My dad stops by frequently just to say hi when he's running errands downtown and is warmly welcomed like Norm at Cheers every time. In addition to having our cars serviced, they plow my parents' driveway when it snows, have helped me surprise my dad with grills on more than one birthday, and Jim Sr (I miss him!) once dropped everything to personally rescue me when my car broke down on Route 78 in the early 2000s. I received a quick fix today on my auto for a battery replacement, but I was taken advantage of and over charged for the labor. I was not given a quote but I did not ask for one. When I phone and asked what the bill was I almost fell off the chair. $499.00 for a visit to my home to jump start my vehicle , battery replacement and labor.. That was highway robbery... Called Harquail to come fix my BBQ- After almost two months they said they would come out- waited for them at my house - they never showed up. They then said they would come the following day - they called that morning and demanded a credit card before they came. I had this conversation with them before and had said I was not comfortable giving a business an open credit card before they had done any work - they were adamant and refused to come out without a having a credit card first - Just a total waste of time read more

TERRIBLE. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GARAGE!! Told me to bring my truck on tuesday. Did so. Called at four to ask if could pick up.,..no....they did not touch it. OK. Wednesday. Had to call again for status. Too much for them to call me I suppose. Was informed I needed a new Power Control Module ( PCM ). I asked if they could do the work. No. Have to take to a dealer for the repair. . Went to my consultant....youtube. Youtube is vastly more informed than these clowns. Not a real hard job for most mechanics. Fine. Don't fix the PCM then. But, please replace two bolts on the intermediate steering shaft ( the guy on the phone asked me where the bolts were located ). On the steering shaft maybe??? And replace the accelerator cable. What the heck, might as well get some work done, right? UPDATE: not the PCM. Removed it and sprayed with CRC electrical cleaner. Auto scanner did not alert to any P030x codes. What say Harquail? Nope. Thursday. Stopped by to pick up. No bolts or cable installed. Unbelievable! No explanation beyond the trite tried and true word.."understaffed." Yep. so "understaffed" they could not bother to pick up a phone to let me know they were too incompetently scheduled to do the work. On the bright side, I am sure the cable is not now attached to the steering column. A small relief. But folks, it's an "F.U." customer service environment these days and Harquail Bros. are a prime example. Really wonder if all their mechanics are ASE certs. Ditch these incompetent middle men! My boss bought a barbecue, stand and cover but was sold the wrong stand and wrong cover for the barbecue. I didn't have my bosses receipt but thought since they're locals, Harquail might just look up the purchase and rectify their mistake. THE GUY COULDN'T HAVE CARED LESS. Said it would take him 2 days to look it up, even though he had absolutely no intention of doing so. Just pass on these clowns and go straight to the company. Not worth the hassle. I had been bringing my car here for routine oil changes and was told I needed new brakes. After getting the brakes replaced, I noticed that my brakes were screeching (which was not happening before) and my car was hesitating when taking my foot off of the brakes. I brought my car back two times to ask them to take a look at it and they called me "sweetheart" and told me nothing was wrong with the car and acted like I was making something up or didn't know what I was talking about. I brought the car to my dealer who said that whoever changed my brakes left a piece of metal in them and I needed new ones again (2nd time within a few months). They also said the air filter cap was left off which is why my car was hesitating (don't know what that has to do with changing brakes). Any problems I had with my car seemed to be inflicted by them. read more

This is the worst place ever. Sold me a Ducane grill, as I wanted a great working grill and did not care about the stainless look. They sold me some old leftover grill, made in China. This grill does not get hot enough to cook anything, not even salmon Mr. Harquail came to my home 3 times, and tells me that Ii am crazy, there is nothing wrong with it. He made a few additional holes somewhere and told me it is fine. NOT TRUE. Do not use this place, EVER!!!! He told me I have a problem because I don't use the heavy cover I purchased from him, after each use, every day. read more

Went to Harquail to have new wheels and tiers mounted and balanced. The price they quoted was good, and they balanced the wheels perfectly. Why 1-Star? well, I had to take the wheels off my car to check and clean the brake pads, and after my 200-lb frame jumped up and down on an 18" breaker bar-- the lugs remained in place. I returned to Harquail to have all of the lugs loosed to spec... greeted with attitude they said they used torx-sticks-- just found out they did not... my mechanic even had trouble removing some of the lugs when he was replacing the brakes. Thankfully I did not have a flat, as I would have never been able to remove 3 of the wheels... attention to detail is paramount in car care, something these guys apparently do not have-- I will not go back, next time their lack of attention could cause a bigger problem. read more

I was given a Weber grill that I decided to rebuild. Upon doing some research, I found out that the burners for that model were unique. I called Harquails in Summit and they said they had a set in stock. Took old ones with me, and they did indeed have them with crossover bar. Very friendly, excellent service, and their price was as good as internet. Highly recommend them. read more

Harquail Bros. came to repair my Weber grill yesterday and I am more than impressed by their service. I needed to have some parts replaced on my 15-year-old Summit Silver, and ordered them online -- thinking I would do the work myself. I decided not to mess with gas lines, so I called Harquail. Mr. Harquail and his sideman were professional, knowledgeable and friendly. During the installation, he found that the wires included in the ignitor kit I purchased had the wrong connectors, and thankfully he had the right ones on his truck -- which saved me a lot of time and frustration. After they made the repairs and cleaned the grill, I was back in action and making grilled pork chops for dinner last night. I highly recommend their service, and I've told my neighbors to give them a call should the need arise. read more

Have been to Harquail three times and find them very helpful and accommodating. Work has been done in a timely manner, and is reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and transparent about what they think needs to be done and why. The owner is very nice as well. Once I had an urgent need and they took me right away despite it being just one hour before closing. read more
