My partner and I have come across Shannon at self checkout 3 times now. Sweet woman but she always knows how to make our experience a bit uncomfortable. The first 2 times she took over our checkout process even after we told her we'd like to do it ourselves. All she tells us is to let her do her job. If that gives you purpose, sure. This last time she told me to stand six feet away from my partner while he was checking out to practice social distancing ‍ My partner told her we live together and she still demanded that I stand away from him. I completely understand if we were complete strangers but it didn't take a genius to see we were together. I like this Harris Teeter but I'll skip the self checkout line next time. Suggestion - Maybe you guys should put her at an actual register?? It seems she loves to channel her inner cashier. read more

Schedule more people for registers on Sunday. It's ridiculous that people have to either wait 30 min in the self checkout line that stretches all the way down the alcohol section, or try and navigate people walking through aisles while waiting for the 1 or 2 registers that are open. read more

So this place is something else! Immediately upon entering the parking lot I knew I was on the most fortunate side of town... and we all know that Harris Teeter only gets built on these sides of town! Anyway, this has to be one of or if not the most lavish Harris Teeter's in Charlotte! I love the fact that they have a huge variety of foods and tons of bars! Their breakfast bar is awesome! They have so much variety, like turkey and pork bacon, breakfast casserole, yellow and white grits and so much more. I don't care for the dry cake that I purchased, and will be returning that though, but I digress... for the "crack coffee" junkies they also have a Starphucks. The store is so huge it would take me at least 2 hrs to really tour the store and see all that they have to offer, but our would definitely be fun doing so! Check them out. My update is that the last few times I've gone for subs at this HT, a great associate named Mersida has helped me and has done an outstanding job. She always has a smile on her face, she makes great sandwiches, and she keeps the line moving. This is an improvement and I hope others in the deli follow her lead. read more

Living nearby I have watched this Harris Teeter location be built over the last year and was anxious for opening day. I held off a few days to allow the crowds, checking out the new place, to die down and ventured over on a Sunday afternoon. The parking lot has plenty of spaces with several drop off cart locations, for customers convenience. After approaching the store I was happy to see a large amount of carts available and employees everywhere to assist with any questions, etc. The store is beautiful, very clean and offers a lot of things the closet Harris Teeter does, including a chef's station, where they were cooking omelets to order that day, in addition they have a wine bar with tables for customers to enjoy a glass of wine and/or meal from the other food stations available, salad bar, hot bar, Chinese and pizza. Love it! The layout is great, but definitely is going to take some time to get used to, but from layout to the customer service and ease of the location I am a definite fan. This will most likely be my go to Harris Teeter going forward. read more

I'm a Publix lover, but I had to check out the new Teet (can I call it that?!) on South Blvd when it finally opened - and I must say, I was impressed! I still think their aisles are cluttered and I hate their checkout structure, but their produce/made to order/wine & beer/cheese section sold me! The produce was fresh and they had a lot of organic options to pick from. Their cheese bar was also amazing. Plenty of samples and a great selection! They definitely blow Publix away in this category. However, their hot/cold self serve bars (buffet style) is where it's at! They had some great hot on-to go meals and an awesome salad bar. I noticed too that they have 'weekly' specials so this is a great place for dinner or lunch on-the go! Lastly, they have beer/wine bar inside, which was fully packed the day I went. What a great concept- drink then shop.. I like what their marketing team did there. I've heard they sell local breweries' beers and always have a rotating brewery come in each week. I wouldn't mind returning and having a glass next time... Overall, I won't change from the Pub to the Teet, however I would return when searching for a nice cheese or a easy and quick dinner on the go! read more

This is my local HT on South Blvd. I really like this location. The produce is always very fresh. They consistently have the rotisserie chicken breast- which I know sounds weird, but not all the other stores have it and it's such a better deal for my family who only eats white meat. They have a great wine and beer selection. They have a mochi freezer- which is similar to the one at Whole Foods. I've never actually seen anyone taking anything from it, but it's a nice to have. This location has a very large bar - I've never not seen someone sitting there. It's actually pretty full on the weekends too. The people who work here are very sweet and helpful. read more

Brand new store is very nice. Unfortunately they don't take Apple Pay so I will continue to drive a little further to Food Lion in Dilworth since the do take Apple Pay. Though I'm not usually a fan of Food Lions, the Dilworth store is very nice, a much better shopping experience than the East Blvd Harris Teeter. I would love to make this new Harris Teeter my new grocery store since it's close walking distance, but not until they take Apple Pay. read more

Do not shop here if you're uncomfortable with being stereotyped/profiled & therefore followed by the "new" tiny security guard woman at night who apparently just started this week & is already doing quite a sh*tty job! GET THIS, I literally live in one of the most expensive apartment buildings on south boulevard and was followed BLATANTLY around the ENTIRE store shopping tonight with my sister who didn't want to go in there alone! Just because I have colorful hair and tattoos apparently made a probable cause for this woman to suspect I was doing something wrong. LOL PLEASE check your cameras and you can see we were shopping just like regular humans would! Even though my purse was the size of my hand not even big enough to steal anything, if my 100% clean record self wanted to!! LOL such a joke when I literally shop here ALL THE TIME and have ALWAYS had the most lovely experiences- mostly because of the beautiful soul woman with the cane at self checkout whose always enthusiastic and full of positive energy and compliments. But tonight, I have no idea what was shoved up these 3 woman's a$$es - they are literally what is wrong with the world right now!! The two "managers" who apparently told her to follow me and also defended her saying she was doing her job acted as if they didn't know a thing when they clearly did and asked me if I even knew what time they closed. I did but WHY does that matter & WHY was she singling ME and my sister out from everyone else in the store?! It was still probably 10mins until their doors shut and people were still walking in as I left! It was the most bizarre, awkward & degrading feeling and when I asked the officer to her face what her deal was, she responded saying that if I wasn't doing something wrong I shouldn't be worried! UM, 1. you're making me feel uncomfortable as a woman whose now unable to shop in peace due to you staring at me literally every isle I walk down, of course I'm going to have a problem and be concerned?! 2. If we WERE even doing anything wrong, you'd know since your eyes never left us! LOL Very disappointed in this experience and will literally never shop here now because of it. This Harris teeter must have their d team working the mornings. I walked up to the deli counter and stood there for over five minutes while 4+ individuals bickered with each other. I know it's early, but when customers are in the store please hold it together. Starbucks in the HT however had glistening customer service and really turned my trip around. I don't normally post reviews, but I just had a GREAT experience at store #305 on South Blvd. Ms. Marlene said hello to me at the salad bar and genuinely asked me about my day. The store was busy with lots of people, and she was keeping the salad bar replenished. When I mentioned that I didn't see an item on the sale bar that has been there before (cottage cheese), she said that they were out...but that she would go get some off the shelf for me. She came back quickly and let me scoop what I needed. I was very impressed with her awesome customer-focus, especially since you don't see that level of care much any more. Is it weird to love a grocery store? I hope not, because this Harris Teeter is great! This was a great addition to the Southend community. What more could you want. My favorite things include: 1. The bar, which includes drink specials every night of the week and bartenders who are personable, knowledgeable, and friendly! Also, live music options 2. All the meal options - from the hot bar, to the salad bar, to pizza and sushi and the subs (which also have nightly specials), they are sure to satisfy your needs. Highly recommend going there for dinner and drink specials! 3. Freshly prepared dinners every night, which includes a lobster dinner for ~$10 on Fridays. Also the Omelet bar on the weeks is pretty great - comes with an omelet made to order and your choice of a bagel for like 4 bucks! Can't beat that. 4. A Starbucks to satisfy your coffee needs. 5. Good customer service story for the day: I followed the deli directions on a dish that called for a lid to be taken off to microwave, which I did and then the rest of the tray proceeded to melt along with the the contents causing a big mess. I went back with my receipt, explained the situation hoping they would come my replacement and not only did I get the replacement dish for free, they also gave me my money back for the original dip that was ruined, did not expect that! My favorite grocery store. More than a supermarket it is a destination. Breakfast bar, Asian bar, salad bar, trail mix bar. The staff at the fresh seafood counter are above and beyond. Many times they have seen me looking in the case before they open and every time they have happily served me. The entire store selections are better than any store in the city. When you order a sub pick up online at 9:15 am and it says it's ready for 10:15 am pick up it should be ready.... It wasn't even made when I arrived at 10:15 and the employee was making some other guys subs. Very disappointed so cancelled my order! I love harris teeter. The store is so considerate. The Vic cards give you great deals, and you get all kinds of perks from joining. You get free subs sometimes. You get gas off, and free samples. I don't know if there is a single person in Charlotte more excited than I was for Harris Teeter to open. I literally went for opening day and was not disappointed. While I always find HT store layouts to be a little weird, I really love this store. It takes a few times to get used to but I always find the foods I want and love. While convenient to go grab lunch from work, I will not return due to the poor conditions of the salad bar. Dressings are always empty and strewn across the counter. Lettuces are usually low. Today there were two eggs left and they were covered in shellfish. I just pulled bacon bits out of my salad and I don't eat meat! Major disappointment for a new grocery store. Parking and getting in out and out of the store can be tight. Funny how in the much smaller HT Uptown they always have what I need but this one the few times I've gone in has been missing an item I need. Self express checkout as in most HT's gets overcrowded. Do you think when building a new store they would have installed more than the customary 4 checkout points? No that would have made too much sense. End result is an overcrowded self checkout with multiple unused lanes that could have been used. Overall it lacks any major innovations that you would hope of a new store opening in 2017. No point checking this place out if you haven't already. While the Publix up the road has some issues too you're better off going there. Your wallet will thank you in the end. read more

The worst customer service! Went in to buy 1 item for lunch. Waited in the self checkout for 10 minutes at lunchtime! Only 2 folks in front of me and only 2 self check outs open AND only 2 regular checkouts. When I said something to an employee to see if she could open another check out (4 folks were behind me)I was told I could go to the bar area and check out. Nice location, but buffet salad bar is disaster, no labels or tags for dish name, chicken was raw, there was a shrimp in creamy pasta salad (as there was no tags or labels) and imagine how that can handle by vegetarian person like me, i spend $15 to get that salad while going to work and still end up having other food from work place. Finally. A grocery store in South End that gets me! The staff is centered on good customer service and it's one of those places that you feel good about going to. Kind of like walking into a Trader Joe's or Whole Foods, but without the $$$$ that goes with it. Now you might ask yourself, does a grocery store need a bar centralized inside the location? Well this is 2018, where black and white have subsequently been replaced by gray, and lines are not so rigid and defined. Meaning... it's perfectly ok to have a beer while you shop or to flat out get your buzz on while your significant other finishes getting all the items they worked so hard to write down on a shopping list. They even have live music, and the performers are better than you would think! Maybe this whole "adulting" thing is getting the best of me, or I truly love what the Teet is doing, because I find myself saying something I never imagined. I would even recommend going to this location without having an intention of shopping.
