Came here this weekend because the resort was giving out a promotion for 3 days and 2 night stay. First impressions of the place was that it felt very safe and was very well maintained. They are family and dog friendly. The staff was very sweet! The resort has so much to it! They have recreation rooms with puzzles, tv, ping pong, pool etc. they have a swimming pool, kids playground and space for events. I was very impressed with how clean the bathrooms were. Free to use showers which was a plus. The water pressure in the shower wasn't great but for camping, it got the job done! The site itself was simple, no fire pits so we brought our own propane one! They all have water spouts and a bench. My ONLY complaint was the amount of yellow jacket bees that were around our site was insane. We asked a staff member for one of the lure traps and they went and provided one which was appreciated however it didn't resolve the problem which I read that this time of year is prone to these bees but it was a struggle when making food and eating. Once it got darker though, they buzzed off. We also went on the trail that is in the resort and that was so much fun! It came with a scavenger hunt to win a t shirt so my fiancé and I were determined! The hunt was harder than it may seem but it was definitely worth it!

Up at HRR for a few days with Corina. This trip we are staying in one of the big cabins. Full kitchen that we don't need as we are exploring the area restaurants. The fridge is nice though, but we brought our own ice chest. The cabin has a bedroom. It also sleeps 2 in bunks and 2 more on the futon. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots & pans and everything you need to cook your own meals. Full bath is nice. Wi-Fi is marginal at this cabin, but the signal was perfect at the RV spaces we used with our travel trailer in the past. We have been members for 6 or 7 years now and love this place

    Nice cabin were staying in

This is my husband and I 2nd time here with our friend this place is so pretty and the cabins are amazing and the staff is always nice. I would highly recommend this place for any family trips or a romantic get away or just a reason to get away for the weekend with friends and family members.

We were driving on Hwy 20 and wanted to check it out for regular camping, but found out it was a member only campground resort. Normally, I'm not into memberships and have shied away from them for years. I never feel the value is really there. And the maintenance fees...don't get me started. However, we're avid campers and over the last few years have noticed that the price at nice places is $80 a night because they're charging per kid, per dog, and at least three different taxes. We liked the nice places though because you get a certain kind of folk (the respectful ones) and experience. In comes Harmony Ridge and their network with access to about 6 campground RESORTS in a comfortable driving distance. I could easily make up my investment in a few years. My husband and I have a retirement plan of being in an RV for at least half a year at a time, and quite frankly, that dream was getting obscured by the per night rate at places we'd feel our up to our style of camping. Now, we just paid for a huge expense of our retirement plan in our 40s, and can enjoy free camping for years to come. I feel like I just took a weight off my shoulders! We did something today for our enjoyment in the future. Lastly, if you like the mountains, Harmony Ridge is a great home base for a membership! Beautiful park, plenty of sites, and secluded. The resort feature is amazing. Never stayed at a place with so many amenities, so it's really a great value for the money. Those campgrounds where we were paying 80 a night were not resorts and didn't have great amenities (because there are no dues to maintain them after the public trashes them), but at some point, you cross from crude camper to glamper, and you're going to want the amenities. Harmony Ridge does not disappoint. We had a lovely experience from start to finish. Staff was nice and the fellow campers even better. I felt at home. I sort of was because I was surrounded by lots of fellow Reno folks. We shared drinks, we shared stories, and we shared laughs. I can surmise that the people who have given bad reviews here weren't the type you wanted to be your site neighbors anyway. People who actually use the membership don't complain. That's the bottom line. I'm looking forward to many years to come of staying in our trailer or renting out one of the cabins at a great rate.

Love it here! Took the trip with a few friends and had a peaceful time out in nature, not to mention the staff is great and friendly. Can't wait to be back

My Husband and I joined in 2017. We love staying at Harmony Ridge. We love the atmosphere. Our kids enjoy their time here and there's lots of activities for them to enjoy. I feel confident letting them enjoy the Campground by themselves since every member is screened. We have enjoyed the RV sites and just recently our kids wanted to Tent camp and we had a wonder big site. We hope to enjoy the cabins soon. Staff is always friendly and helpful. I have never had a negative experience here. There's many perks with the membership like staying at other resorts for free. Overall the surrounding are is beautiful and we love exploring lakes trails and beautiful views of nature.

Another example that it's not just me!

So after I posted my experience with harmony ridge my husband received a phone call from Billy the owner. He admitted they had "issues with their billing software" and told my husband that if I removed this review they would delete the fraudulent balance they were trying to hold me accountable for! Wow really! So you can steal other people's money! No way guys I'll take the hit, and be transparent just as you should be, nice post tho trying to make me look like a loser that doesn't pay my bills! Gotta love businesses that steal from people, then beg them not to say anything and when they refuse they try and put it back on the consumer! And once again after my attorney had this fraudulent bill removed from my credit they sold it to another creditor just to make me waste more time and money getting it removed. It's ridiculous and becoming harassment! If you put a bad review on yelp they will try and go after you buyer beware-

However, the detachment of the employees and the seeming inability to connect with guests is a little offputting for the price. The front desk staff rarely make eye contact and don't smile at all, but get the job done. Perhaps this is true to historic character? Our room had two double beds and was surprisingly large. We visited during the heat of the summer, but the air conditioning worked well and we were comfortable when in our room and throughout the hotel. However, there is no mirror in the bedroom - only the bathroom mirror and there is very little counter space, only the nightstand in the room. No counter space in the bathroom, either. If you would like ice in your room. You must go down to the bar and request it from one of the bartenders when the bar is open. Not very convenient. The hotel has wonderful historic charm with various sitting areas both inside and out. Along with the jurors c charm comes no elevators, so bear that in mind when packing. The parking lot behind the hotel enters on the second level, which can be helpful when checking in. I don't think we will stay here again, particularly for the price, but it was a fun experience for the "historical" setting.

The cheddar and chives biscuit was the bomb , excellent sausage gravy on top...... can you say comfort food. My wife has a small appetite so the 1/2 order was more than enough and at 9$ quite a bargain!! You can feel the history of this hotel that dates back to 1856, the bar area is awesome with beautiful woodwork. The historic brick building just draws you in , like "I need to go in there"....... I had seen the dinner menu the night before and it was a little pricy so we decided to try breakfast first and now I can't wait to go back for dinner, if they are putting that much love into breakfast , I'm sure dinner at the National Exchange Hotel will not disappoint !! See you soon, Cheers!!

The gentleman who checked us in was pleasant and humorous. The small garden, fountain, etc were wonderful touches. While it's probably only a shadow of its former 50's road trip glory days, it was a welcome surprise to find it well cared for. The only issue was that the window above the bed had no window screen and the window in the "kitchen " alcove had no window covering. A street runs right outside this window thus a privacy curtain is needed. A very easy walk to the old town center with lots of tourist trap shops and a few nice eateries. The moment I walked in, I was hit with an overwhelming chemical smell--something like bleach, degreaser, or another strong cleaner. It was so overpowering that it made the room uncomfortable right away. The bathroom was the biggest disappointment. The bathtub drain was dirty, there were skid marks on the toilet seat, and there was hair left in the sink. None of those issues should ever be present in a room that's supposed to be cleaned before a guest arrives. The bedroom wasn't any better. The comforter had a noticeable blue stain and a rip in it. It was obvious the damage was visible before the bed was made, yet it was put on anyway. To make matters worse, there were actual boogers on the ceiling and another one on the bed frame. I have pictures documenting all of these issues. The hotel itself is clearly older, and while I understand older properties require more maintenance, many of these issues could have been addressed with basic housekeeping and attention to detail. There were also paint chips missing from the walls and several other small maintenance issues that would have been simple to repair. None of these are major renovations--they're basic touch-ups that would make a significant difference in the appearance and quality of the room. My reservation was originally for two nights, but the room was in such poor condition that I couldn't bring myself to stay a second night. I checked out after just one night because I simply wasn't comfortable spending another evening there. Considering the condition of the room and the price I paid, I do not feel I received the quality of accommodations I was promised. I would appreciate appropriate compensation for this experience. A room at this price point should be clean, well-maintained, and ready for guests upon arrival. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Overall, this was a very disappointing and disgusting experience, and I will not be staying here again. The size of the rooms and available amenities simply do not make up for the lack of cleanliness and care. I sincerely hope management takes these concerns seriously so future guests don't have the same experience.

We arrived before check in time and Andrea greeted us with a smile and offered to check us in early. I told her I have sleeping issues and could we be placed in a quiet area with a room. She said she knew the building with rooms 163-170. When we got to the room it was nice and warm, (a problem that we had at The Pines, a small space heater only because the wall unit wasn't working and no maintenance on the property.) We're old and there's good lighting for night time on the exterior. I left the party at 9 PM and stopped by the office for an extra blanket. The two women working were friendly and helpful. The bathroom had a new shower, glass doors and a rain shower head. I always bring my grey slippers for travel. The carpet was very clean and I was so pleased because I'm not used to that.
