I took my dogs here for years and when my dog was needing anxiety and Pain medication desperately…read moretoward the end of his life I took him in they did no exam spent 2 minutes charged for a visit with a test, there was no test and gave me an unsigned prescription. She also changed her mind about giving him pain meds without telling me or explaining why she had only written for anxiety. It was Friday and they wouldn't do anything until Monday. She wasn't working monday. I took the prescription back Tuesday ,got it signed but was then told they have a compunding pharmacy they use and it would be the fastest way. I gave back the prescription and happily agreed to use that pharmacy. The doctor did not send in the prescription. I called every day several times a day to be sure it's being done. Another Friday came and he still had no medication. This is 2 weeks already so the following Monday I took him to another vet . They sent his prescriptions in that day but couldn't prescribe the same one the other vet was responsible for providing at that point. Tuesday ,Wednesday, finally Thursday the prescription is received at the compounding pharmacy. I believe the only reason it happened is because the pharmacist was getting upset and wanted her to call him. I paid for the medication and prayed that they would rush the order. I paid an extra 30 for overnight delivery but that's not including the time at the pharmacy. By Saturday my precious boy was in such bad shape and still had not received any medication . I had taken him in for pain shots during these weeks many times the injections were very painful and caused him a lot of anxiety and confusion. It may have helped a little but ketamine lasts 30 minutes and it costs about 100$ per shot. It's not reasonable to put the dog or owner in that position. By Saturday night I had no choice but to take him back to the hospital and allow him to leave his body and pain behind. He died without his prescription ever being filled. Without the vet ever returning my calls. I spent the last 3 weeks of his life trying to get him relief when it should have been having that time to spend with him in a comfortable state . The pain and suffering that was caused to both me and my dog is inexcusable. And the front office staff couldn't have been any ruder or treated me any worse than they did. Only one girl in that office was kind and helpful thru this time. The others would keep me on hold for long periods then have so much attitude when they took my call. I was lied to every time I called and told it had been sent to the pharmacy. Once I was told the vet needed time to figure out the prescription. I told the girl you can't be telling me she can't figure out the prescription she wrote that is so simple I could figure it out. 1mg per ml. What's to figure out??? They also recorded my calls , I'm not sure what prompted this but I didn't care I only cared about my dog and trying to get him relief. They let him down they let us down, when we needed them the most they turned their backs on us and that is unforgivable. I am left with the guilt that I couldn't get him what he needed during his last 3 weeks and that is no easy burden to carry. I wouldn't recommend you take anyone you care about here because they do not care about your baby nor do they care about you. She didn't return even one call. she was waiting him out allowing him to suffer.

My husband and I were in OK over Christmas to visit family. We have a 16 yr old GS/Keeshond mix…read morewho had cancer wrapped around his heart and lungs, but was still feeling well when we first arrived. His cancer progressed rapidly and on a late Friday night, he starting rasping for air and his lungs filled with fluid. We called Pet Loss at Home and talked to Dr Tamara Smith. She came out on a Saturday even though Cody was not one of her patients and very lovingly, gently and compassionately put him out of his misery. My husband and I cannot express our gratitude enough about her sensitivity to our losing our baby. She also has a clinic on Classen called Pet Friends Veterinary Hospital, and does a lot of work with rescues. I have been doing rescues for about 20 yrs and Dr Smith is a marvel!! Thank you so much for your understanding.

If I could leave the stars at a zero, I would. I called Pet Loss at Home at 4:27pm on Monday,…read more5/6/19, because we had a terrible health situation going on with our beloved dog, Luke. It was a hard decision to have to make for him, to be euthanized, but we felt we owed it to him to give him some peace. The website said they were open until 8pm and could provide service within 1-3 hours notice. I left a voice message with the vet I was connected with, Dr. Tamara Smith, I believe. I called back again and had a text message sent to the vet assigned for our area. I even sent an email through their website. We didn't expect that all would be dropped to accommodate us, but we did expect that someone would make contact with us, if not that evening, the next day. Here it is, Wednesday, 5/8, and we still haven't heard from anyone. Not by a phone call. Not by an email. And not by text. It's almost as if Luke knew that this company wasn't going to help us, as he chose to pass on his own, to our surprise and relief. I am extremely disappointed with this company which is supposed to be so helpful in your time of need, and is anything but. Not sure who wrote those testimonials on their website, but I guess they were luckier or more worthy than we.
