Good homemade burgers that tasted so good. Friendly staff and quick time getting our food. Nice area to sit outside with our dogs. Good fries too.

The scoops are for real, not stingy. Trials are reasonable. Tastes good and priced well.

Read the bad reviews but still decided to try it out because just wanted a quick cheap meal. I liked the burger, better than chain fast food like McDs and BK. The fries were sub par but edible. Kids got chicken fingers, which were overdone and onion rings which were pretty good. Overall ok for what it is. If you go in expect in a small town greedy spoon meal you won't be disappointed, but don't expect artisen gormet burgers.

Normally I don't leave bad reviews. Don't bother. Just keep walking to A&W. I Ordered the Swiss mushroom melt. Combo for $13.99. Got my burger. Very gross. They used thin Frozen meat patty and canned mushrooms with cheese slices. Charge 50cents for refills. $70 bill for a fast food style burger joint. and they for a tip lol. Prices of Red Robins but without the quality. Keep walking.

I should have read the reviews on Yelp before we decided to eat here. Google gave 3.6 stars but I think they must get friends or family as it was not worth it. We ordered a double burger, smokie, poutine and drink for $28. The food took about 10-15 minutes to cook so we had great expectations but they quickly vanished. Looking at the poutine, there weren't any cheese curds, it appeared shredded but it tasted ok, nothing special. The burger was over cooked and the bun got mushy half way through. We expected the smokie to be juicy and tasty but it was tough, overcooked and disgusting. The only way that the smokie could be that overcooked is that it had to been microwaved for too long then thrown on the grill afterwards. I know that overcooked microwave dog taste/look/toughness. We would've waited for fresh cooked good food and paid extras too. You definitely get what you pay for at this cheap burger joint. Hard pass - go somewhere better!

I'll start by saying the french fries were really good. However, the hamburger meat tasted very strange. Perhaps it wasn't real meat.

So other reviewers have stated…read morethat this place is great and you get a huge amount of food for having the reputation of a tourist trap. I will agree and disagree with some of these reviews from a perspective of a tourist but also someone who eats out a lot. The good: food was good, staff was friendly, ambience was enjoyable sitting outside near the lake in the shade. Family enjoyed the food, especially the fish although our pieces were crumbling and falling apart just touching them to move to other plates. Fries were good, tenders were good. Tartar sauce had a slight honey mustard taste which was a nice change. The bad: prices have gone up since last persons post 9 months ago. Items have increased $2-$3 dollars since then. Someone claiming the burgers were huge and could barely finish half of one, also confirmed by staff they were huge, was not so the case. It was a standard size burger I would compare to slightly shorter than a Big Mac at McDonald's. Other critique was the gravy on the poutine was slightly on the salty side as well. Dining bonus they give you 10% of at picnics ice cream and dessert place that is located next door. Overall it was a nice lunch but will cost you a considerate amount being in a tourist area. Our bill was $89 before tips for a family of 5 with a toddler sharing 3 entrees and drinking water.

Despite it being quite busy, the service was remarkably fast, efficient and friendly! The environment on a Saturday was definitely "pre-party" in that the music was loud (but just under being too loud), the crowd was happy and having fun. I saw at least one round of shooters going by to a table of older folks, lol! If you have an aversion to loud places, try the outdoor seats or maybe wear Loops or other such gear. It is a pub, but kids are allowed until 9pm. As for the food, we just ordered the calamari and the wings (salt & pepper as the hubby can't eat chilies). We were really surprised at how good they both were. The calamari had a thin, crispy coating that wasn't too greasy. The wings were properly and fully cooked without being overcooked. So many busy pubs serve half raw wings, so I was really pleased with the wings. Also, I thought the chicken was of good quality, not something I usually notice with this dish.

Ice-Cold Food, Ice-Colder Attitude…read more Lakeside Restaurant manages the rare feat of being cold in every conceivable sense of the word--and not in a charming, minimalist way. The dining room was so uncomfortably cold that it felt less like a restaurant and more like an unheated waiting room. Keeping your coat on is not a "vibe"; it is a failure of basic hospitality. Unfortunately, the temperature was the least offensive aspect of the experience. The service was frigid, detached, and borderline hostile. There was no warmth, no courtesy, and no pretense of welcoming guests. Staff moved through the space with the enthusiasm of people who would clearly rather be anywhere else, making customers feel like an inconvenience instead of patrons. A restaurant by the lake should lean into warmth, comfort, and atmosphere. Lakeside Restaurant instead delivers sterility, indifference, and a sense of being quietly judged for having the audacity to show up. It felt less like dining and more like being tolerated. Hospitality is about human connection. Lakeside Restaurant offers none. I left cold, uncomfortable, and genuinely confused as to how this place remains in operation. Save yourself the discomfort and go literally anywhere else.

Cold in Every Possible Sense…read more My experience at Lakeside Restaurant was profoundly unpleasant, not because of a single mistake, but because of an overwhelming atmosphere of coldness--both literal and human. The dining area was uncomfortably cold, to the point where it detracted from any ability to relax or enjoy a meal. Patrons should not have to keep their coats on indoors to endure a restaurant experience. This alone signals a lack of basic consideration for customer comfort. More troubling, however, was the emotional temperature of the establishment. The service was distant, indifferent, and unwelcoming. There was no warmth, no attentiveness, and no sense that customers were valued. Interactions felt transactional at best and dismissive at worst. Hospitality is not merely about food; it is about atmosphere, care, and respect--none of which were present here. A restaurant situated by a lake should evoke comfort, warmth, and hospitality. Instead, Lakeside Restaurant felt sterile, uninviting, and inhospitable. I left feeling unwelcome and eager to be anywhere else. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a comfortable, welcoming dining experience.

The evening began with the reservation. I called twice to confirm. On the first call, a young man took the booking, confirmed the patio request, and then asked for my credit card over the phone for the 30 dollar no show fee. I declined and asked that he email me so I could provide it securely. No email arrived. I called again and spoke with a woman who assured me everything was confirmed. Upon arrival, I was told a patio reservation was impossible because they "do not do that." Fair enough, except the patio had an open table for eight. When I asked if we could take it, I was told it was reserved for a walk in. In the three hours we were there, that table remained untouched. Either the walk in was exceptionally punctual in not arriving, or the explanation was simply convenient. Now to the food, which unfortunately did not redeem the plot. Every steak ordered at our table was overcooked, and service pacing was inconsistent. Dishes arrived in scattered intervals, with one meal landing after the rest of the table had already finished. Even on a busy night, timing is part of hospitality, not an optional add on. I can forgive a kitchen having an off moment. What was harder to overlook was the lack of professionalism on the floor. A server's skirt repeatedly rode up to the point that her buttocks were visibly exposed while bending and leaning, including directly outside the glass beside our table. My niece, seated by the window, turned toward a noise and was met with an image no family dining experience should include. My sister discreetly and politely notified our waitress, as one would hope someone would do for them. The issue continued multiple times afterward. There was no manager on duty. We were given the owner's number, and I left a voicemail. If I receive a response, I will gladly update this review. As it stands, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Between the reservation contradictions, overcooked steaks, erratic pacing, and a front of house standard that fell well below basic expectations, the experience missed the mark in ways that were both avoidable and unnecessary.
