Went here every morning for coffee on my vacation. LOVELY staff, great coffee and good food! Highly recommend if you are in Harrison to come and give this place a try.

    Dogs welcomed!!

This was our second choice. The first business spoke rudely to us when we inquired before entering if dogs were permitted on their outdoor patio. I googled dog friendly patios and saw Muddy Waters had rave reviews. It was excellent , right on Main Street with a lake view and lots of shade. Big doggie dish of water and a dog treat for our girl as well. Hubby had BLT, I had the pulled pork and it was delicious. Fresh bun, fresh toppings, plenty of moist tender pork and a very tasty sauce. Service was very friendly and helpful with beverage recommendations. It made for a nice finish to our afternoon spent in town.

Some of the best scrambled eggs I've had ever! We came for breakfast after a night at the resort to this unassuming cafe. We were met with cozy vibes, lakeside views, and the nicest workers. Breakfast is served till 11am and the entrees come with either potatoes or fruit. I tried their English muffin lox which came with a mound of their soft, creamy scrambled eggs sandwiched between. Also tried their breakfast wrap which again had some of the best eggs steaming hot with each bite. Also the potatoes were surprisingly good as well. I topped it off with a latte and it was the perfect end to our trip in town.

In 2019 we missed getting to go here due to the closures at Christmas time so we were eager to try it this year in 2021 when we went since it's one of the few places in Harrison with such high stars. So glad we did and wish we could have snuck another meal in here before we had to leave. The food is FRESH and cooked very well. The side fruit had tremendous a variety even though a lot of it wasn't in season and was entertaining to eat. I felt like I could have eaten a handful of the breakfast sandwiches they were so good. We also got the salmon lox, capers and Spanish onions on English muffin and that was fresh and amazing too right down the hash brown sides. My decaf American misto was done perfectly too. Sooo much goodness. After eating at practically everywhere in Harrison, I was so happy to find this place. The town needs more places that offer good, fresh food at decent prices.

This place is located right across the Lagoon in Harrison Hot Springs with plenty of diagonal street parking. They offer a great selection of food at a decent price. I ordered a salad, and it was so fresh that it tasted like the vegetables were just picked from the garden. The duck sandwich made with toasted cranberry bread was also amazing. One thing I noticed was that there were limited seats inside, so the wait for a table could be long.

There are a lot of places to get breakfast in Harrison, but this one is my favourite. They have really good muffins and baked goods. Their breakfast platters incorporate fresh seasonal fruits to add some colourful flair. The salads are terrific, and you have the option of adding protein in the form of bison patties, duck, chicken and other meats. Customer service is decent; it appears as if all the staff are related. Prices are significantly higher than some of the other breakfast places in Harrison, but you get what you pay for. The breakfast place with healthier options in Harrison Hot Springs.

We came to Muddy yesterday (Friday) at 1:30pm but full of people and busy. So came back again next day (Sat) 10:45am. Only few customers. We ordered 2 large size of espresso and Breakfast Bun & Breakfast Wrap. Big cup of warm steamed foam and espresso was great and made my feel so relaxed in the morning. Breakfast served until 11am. Both breakfast scrambled farms eggs and aged cheddar cheese are so good taste. Seasonal fresh fruits served with all breakfast. Baked pastries and other sandwiches also looked good! It was heavy rainy day and getting busier 11:30am~ Parking lots are front of cafe area. I enjoyed at Muddy water cafe. Thanks

Cozy little cafe in the heart of Harrison with a very delicious menu! This place is self serve and is good for brunch, and coffee breaks. I went during lunch hours and the service was good despite being busy. Service was good, but nothing special. The London fog latte I had was good! The tea flavour was there and it wasn't diluted. I also had an apple cake and wooah - delicious! Soft yet had a bit of texture with each bite. Tons of buttery, apple cinnamon flavour which I loved. I also had their soup of the day - there was no description but it tasted like a Thai basil soup with rice and other ingredients. Highly recommend this place if you're in the area

Steelhead and crab burger with tomato basil soup and an amber ale.

Lovely little cafe with a coveted patio. I had the steelhead and crab burger - the patty was obviously hand made and absolutely delicious, as was my companion's black bean burger. Toppings were simple - lettuce, tomato, and aioli - letting the patty be the star. Everything was very fresh tasting. The soup of the day was tomato basil, which is a favourite of mine, and it was a generous portion. Beers were from Old Yale Brewing. I thought it was very good value for the money. Friendly service too.

I will agree and disagree with some of these reviews from a perspective of a tourist but also someone who eats out a lot. The good: food was good, staff was friendly, ambience was enjoyable sitting outside near the lake in the shade. Family enjoyed the food, especially the fish although our pieces were crumbling and falling apart just touching them to move to other plates. Fries were good, tenders were good. Tartar sauce had a slight honey mustard taste which was a nice change. The bad: prices have gone up since last persons post 9 months ago. Items have increased $2-$3 dollars since then. Someone claiming the burgers were huge and could barely finish half of one, also confirmed by staff they were huge, was not so the case. It was a standard size burger I would compare to slightly shorter than a Big Mac at McDonald's. Other critique was the gravy on the poutine was slightly on the salty side as well. Dining bonus they give you 10% of at picnics ice cream and dessert place that is located next door. Overall it was a nice lunch but will cost you a considerate amount being in a tourist area. Our bill was $89 before tips for a family of 5 with a toddler sharing 3 entrees and drinking water.

The evening began with the reservation. I called twice to confirm. On the first call, a young man took the booking, confirmed the patio request, and then asked for my credit card over the phone for the 30 dollar no show fee. I declined and asked that he email me so I could provide it securely. No email arrived. I called again and spoke with a woman who assured me everything was confirmed. Upon arrival, I was told a patio reservation was impossible because they "do not do that." Fair enough, except the patio had an open table for eight. When I asked if we could take it, I was told it was reserved for a walk in. In the three hours we were there, that table remained untouched. Either the walk in was exceptionally punctual in not arriving, or the explanation was simply convenient. Now to the food, which unfortunately did not redeem the plot. Every steak ordered at our table was overcooked, and service pacing was inconsistent. Dishes arrived in scattered intervals, with one meal landing after the rest of the table had already finished. Even on a busy night, timing is part of hospitality, not an optional add on. I can forgive a kitchen having an off moment. What was harder to overlook was the lack of professionalism on the floor. A server's skirt repeatedly rode up to the point that her buttocks were visibly exposed while bending and leaning, including directly outside the glass beside our table. My niece, seated by the window, turned toward a noise and was met with an image no family dining experience should include. My sister discreetly and politely notified our waitress, as one would hope someone would do for them. The issue continued multiple times afterward. There was no manager on duty. We were given the owner's number, and I left a voicemail. If I receive a response, I will gladly update this review. As it stands, I cannot recommend this restaurant. Between the reservation contradictions, overcooked steaks, erratic pacing, and a front of house standard that fell well below basic expectations, the experience missed the mark in ways that were both avoidable and unnecessary.

Despite it being quite busy, the service was remarkably fast, efficient and friendly! The environment on a Saturday was definitely "pre-party" in that the music was loud (but just under being too loud), the crowd was happy and having fun. It is a pub, but kids are allowed until 9pm. As for the food, we just ordered the calamari and the wings (salt & pepper as the hubby can't eat chilies). We were really surprised at how good they both were. The calamari had a thin, crispy coating that wasn't too greasy. The wings were properly and fully cooked without being overcooked. So many busy pubs serve half raw wings, so I was really pleased with the wings. Also, I thought the chicken was of good quality, not something I usually notice with this dish.

Cold in Every Possible Sense…read more My experience at Lakeside Restaurant was profoundly unpleasant, not because of a single mistake, but because of an overwhelming atmosphere of coldness--both literal and human. The dining area was uncomfortably cold, to the point where it detracted from any ability to relax or enjoy a meal. Patrons should not have to keep their coats on indoors to endure a restaurant experience. This alone signals a lack of basic consideration for customer comfort. More troubling, however, was the emotional temperature of the establishment. The service was distant, indifferent, and unwelcoming. There was no warmth, no attentiveness, and no sense that customers were valued. Interactions felt transactional at best and dismissive at worst. Hospitality is not merely about food; it is about atmosphere, care, and respect--none of which were present here. A restaurant situated by a lake should evoke comfort, warmth, and hospitality. Instead, Lakeside Restaurant felt sterile, uninviting, and inhospitable. I left feeling unwelcome and eager to be anywhere else. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a comfortable, welcoming dining experience.

Ice-Cold Food, Ice-Colder Attitude…read more Lakeside Restaurant manages the rare feat of being cold in every conceivable sense of the word--and not in a charming, minimalist way. The dining room was so uncomfortably cold that it felt less like a restaurant and more like an unheated waiting room. Keeping your coat on is not a "vibe"; it is a failure of basic hospitality. Unfortunately, the temperature was the least offensive aspect of the experience. The service was frigid, detached, and borderline hostile. There was no warmth, no courtesy, and no pretense of welcoming guests. Staff moved through the space with the enthusiasm of people who would clearly rather be anywhere else, making customers feel like an inconvenience instead of patrons. A restaurant by the lake should lean into warmth, comfort, and atmosphere. Lakeside Restaurant instead delivers sterility, indifference, and a sense of being quietly judged for having the audacity to show up. It felt less like dining and more like being tolerated. Hospitality is about human connection. Lakeside Restaurant offers none. I left cold, uncomfortable, and genuinely confused as to how this place remains in operation.
