I particularly enjoyed the Cary and Cameron Village locations (however this is not based upon recent experience). Follow online for great coupon and discount opportunities. I really like this Harris Teeter location. I can find everything I need easily and the staff are friendly and attentive. I went to the customer service counter for help and Josh came up to the counter and asked if I had been helped. I had not so he began to help me with a transaction and then answered the phone. He was staring into space and silent on the phone and eventually I said "Who was here 1st, me or the caller." He then put the caller on hold and said to me "The phone takes 1st precedence here." I said "Over a customer?" I said "This is highly unprofessional." So if Harris Teeter does indeed have a policy that after the fact phone callers take precedence, then maybe they can hire someone who doesn't stare into blank space but is capable of ringing up a two item transaction that needed customer service involved. Knock, Knock, nobody is home. Maybe multitasking could be a thing for someone who works at customer service. It was not rocket science. This is my final straw with this store. There have been other issues with staff with challenged IQs. I left there and went to Whole Foods where I was treated with dignity and class. Harris Teeter used to have a standard and now are in the sphere of Food Lion. Not returning to this substandard level of customer service. EVER! read more

I have to admit it - I'm a huge Harris Teeter fan. We have them in Charlotte and while it's not my usual shop because they tend to be a little more expensive than others, they are definitely the "go to" for quality and a very good shopping experience. This Teeter in Raleigh was the same. Clean, bright and well-stocked store. Organized shopping carts in the store with very few in the cart corrals. No litter in the parking lot. Easy to find the few snacks and bits I needed for my dinner in the hotel room this evening. Great selection in produce and deli. Frozen was completely stocked and the motion-detecting lights were working well. Great selection int he beer and wine area too. After a recent short visit, here's a quick summary of the pros and cons: Pros: a) Free parking. b) Very close to Rex Hospital. c) Welcoming exterior decorations. (This is what prompted me to take photos, and I began to think Yelp). d) Friendly pharmacy. e) Excellent assortment of pumpkins, Halloween items and creative gifts. f) Good selection of specialty deli items. g) Flu shots available. h) Solid yogurt and milk alternative selections. i) Spacious, and genuinely well organized. Cons: a) Pricing on many non-sale items, seemed a bit high. b) Bathroom not well stocked. c) One of the managers seemed to be in a less than friendly mood. I personally think Harris Teeter is a little on the expensive side. I'll stop here if I REALLY need something and I don't feel like running to Food Lion or Aldi. For instance, I bought a 3-pack of Romaine hearts here for $4.49 and then went to Aldi and got the EXACT same brand/size for $1.99. I also am not a huge fan of their check out procedure... well... when I have my kids with me. It's strange that I leave the cart (with the kids in it) near the cashier... as opposed to putting the groceries up on a conveyer belt. So what happens is I usually end up going to the self check out lanes when I have the kids with me... which is usually a shit show because some issue always comes up with something not scanning correctly, the computer telling me to remove the last item, etc etc. which then forces the one and only self check-out worker to come to my rescue and usually finish all my scanning for me. Some pros for HT tho: -They are one of the only stores which carries my absolute favorite Ben and Jerry's ice cream flavor: CINNAMON BUN!!! -Their donuts are AMAZING- gigantic, heavenly calorie loaded deliciousness. You can get 2 for $2 OR get 6 for like $3.49. -Oodles of samples in the produce and deli section.... HELLO SNACK TIME! -wide variety of products -doubles coupons up to 99 cents with some occasions of triple coupons. read more

The staff at HT is wonderful! Enjoy the recent renovation at the produce department. Easier to find what I need quickly. Checkout is always a breeze. The pharmacy techs are pleasant and efficient. I have shopped at this location many times. It overall has a good variety of anything you would need from a grocery store and pharmacy. The produce section is usually well stocked and is good quality. Another notable quality is the large selection of cheese. There is also a respectable beer and wine section. Prices are a bit more expensive than other grocery stores. But there are many good deals if you are a VIC card holder (it's free). This location also offers curbside service where your groceries are delivered to your car after you order them online. I have not used this service yet but have heard good things. read more

I was standing at the far end of the store, was in a hurry and asked where the yogurt was...the employee pointed and said 'in that direction' which was literally the entire store minus the isle I was in... Came tonight to grab some things real quick. Circled the parking lot for about 15-20 minutes to find a parking spot. While circling I saw people parking their cars and getting out in full NC State gear and hoping in other cars to head to the game tonight. While I love NC State the Harris Teeter parking lot should not be used by people as a satellite parking lot. GO PACK but don't park in the Harris Teeter parking lot. read more

Overall, this place is way over priced. For instance, I bought a bunch of romaine lettuce hearts at Harris Teeter for $4. At another store chain (department store super center), it was $2. They both looked just as fresh. This was just one item. Looking over the prices I paid with what I could have paid, I would have saved about $50+. Which was about a third of my bill. The store has been very clean every time I've been here. The staff, well the staff can be very friendly and helpful or just horrible. It has run the gambit. I'd say about 50/50 as to which it will be. They do double coupons up to a face value of $0.99 (doubled to $1.98). So I'll go here if an item is on sale and I have a coupon. I'm also told that they have extra double days where they'll double a face value up to $1.98. I haven't seen one yet, but it sounds like it's quarterly. Seriously though... Name brand items will be 2-3 times as much then at your big department store super centers. Don't waste your money here. read more

Harris Teeter is a large chain, and I'm not sure I can say anything about this specific location that wouldn't also apply to most of its other stores. HT falls somewhere between a "budget" grocery store like Food Lion Piggly Wiggly, and a boutique grocer like Whole Foods or Earthfare. Harris Teeter generally has good prices on organic fruit, and I do appreciate their general tendency towards self-checkout. read more

All Harris Teeters are generally the same in terms of products and price, but I really love this location because the staff a very friendly and helpful. I prefer it to the Chapel Hill location I would frequent as well. Everytime I come here one of the staff greets me with a smile or strikes up conversation in whichever department I'm greeting. A lot of other reviewers complained about it being expensive, which is true at face value. But their VIC specials are usually pretty good and most of the time I can find good deals on a lot of items I use often. read more

This is a Harris Teeter like many other Harris Teeters. It's slightly more upscale than a Food Lion; it's cheaper than a Whole Foods. I shop here and at Food Lion and the experience I had tonight wasn't enough to change my shopping habits but it was bad enough to give an employee at HT a negative review. I will also take it up with the manager next time I'm there. An employee who works the service desk went out of her way to go to open a main register to ring up a younger man with a six pack of beer. Meanwhile only two other registers were open with large orders. I asked her if she could ring up mine and she said no and then watched me wait in line for a few minutes for the customers in front of me. I had time to go up to her and ask her name and still stand in line and wait. There was a lot of chatting going on and the service desk and no one was helping bag groceries for the new cashier. After my order was rung up by a very sweet new (still learning) cashier I saw the employee had left. I'd say the rude employee gets a -1 in review. read more

Harris Teeter is my grocery store of choice. I love the environment. The store at this particular location is always clean and will organized and it's the closest one to my house. The staff are always friendly and super helpful. I love the fact that you can double coupons, up to 99 cents, everyday here. This is my "neighborhood" Teeter. I go here for almost everything. There isn't much to complain about they have everything you need for a grocery store... the regular basic needs are Always met. But... for a Harris Teeter I expect a little more. It has a Food Lion feel if you know what I mean. You can't have a Food Lion feel with Teeter prices. Some major upgrades need to happen aesthetically and also food wise. As more and more Teeters are going up or getting remodeled I think we should put some focus on giving our pricey little neighborhood teeter a face lift. read more

I've never thought about reviewing a grocery store before, but the service I have received lately at the Edwards Mill Harris Teeter prompted me to review. I'm immune compromised so I go in early. I've gotten to know that the nice gentleman in produce really knows produce so I've asked his advice the last couple of times I've been there. He is so patient with me and always leads me in the right direction. Last time it was concerning which rosemary sprigs were the freshest. This morning it was which tomatoes to select for roasting vs. putting in a salad! And then the nice gentleman in the meat department helped alert me to the baby back rib sale going on and the extra allotment of ribs in the middle aisle. And I can't say enough good things about Brenda. I think she knows when folks aren't keen on self-check-out and she always helps me. She is patient and kind and I know she means it when she asks if everything went well. Not to mention that she is fast and accurate! She follows up if you have a question and genuinely cares. My overall impression is that if you are looking for a convenient place close to your home, this works. However, they do charge convenience store prices on most name brand items. A gallon of Edy's Ice-cream for like $6-outrageous! Of course the Harris Teeter brands are much more reasonable but sometime the generic just doesn't do the job. If you watch some sale adds you can get some good deals and if you have a HT shopping card the edeals are pretty nice too. Overall, I shop here because it is close to my home and convenient however when I am doing some serious grocery shopping I avoid this place... read more

I love stopping by this location for a quick healthy lunch. I really enjoy the salad bar! bit more pricier than I would like but always fresh and well stocked. They now have fresh oven baked pizza, Monday's deal is a whole pie for 7.99...a very good deal! This Harris Teeter is truly just a food lion with the HT label and prices on everything. The layout is a disaster and makes it difficult to find what you're looking for. Forget about asking for help bc they will pony you in a general direction and send you on your way. There are plenty more great options in the area. I will not return this this store. read more

After 7 years in eastern Carolina, where Food Lion was the only game in town, this Harris Teeter store, just around the corner, has been a wonderful experience. The staff throughout the store has been courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. The store is well-stocked and the specials (especially the EVic deals) are excellent. As always, know the values and shop accordingly, but that goes for any store. The fresh foods are many cuts above any other grocery store around, and if you shop the weekly specials, you will do just fine. The Harris Teeter store brand items I have found to be very good. Their spice selection is lame, as is their "ethnic food" selection, and their bulk/self served dry goods (like the huge selection they have at Ingles and Whole Foods) is non existent. My real gripe with this store is their online ordering. Their website sucks hard. Ordering groceries online is extremely time consuming, though that's not this particular locations fault, just an observation. But I placed an order at 1 pm today, as both my kids were home sick, and the earliest pick up time was between 530-6pm. Fine. Then I get a call at 5 telling me they're backed up and just starting my order, so it will be a bit delayed. I call an hour and a half later asking what the eta for my order is, and the clerk tells me she can't say, because she's JUST STARTING THE ORDER. I ended up canceling and just going to the store so my kids would have dinner before 10pm. Terrible communication. I wonder if HT corporate realizes they're going to get crushed by Prime Now, which charges the same for 2 hour home delivery as HT does for 5 hr pickup? I'm definitely using them, instead of HT, for online grocery orders from now on. read more
