Posatives: Great setting; wooded areas as well as open areas. Two lodges, two large swimming pools, mini golf, kids climer, Bball court, etc... Water and Power at most sites. Several shower/bathroom buildings. Some areas have great views of the valley. Negatives: Limited sites with sewer hook-ups, can't be reserved. (mostly overtaken by full-timers) While you can make reservations you cannot reserve specific sites. Several sites are in disrepair (but it is apparent that they are making renovations and upgrades) Not near any major attractions. Others: No wifi Conclusions: Great place to spend a weekend and pehaps even a week. If you are an outdoors kind of person there are lots of opportunities in the area for fishing and hiking etc...

Both lodges were clean and nicely stocked. Most importantly, when we checked in, we had the most friendly Ranger : Jan. She was fantastic. Making sure we had what we needed, knew our way around, supplied us with an updated map and such friendly and welcoming conversation. She was a true example of what all staff should be like. It was our first time playing Riverside and I think it is fairly priced and well-maintained. It…read morewas about a 70 mile drive for each of us but we'll do it again. We were paired with another twosome and they were fun to play with. It was a Saturday and I think the course was close to being full yet it didn't feel crowded. No long waits on the group in front of us. It was worth the drive and I'll play it again. The only downside was the golf carts. Our first cart (#8) had issues starting promptly and we exchanged it after about three holes. We loaded our things into #57 and started out again. It was initially slow to start also and we attributed that to perhaps the engine being cold and thought it would get. Unfortunately, it did not. After each stop, we needed to depress the accelerator for about 5+ seconds before the starter would engage. Once started, it ran fine but the delay leaving each tee-box, each subsequent shot and each green was definitely annoying. Here's hoping the carts were a fluke and we'll be back.
