If you have an elderly or special needs pet this probably isnt the place that is going to need same…read moreday or same week care without always having weeks advance notice this is not the place. At leats otbwasnt for us. We had our elderly dog there once recently after we moved to the area. We brought all his medical records from our original vet. I was a little put off by the fact that no one answers the phone, the automatic message says to schedule online or use the app or if you need assistance leave a message. When the office staff called back I basically got scolded for thinking I'd be able to get in within 2 weeks. I went ahead and took the appointment I could get and when we went the front counter woman seemed harried and was a bit short but the vet was very nice and they were busy so I cut front desk some slack. Well within a short period of time our dog's health turned quickly. We weren't sure what to do. We scheduled an appointment to discuss end of life plan with the vet, make sure we weren't overreacting to how he was acting. Then he got very bad. Called vet left message asking if they could get him in or if not which Emergency they recommend. The receptionist that called back acted like it was her job to keep the vet from ever having to speak with a client or advise on end of life care. I was used to our old vet that the staff would take a meassage the vet wpuld callbus back that day. I don't think that the vet even knew our dog had taken a turn and was headed downhill I think think the phone bouncer kept that to herself. We headed straight to the ER and by the time we got there he was in a lot of pain. I feel like if someone had just been willing to help us through this really difficult decision before things got bad he wouldn't have been in so much pain right before we said goodbye. The people at the ER were fantastic and I don't know if we would have gotten through the end without the kindness and tenderness of that staff. Sorry if this is disjointed still hard to talk about and I waited a while to write this.

I would give 0 stars if i could. The front desk lady is also horribly rude and inconsiderate.

I got in my car and traveled around Shawnee looking for a pet store that might sell dog boots (I had plenty of warm clothes for them, but no boots!). The store I found on Yelp had recently closed down. Disheartened I continued driving up Harrison and went past Best Friends Animal Clinic. Eureka! They will know where I can get dog boots! I went in and from the moment I walked in the door I felt taken care of. I could tell this was a really great clinic by the kinds of food, treats and products they had on display in the waiting room, and the front desk receptionist was just lovely. While we talked, people came and went with their cats and dogs - everybody was happy with how they were treated. While the receptionist was on the phone, the vet came out and asked if we were all taken care of. THE VET came and checked on people in the waiting room. Awesome. As we chatted, the receptionist told him why I was there and he hand wrote me a map of the pet supply places in Shawnee. Seriously, how sweet was that?! I think you'll like this place. Friendly, well kept and really nice staff and vet. Definitely was a place I would take my dogs if I lived there!

I am incredibly disappointed with the lack of customer service and basic compassion at this clinic…read more I had an appointment scheduled for 4:30 PM for my dog who needed urgent care. Because I live 30 minutes away and had to rush home to get my dog during peak rush hour traffic, I proactively called ahead to let them know I was running late. Instead of showing any understanding for a working person trying to get medical attention for their pet, they were completely rigid. They strictly enforced a "grace window" policy, entirely dismissing the fact that they still had a full hour left before closing at 6:00 PM. To make matters worse, when we called to ask about payment options, the staff treated my wife with an absolute lack of respect. Their only solutions were entirely unrealistic for the average working person. They flippantly told me to just "reschedule" (which isn't easy when you work until 5:30 PM every day) or suggested I drop my dog off at 7:30 AM and leave her there until 6:00 PM. Why would I trust an establishment to watch my dog all day when they've already made it clear they don't care enough to do what they can to see her? This place operates like a rigid corporate machine, not a veterinary clinic that cares about animals or the people who love them. If you work a regular job or expect to be treated with basic respect and empathy during a stressful time with your pet, look elsewhere. They clearly do not care.
