Otherwise, they have much of the same stuff as other local grocery stores, at higher prices, and without a generic or alternate brand option. If you are bargain shopper, stay away. Came here on the Grand Opening --The first day! Oh my goodness there were so many people! I guess that would be expected though. This grocery store is ...like...if Costco and a Bi-Lo had a baby and named it Harris Teeter. It has tons and tons of yummy looking produce and easily to find cans goods. On Wednesday, there were many buy one get one deals --Hopefully that will become a mainstay. For me, I saw a lot of items that were higher priced than I'm used to paying. This is a very clean, very large grocery store. They allotted a large area for more fresh produce than Whole Foods in addition to their large deli/seafood/meat area. I usually go for their fresh salad bar when I am in the area since I live nowhere near this area. The prices seem to be on par with publix and sometimes even better. I have never had a negative interaction with their staff and the store manager seems to be on top of his store since he noticed me waiting for a distracted cashier and came over immediately to fix it. read more

We do not have a Harris Teeter close to Hanahan so we sometimes shop at the one on Dorchester when we are over that way. It's always amazing at what you find at Harris Teeter, it's part Publix and Part Whole Foods store. We found a lot of organic items that are hard to find elsewhere as well as more gluten free items as well. I was there on 8 Oct getting groceries and the pizza station was killing me. My wife and I were already hungry and this just put us over the top. If you live in the Dorchester area, it's location is pretty convenient as well as the other stores in the shopping center. read more

I really enjoy coming to the store! When I visit my girlfriend here in Charleston I look for a grocery store that is close and has a large organic selection. This story is my choice after searching everything in the local area. They have a specific parking spot for veterans that I use every time I come here. I think it's extremely thoughtful but out of everyone they decided to recognize a veteran. The selection inside the store is awesome! They have everything from fresh cut roses to fresh cut Salmon. The cheese bar has everything you could imagine and more. After noticing the diverse collection of cheeses, it inspired me to make some manicotti tonight. The meat selection is always on point and inviting. I decided to get the sweet Italian sausage for the sauce I was making. The hardest part about coming to this store is making sure I've Meal planned, because their are so many healthy and wonderfully tasty options. Teeter Totter sounds good about now. Harris Teeter is the South Carolina version of a Krogers grocery store. Unlike a few of the Krogers that I have been to on the west coast, Harris Teeter seemed very clean and new looking. read more

I am always stopping in here a few times a week! Their pre-made rice bowls are amazing as well as all of their deli foods! Plus, this is the ONLY place around where I can find and boy Clearly Canadian flavored water! Their sales prices are hard to beat and their staff are always extra friendly! Check out lines are never long and their are several self check out registers which helps get in and out! The salad bar and Chinese food bar are always a weekly stop for us! Very clean and well laid out grocery store. We live on the other side of Summerville but come here often for our meat and seafood. There is a wide variety and great prices. I wish there were more checkouts open when we are there. There always seem to only a couple open at a time, so I try to go either very early in the morning or later at night. I love how close this store is to my house. They always have a great selection of produce and the people are always pleasant. So here is the reason for the 3 stars - tonight I go into to buy subs ( its a Friday and on Friday they have a $4.99 foot long deal) and they are out of bread. This is the second time this has happened in the last 2 months. So here is a clue harris teeter, stock more bread on the days when you run a special or even better yet when you do run out of bread take a trip to the bread aisle and stock up. read more

Harris Teeter is a wonderful store. It has a great selection and if you can not find an item at your normal store you will find it at Harris Teeter. Harris Teeter is pricey though. I really love the Dorchester Rd. location. The store is very clean and the quality of the produce and meat is by far the best I have seen in the North Charleston/Summerville area. My problem is with the customer service at the self check out area. The representatives that I have come in contact with are very rude and need some training when it comes to customer service and engaging and/or interacting with the customer. They seem to be very annoyed when the attention is required due to any error/issue with checking out. I have had this experience on 2 separate occasions; the first time I just let it slide, but today's experience was by far the last straw. I am contemplating rather I want to shop here again or go somewhere else. While the store itself is lovely, and the customer service throughout the store is rather friendly, but the self checkout area needs a little attention. My fiancé and I decided against slaving away at the stove this evening and bought a Harris Teeter Applewood Smoked Pork Loin to accompany our fresh sides of baby gold potatoes, beets and asparagus. I thought the Pork Loin was going to be hit or miss (more miss than hit) but boy!!! Was I wrong! Best pork loin ever, so juicy. She was very disrespectful and rude. My mom asked her why she did that and she states I told you to move twice and the lady says it's your story tell it how you want!!!
