk, venison, lamb, duck, wild boar, sheep casing sausage and more! Yum.... most sausage has a pork casting regardless of the filling, and I don't eat pork so I was sausage denied for many years... and what lady wants to be denied her sausage? Lol... not me! They also have SUPER exotics like ground camel, ostrich, and mutton (mutton is special order) and capon (gelded rooster... if you've never had one, you're missing out!). The prices at this place are fantastic. I got a 40lb case of mutton for only $135! A regular single French rack of lamb (mutton is lamb... but the adult animal) can be $50 ALONE at a market like Gelsons! I ordered it special and they cut it the way I wanted it free of charge! I also got a Capon that I made for new years... you guys... seriously. Capon is the best chicken you've never had, and it's a MUST TRY! This place has SUPER friendly customer service and it's also the premier place to get top quality meat based dog food! If your dogs eat raw, and bones, come get it here! Top quality meats with friendly service. You can't go wrong choosing to go here. I can't even list all the meats they have. You walk in and they have multiple freezers of frozen meats. But I love when they can cut me something fresh. For instance, yesterday it was center cut beef tenderloin for a Beef Wellington. Every Thanksgiving I order a fresh turkey. We love picking up Waygu steaks for date night at home. Often times pet owners will come in for specialty pet food. Every year I buy blocks of ice before I take the CVHS XC Team camping in Mammoth. Their blocks keep our coolers lasting longer. I've yet to have a bad experience and I'm shocked when I hear how far people have traveled. They know where to buy the good stuff! read more

This place is just amazing. I was almost dissuaded by a couple of the bad reviews, but I went anyway and I'm so glad I did. First off, to address some of those reviews, the woman who works at the register is actually really nice. She doesn't speak much when you walk in but if you strike up a conversation she's a total hoot! This place is such a gem. I come here monthly and buy my giant 7lb package of wagyu skirt steak. It's the freakin' best and $9.99/lb!!!!! I thought it was a fluke and I had lucked out the first time I bought it, but I kept going back and that is the correct price. I also get ground turkey, chicken chorizo (the absolute best thing that has ever happened to my breakfast life), other breakfast meats, and the occasional rib eye. The owner is such a nice guy. I've always had great experiences at Harmony Farms. I first found this gem of a meat market looking for alternative pet food after talking to Pat McKay (one of the true "raw meat gurus" back in the day who was treating one of my cats over 20 years ago). We truly love this place every time I pick up an order I love walking around looking at all the varieties of meats they sale. I might talk to one of their customers and ask them what they're buying what they ordered. Jean in the front and Sony the owner and all the employees go out of their way to make sure you get what you're looking for. The meat I've bought over the years for my family is always delicious. I highly recommend this charming meat market. Sometimes it can be very busy but you can always place an order over the phone or fax it in and trust me they will have it ready if you tell them what time you want to pick it up. I used to have to source organ meat from ethnic grocery markets AND NOW I CAN FIND EVERYTHING I NEED IN ONE PLACE HERE!! I'm not a vampire so I don't drink the blood of pigs but the stuff is for my dogs and cats because I feed them a raw diet. The price is really good and for having a variety of organ + muscle meats in one place from different animals (as variety is key) you can't beat this place for dog and cat food. Some examples, I bought turkey heart and liver, whole ground chicken, chicken necks, and whole ground beef mix + veggies formulated for raw feeding. Prices are by the pound. Meat is reasonably priced. The meat room could use some double room to control the smell. The lady at the register always gives an attitude when we ask for a specific cut. We have been there a few times and she always seems annoyed that we ask for something specific or if we want something less than 3 lbs, regardless of the cuts. OMG!!! for someone who doesn't eat swine or beef but loves lamb this is the spot!! They have all kinds of meats. Quail, elk, lamb, chicken, ostrich...shall I go on?!!! I ended up getting alot of lamb. My only complaint about Harmony Farms is there lamb sausage is encased in pig intestine. Which makes NO SENSE!!! You already have the lamb so why not just encase that meat in its intestine. All of their sausages are encased in swine, which hurts my heart! Cause for us non swine eaters we cannot enjoy their many sausages like turkey and jalapeno, lamb and other sausages.
