Before visiting with Dr. Heeder, I was in the dark wilderness wondering around about what Chiropractic was. I had been to a Chiropractor before, a few times, to get "readjusted" when I felt lower back pain, but the pain would come back, so I went to get another "readjustment" That is what I thought the practice of chiropractic was. Get a stiffness, soreness, etc and go see a chiropractor to get realigned. Rinse, and repeat when needed! I fell under the spell of the old guard system. Pay, put on a band-aid, and come back a few months later. Was cyclical, no real treatment of the cause, just a temporary fix on the pain? Sure, I felt great after getting a treatment, but never was happy because the pain would come back, and I thought what a racket Drs of Chiropractic have! Then,......with some skepticism in the back of my head,.. I was offered a free consultation with Dr. H and it was impressively throughout. He explained the areas of concern, showed me my x-rays, computed results, and offered a comprehensive package to start my journey to a better health through a non-traditional (the old guard system) method of chiropractic. Which was actually focusing on the underlying causes, not just a snap, crackle, and pop. After two visits with him, I was convinced he had the deepest compassionate care for his patients. He wanted me to start living a better live without the need of a "band-aid" fix. He wanted better health for me than I did! His passion for greater health for his patients is contagious, as now I am a HUGE believer in his methods. I have had sleeping problems and chronic sinusitis for a good part of my adult life. I would go no longer than 1 hour max at night without getting woken up by bad sinuses, sleep apnea, or just general anxiety. I am so gratefully saying now that I am seriously sleeping better. My wife is ecstatic because I am not getting up throughout the night and waking her up!! Come on guys, we all know it,..Happy Wife = Happy Life!! Also, the last week I have been having some thick discharge, sorry maybe TMI, coming out of my sinus area. I am also breathing better and do not feel the pressure on the front of my face anymore. I met Dr. Heeder through some colleagues of mine. I have a lot of experience with chiropractic care, so I knew basically what to expect when I arrived. In addition to the normal x-rays and general discussion of problems associated with spinal misalignment, Dr. Harry and I were able to discuss the symptoms and develop a plan of attack. The one thing that I really appreciate is that the office also offers complimentary classes and wants to create full mind-body wellness. After months of headaches and pain, I already feel better. Tl;DR Dr. Heeder presented a lot of falsifiable claims and then refused to provide the services (two adjustments, not one) that were originally agreed to and paid for. The yelp reivews for his practice appear to be doctored (pun intended;). We met Dr Harry Heeder at the Hillcrest farmers market last weekend. My lady has been having pretty severe sciatica pain with her current pregnancy and she wanted to see if there was anything a chiropractor could do to help. Dr. Heeder gave her a free brief exam and convinced her that he could help her with the pain if she came in for a couple of adjustments for $130. He also said he'd do some kind of stess test to help find any other problems with her spine. So, she went in the next day, paid him $130, took the stress test and got an adjustment. Then we went in together last night (I came along at Dr. Heeder's suggestion) to go over the stress test results and get her another adjsutment. Upon arrival, Dr Heeder went into a lengthy presentation on the test results, especially the EEG test. He described the brain as working like a transmission in a car, with different gears. He said my lady's brain was stuck in 1st gear, and was operating similarly to a 10 year child's brain. I found this to be awesome and hysterical at the same time. Then Dr Heeder explained how the spinal cord is like a bundle of network cables that communiate to various parts of the body and how an out of alignemnt spine can impact every organ in the body, especially the brain and reproductive organs like the uterus (keep in mind she is pregnant). I asked about my lady's specific problem (sciatica) a couple of times and Dr Heeder explained that it was merely a single symptom of a much larger problem. At this point in his pitch, it was clear to me that Dr. Heeder had neither the expertise nor the tools to support the kind of analysis that he was presenting. I could go into more detial about EEGs, test methodology, and the spinal cord theories he touched on but this review would get way too long. All I will say is this, talk to your primary care physician, do some research from independent sources, and come to your own conclusions. Finally, the treatment plan options came out. He had two options, one was for 3 adjsutments per week over the rest of the pregnancy for around $2000. The other plan was for a one adjsutment per week plan that was about $1000. Keep in mind that all we signed up for at the farmers market was two adjustments and an assessment for $130. So we said we'd have to talk about the plans he was presenting, as our insurance didn't cover anything. I also mentioned that her physician had referred her to physical therapy. At that point Dr Heeder looked visibly disappointed. He offered us a discount if we gave him a credit card on the spot. He said we needed to prioritize our lives and find the resources to get this very necesssary treatment. He said that going to physical therapy was like getting an electrical problem fixed by a plumber and wouldn't help. So at this point we just asked to get the second adjustment, figuring that if it helped, maybe she'd come back next week for another one. Dr Heeder said the second adjustment was not included in the $130 we paid. He said that it was only included if we agreed to a long term treatment plan. He offered to do an adjustment for an addiitonal $60. At his point my lady was upset as this is not the agreement that was made at the farmers market. She maintains that Dr Heeder said "two adjustments" not "two adjustments if you agree to a treatment plan." So there was some kind of miscommunication and/or misrepresentation there. Reading through the 9 previously posted yelp reviews, I also have pretty serious concerns about how many were written by Dr Heeder himself. It appears that 6 of the reviewers wrote very similarly worded reviews that were either their first or second review posted. If I was to guess, I'd say that Dr. Heeder has created several ficitonal accounts that he writes yelp reviews under and he has used them to bolster his business. I understand this is a pretty serious allegation. If true, it implies that Mr Heeder has no qualms about intentionally misrepresenting himself to patients. Considering the miscommunicationa t the farmers amrket, it makes sense that Dr. Heeder would do something like that. In closing, the experience with Dr. Heeder was a somewhat costly and humerous validation of what I had heard previously from the internet, friends, and coworkers about Chiropractors. If there are legitimate chiropractors out there, I've never met one. read more

Dr. Harry just opened his office in Hillcrest. I had seen a chiropractor before but it was nothing like this. I always thought that Chiropractic was more of a rubber stamp process for pain relief. But with Dr. Harry, I am getting individualized care. He spends quality time analyzing my spine so that he can deliver the appropriate adjustments for my body at that time. Since my adjustments began with Dr. Harry, my body feels better, I am hardly ever "sick" and I am just generally in a better mood, which for me says a lot. I highly recommend those of you who are not sure about Chiropractic (and those of you who are), go see Dr. Harry. He will make a believer out of you too. Thought I would post an update. Still going to see Dr. H and feeling better all the time. I now have quite a bit more energy and I think I am getting more blood to my brain because it's not as difficult for me to concentrate anymore. I was suffering miserably for 2 months with a terrible pain behind my right shoulder blade. My regular provider said anti-inflammatories and muscle relaxers were the path to take, with physical therapy as an option if the meds failed. I have been extremely hesitant to add any more pills to my daily regimen, ( hence the 2 months of pain), and my wife has had no relief from her back pain for 5 years attending the same physical therapy as I would be. I had several professional deep tissue messages that left me in worse pain than before. I was about to turn to the pills when I met with Dr Heeder. He gave me a free consult, and a thorough scan. He explained every step in detail, as we progressed. On my return visit for the results (included in the complimentary consult at the time) he also provided me a simple exercise to help with my shoulder pain. I got instant relief! Please know up front- I'm not an easy sell. I'm a down to earth, retired Marine Master Sergeant (25 years). I still work for the DoD, and deal with real situations, problems and solutions in the most straightforward and common sense approach possible. That being said, let me tell you- Dr Heeder is for real. I was very impressed, and set up regular sessions for adjustments. I really appreciate the way Dr Heeder explains my condition, how I got there, what we are doing and where we are going to correct it. It's been a couple months, but my back no longer wakes me up when I sleep in on weekends, and the range of motion in my neck has increased to where my 14 year old daughter even commented on how much further I can turn my head to check my blind spot while driving! I sleep more soundly at night, and have increased energy. I can sit behind my desk for longer periods of time without having to get up to relieve my stiff back. I had attributed everything to age, and an accepted result of the ultra physical lifestyle of the Marines. Dr Heeder proved I was wrong, and am I glad he did! Dr. Heeder promotes a healthy lifestyle, much more so than the usual "Eat right and exercise" song I always get from regular Doctors. He also has a way of conveying information without pushing too hard. He subtly convinced me, over time, to WANT to adopt a healthier lifestyle, without aggressively shoving it down my throat. He treats you as a friend and an adult. It's obvious to all his patients how much he cares about each one of us. The staff at his office are absolutely the friendliest, cheerful and accommodating Dr's office staff I've ever encountered, bar none. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the adjustment visits take only minutes. You'll be heading into your appt, and the people coming out will all be smiling. No joke on that. We found Dr. Harry through the internet, while looking for a chiropractic office that was open on a Saturday morning. We called his office and he was able to see us within the hour. My husband, who suffered a brain injury, had pain in his neck and was unable to turn it. Dr. Harry examined & adjusted him and my husband felt immediate relief. Under the care of Dr. Harry, my husband is now more agile in his neck and is more flexible. The results have shown in his performance in physical therapy and continues to improve. Dr. Harry is very patient and is great at explaining how the adjustments benefit the body and cares about his patients' health.
