Friends of ours are members of this private club. I had the pleasure of being able to come down with their family. They have everything you need here, it feels safe and community areas are clean. My daughter accidentally locked us out of our cabin and the guy at the front desk was super nice about it & gave me a spare key to get back in. As you can see by the date of the reviews for this location, they are old. We purchased our membership on May 2, 2023. We where sold a membership fee at a discount of $7995 which "included" Membership to the Resorts of Distinction that you could visit with a nominal fee throughout the US. It was "SOLD"to us this $7995 was for this ROD that was mispresented. This fee was solely given to this Harmony Ridge Resort. The ROD access was used by us for a local camp, BUT, the ROD locations has since declined this membership and they are no longer an option to visit. The membership can be sold with the approval of management from "Harmony Ridge Resort' approval with fees attached. Total bill of goods from a manager that no longer works there. Came here this weekend because the resort was giving out a promotion for 3 days and 2 night stay. First impressions of the place was that it felt very safe and was very well maintained. They are family and dog friendly. The staff was very sweet! The resort has so much to it! They have recreation rooms with puzzles, tv, ping pong, pool etc. they have a swimming pool, kids playground and space for events. I was very impressed with how clean the bathrooms were. Free to use showers which was a plus. The water pressure in the shower wasn't great but for camping, it got the job done! The site itself was simple, no fire pits so we brought our own propane one! They all have water spouts and a bench. My ONLY complaint was the amount of yellow jacket bees that were around our site was insane. We asked a staff member for one of the lure traps and they went and provided one which was appreciated however it didn't resolve the problem which I read that this time of year is prone to these bees but it was a struggle when making food and eating. Once it got darker though, they buzzed off. We also went on the trail that is in the resort and that was so much fun! It came with a scavenger hunt to win a t shirt so my fiancé and I were determined! The hunt was harder than it may seem but it was definitely worth it! read more

Extremely rude woman who answered the phone. When I asked her what the membership fees were, she said she didn't know, and then proceeded to ask me where I live, how old I am, and what I do for a living. When I politely asked her why she asked these questions, she hung up on me. A huge double standard to be asking intrusive questions to a prospective customer but not have an answer to a basic question about cost. read more

A staff member called me and the rudeness was off the charts. She let me know a payment hadn't been made and that we had no park access. I let her know she needed to contact my husband, since he is the one that handles that payment. With no online payment options, it's an inconvenience to remember a check once a month. She said I could call my husband and tell him to call her, with an insane attitude. I then said I could have him call but asked that the contact info be changed, once again, and that I would have him call her shortly. She then said "Well, someone needs to call me." With the same rosy disposition. We don't access the park much and remembering to pay isn't at the top of our list. Our invoice never stated what our actual balance is. She was so mean!! I told her she was a treat and hung up on her. Not sure how to move forward since I most definitely don't feel welcome there at all now. I think it's best we look into selling our membership. We toured HRR this weekend with our family and it was an amazing trip. The campsites are beautiful and the grounds are clean. We loved that the kids had so much to do and other kids to play with. Really was family friendly and they had so many activities like movie night and ice cream social. The staff was so nice and knowledgeable. We did have breakfast one morning and the coffee was hot and the French toast breakfast was made to order and delicious, even my picky eater wanted more. Hands down the best weekend we have had as a family in a long time. read more

They are a very shady business. They never send out billing statements, you never get an account statement showing how your payments are applied or what is owed. Then when you try to make a reservation they say your membership is suspended or closed because you owe membership fees. Rip off! read more

Up at HRR for a few days with Corina. This trip we are staying in one of the big cabins. Full kitchen that we don't need as we are exploring the area restaurants. The fridge is nice though, but we brought our own ice chest. The cabin has a bedroom. It also sleeps 2 in bunks and 2 more on the futon. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots & pans and everything you need to cook your own meals. Full bath is nice. Wi-Fi is marginal at this cabin, but the signal was perfect at the RV spaces we used with our travel trailer in the past. We have been members for 6 or 7 years now and love this place read more

If I could rate a negative star I would. We had an appointment for noon to see the resort. We happened to show up early due to coming from a long distance and didn't want to be late. When we used the buzzard at the gate we were told we had to come back at noon. Weren't even offered to come in. Maybe sit in the clubhouse. Talk a walk around the facility. The hospitality was horrible. The guy actually just clicked the intercom off ending the conversation. I would not recommend this facility to anyone and will be spreading this to all my friends and coworkers. Update: the person speaking through a microphone (couldn't even talk to a live person) was anything but polite. read more

We've been members of Harmony Ridge for about a year now and we absolutely love it. The campground is always immaculate and the staff are great as well. There is plenty to do if you're feeling adventurous. Nevada City and Grass Valley are nearby. Members can use Scott's Flat Lake for free. There's fishing and mountain biking trails to use as well. read more

Still my favorite place... my peaceful spot. In the 2+ years we've been members, there have been many upgrades to the facilities themselves. The roads throughout the campground are newly paved, the wifi has been upgraded, upgrades have been made in the Clubhouses, the cabins are even nicer now and more sites have been added for RV members, which we now have. The staff has always been courteous and has always made Harmony Ridge Resort feel like a true home away from home. read more

We were driving on Hwy 20 and wanted to check it out for regular camping, but found out it was a member only campground resort. Normally, I'm not into memberships and have shied away from them for years. I never feel the value is really there. And the maintenance fees...don't get me started. However, we're avid campers and over the last few years have noticed that the price at nice places is $80 a night because they're charging per kid, per dog, and at least three different taxes. We liked the nice places though because you get a certain kind of folk (the respectful ones) and experience. In comes Harmony Ridge and their network with access to about 6 campground RESORTS in a comfortable driving distance. I could easily make up my investment in a few years. My husband and I have a retirement plan of being in an RV for at least half a year at a time, and quite frankly, that dream was getting obscured by the per night rate at places we'd feel our up to our style of camping. Now, we just paid for a huge expense of our retirement plan in our 40s, and can enjoy free camping for years to come. I feel like I just took a weight off my shoulders! We did something today for our enjoyment in the future. Lastly, if you like the mountains, Harmony Ridge is a great home base for a membership! Beautiful park, plenty of sites, and secluded. The resort feature is amazing. Never stayed at a place with so many amenities, so it's really a great value for the money. Those campgrounds where we were paying 80 a night were not resorts and didn't have great amenities (because there are no dues to maintain them after the public trashes them), but at some point, you cross from crude camper to glamper, and you're going to want the amenities. Harmony Ridge does not disappoint. We had a lovely experience from start to finish. Staff was nice and the fellow campers even better. I felt at home. I sort of was because I was surrounded by lots of fellow Reno folks. We shared drinks, we shared stories, and we shared laughs. I can surmise that the people who have given bad reviews here weren't the type you wanted to be your site neighbors anyway. People who actually use the membership don't complain. That's the bottom line. I'm looking forward to many years to come of staying in our trailer or renting out one of the cabins at a great rate. read more

We are pleased with all the great fun activities Harmony does for the Holiday Weekends. The incredibly rude lady with a horrible attitude, who was answering phones this Friday afternoon, had absolutely no useful information for me about membership dues or packages and did nothing but tell me all she could do was transfer me to a voicemail for someone else. She said that since I wasn't a member she could not give me any information about anything at all - not rates, not membership dues, not membership packages. She said that she only speaks to members. Well lady, I will kindly take my money to another resort because I wouldn't want to spend it at a place with such horrible customer service. read more

My Husband and I joined in 2017. We love staying at Harmony Ridge. We love the atmosphere. Our kids enjoy their time here and there's lots of activities for them to enjoy. I feel confident letting them enjoy the Campground by themselves since every member is screened. We have enjoyed the RV sites and just recently our kids wanted to Tent camp and we had a wonder big site. We hope to enjoy the cabins soon. Staff is always friendly and helpful. I have never had a negative experience here. There's many perks with the membership like staying at other resorts for free. Overall the surrounding are is beautiful and we love exploring lakes trails and beautiful views of nature. read more

So after I posted my experience with harmony ridge my husband received a phone call from Billy the owner. He admitted they had "issues with their billing software" and told my husband that if I removed this review they would delete the fraudulent balance they were trying to hold me accountable for! Wow really! So you can steal other people's money! No way guys I'll take the hit, and be transparent just as you should be, nice post tho trying to make me look like a loser that doesn't pay my bills! Gotta love businesses that steal from people, then beg them not to say anything and when they refuse they try and put it back on the consumer! And once again after my attorney had this fraudulent bill removed from my credit they sold it to another creditor just to make me waste more time and money getting it removed. This is one of the best camp sites in California the moment you drive in your surrounded by beautiful trees clean good size camp sites and awesome cabins. The staff is amazing as well very friendly, energetic and best of all you can tell they all love their jobs the owners did a great job picking their staff. This place is terrible!!! Getting sold into this business is something you will come to regret. I became a member at Harmony Ridge. I interviewed to get a membership and had tons of questions. Later I found out that many of the answers I got were flat out lies. I am now a member that is looking to sell fast. The price is wildly inappropriate, the security is much more lacking that they would have you think, the yearly dues are not worth it, and you ARE NOT guaranteed access to the extent you should be. We truly enjoy going to Harmony Ridge and Scotts Flat Lake nearby is Gorgeous. The Drive is reasonable from the Bay Area and we have always received good service. The Campground has lots to do for kids of all ages, the Adult over 21 room has been refurbished and looks amazing. Small limited menu restaurant on site for breakfast and/or lunch makes it simple if you want to come up with minimal preparedness. Food is good and the prices are fair! They have a couple of things that could be improved on and then 5 stars for sure! read more

We were looking for a place to stay for a weekend and I came across Harmony Ridge. I called to make a reservation (not realizing this was a private resort). I was offered a 2 day stay if I agreed to a tour of the resort and to hear what they have to offer their members. I talked to my husband and agreed as the reviews and pictures of the resort online seemed good. We checked in on a Thursday evening and was greeted by Nick. Nick was very helpful with showing us our site. Once we realized we were placed in a 30 amp site instead of a 50 amp, Nick went above and beyond to get us a site to accommodate our 5th wheel. The next day we went to the office today go on a tour and were welcomed by Tanisha (spelling?). She helped us fill out our paperwork and introduced us to Sean. Sean told us about Harmony Ridge, took us on a tour of the property, and answered all of our questions that we had. He was not pushy, in fact, he told us to sleep on it and let him know the next morning if we were interested in becoming members. After seeing what Harmony Ridge has to offer and the perks with ROD and Condominium Travel Club, we were sold! I would recommend taking a look into this resort if you are looking for a relaxing place to camp in a RV, a tent, or just stay in a cabin. I'm so happy I came across Harmony Ridge Resort! read more

This facility is run by the nicest and friendliest staff . We were staying there when I got the news my dad had passed away in another state. There was some legal papers that had to be delt with and Carrie in the office could not have been more supportive and helpful as she helped me receive and send the papers to the mortuary. Worst place to sign up, do 1 mph over the posted 5mph speed limit and you'll get a couple nerds on golf carts rushing to your cabin to have a "talk" with you unintentional mistake due to the incline and decline at their site. Pay 100-200 for their time share and they'll make sure to ruin your weekend for years to come. Being targeted is an understatement as our family was called out more than 5 times in one day. But the employees on the golf carts can smash around like its Mario kart. If you're into that kinda strict environment and still having to drive 15 minutes away to Scott's flat to enjoy the lake then I highly recommend, otherwise...invest in an actual resort worth paying for read more

I filled out a coupon at the State Fair for a "free weekend" then got called to set up a time to come visit. I didn't know it was a private resort and that this was like a timeshare pitch. So, when I did call back & speak with Morgan (who I'm quite sure is the one who wrote the 5-star review on 8/20/13, praising Stephanie, who another reviewer complained about), she went over the deal with me (21 days of camping free, to be used over the course of a year) and scheduled a time for me to take a tour. After getting my address and email to send 2 confirmations of our appt, she said, "Just to clarify... you make at least $45k, right?" "Uh, no.. I don't." "Oh, then I'm sorry. You're not qualified to participate in this promotion and you won't be able to take the tour or receive the free camping." "Why does my current income matter?" "Because this offer is worth $1,000 and it's a private resort..." Regardless of their secret rules, this is a promo that they solicited. I asked to speak to a supervisor to get a better understanding of why I'm not allowed to check out their facility as she was only repeating herself as if reading a script. Her response? "I'm the supervisor." But then a minute later said that her "bosses have told her to say this and it's their qualifications." So, Morgan DOES have a supervisor. She didn't even bother to ask if I might be experiencing an increase income in the near future or consider a roommate's income. More importantly, she didn't consider the impression she's made by not only disqualifying me, but implying I'm not good enough to use her resort (esp after I said I don't have an RV, but tent camping equipment). More importantly, Morgan didn't even consider the fact that regardless of my income (or even when it DOES increase), I may want to join now or in the near future. However, with the impression she made, that's not gonna happen. I feel totally discriminated against. I'm ready to contact my attorney. read more

The place itself is beautiful. The rest I will do without. The staff has can be rude and seem to find everything you're kids do as wrong. Our membership is completely paid for and that seems all they care about. We tried giving it away and because of the ridiculous fees no one wants it. To use this campsite you have to become a member. This is not cheap, but you get access to this and many other sites and clubs across the country. We stayed there a few days for free to try it out. The site is dominated by RV camping, it is tightly packed, there are a few tent campers, the bathhouses are so-so. It feels quite safe and it is astoundingly quiet because most everyone disappears into their RVs. The age range tends to be 50+ although you can see kids running around at times. There are nice activities, such as Saturday night movie under the stars, and there is a well-maintained pond area. There is a 5 mph speed limit, which makes sense, however, you get yelled at by the (otherwise friendly) staff even if you do just 5 mph. This is a bit irritating. read more

I just hung up the phone with Stephanie who called to inform me that our confirmed reservation is no longer valid because she could not find anyone to give us a tour at the agreed upon time of 3pm (she sent us written confirmation). She offered only the next day as a possibility which I had already said in previous conversations did not work for us. She said her boss Sean could not doing anything else. I explained that this was less than 3 full days notice. She did not even say she was sorry. She just said there was nothing she could do and that she had never guaranteed that time. I reminded her that she had sent it to me in writing. We planned a trip around going to this place to be told we could not go there less than three days before. Such unprofessionalism. Amazing experience with full hooks to 30 ft travel trailer with 30 amp, they have roomy sites, did not have a problem backing up with not a lot of experience since this is our second year with the trailer, definitely need leveling blocks though. I almost wanna keep it to myself lol and not write a review but they deserve it! Great for kids, breakfast in the restaurant/kitchen saved me work in the morning with reasonable prices (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). I did not hear anyone having loud music on like other camp grounds, not sure if you can be loud here. We are quiet people and did not mind it (we're in 30's). It's worth the price being safe since they check background with sherif department. They offer Resorts of distinction membership also, giving free camping in other parks.once we check out other places I'll update this. I wouldn't have thought of getting a membership a couple years ago until we got tired of planning for months ahead to book a good RV site in other parks. We went up there for the Labor day party last Saturday and had a good time. The food smelled great and the weather good to us. Have been visiting here for years and always enjoy going back. Everyone is always friendly to us and even helping us find other places to visit nearby whenever we're in town. If I ever get a mountain bike I'm definitely taking it to this place. We saw a map they put up in the office that shows all the trails in the area and it was huge. Apparently the area is some sort of mecca for that. read more

Beware they pre pick your site .the tryed to give us a lomg and skinny site which , with our pop outs and bike trailet would have us into another site just to get to the picnic tables.
