Was super nervous to come here. I didn't know what to expect for my first chiropractor visit. But by time the hour long appointment finished, I was turned from a skeptic into a believer. But not just to chiropractors in general...just this one. I was walked through ever step and was educated through a parallel process. He made me feel comfortable enough to ask questions, to probe , to express doubts and fears and at every step, he eased my nerves. I walked away with a back free of pain, some more flexibility in my chest and shoulder (which he said connects to other parts of my body and was contributing to my back ailment) and a neck that was also reset. He readjusted my mid back which he said was the cause of my lower back pain. He did a series of rehab on me. Some super quick. Some painful but it was short term pain when he grabbed some area of my neck that needed to be pulsated. Some I barely felt a thing. Majority of the time it felt good. I was given stretches to do to maintain and was told to make sure I get some yoga in my workout routine to help with my back. I hope to never ever see them again. Because that means my program is working. But if I ever do, I will be going here. Plus you start off in a massage chair before you see the doc and who doesn't like a massage! Even if it's in a machine. They take insurance and their fees are super reasonable. read more

It is about time that I write an update on Upstanding Care Chiropractic. My previous review was on my friend's experience on his chiropractic care. This review will be on my own experience. In late 2023, I started helping out my Zumba instructor friend on his fitness classes, so my workout routine became more regular, which comes out to about 2 one hour classes every week as well as 3 to 4 special events (ranging from 90 minutes to 3 hours). Some days would have 2 special events (which would be 4.5 hours of working out). About 6 months after helping my Zumba instructor friend, my left hip started to hurt. I normally don't complain but I must have complained enough that my Zumba instructor friend said that I needed to go see a Chiropractor. My treatments were about 3 times a month from May 2024 to Sept 2024. In the treatments, Dr Matt would adjust to how my left hip was feeling and visually see how my back muscles were. Over the course of the treatment, we figured out thru our chats that I had to adjust the following in my normal daily life: - office chair (invested in one with lower back support) - computer monitors (weren't placed properly height wise and I was turning my head a lot instead of looking straight) - how I was driving (apparently the seat in my car was too far back when I drive) - how I slept (I would always sleep on my left side; now, I have to sleep on my back - "dead man pose") - at some point on my own, I also ordered some new fitness bras (with better back support) - which apparently makes a difference too (lol) In the office visits, Dr Matt would adjust but then also gave me "homework" at home to practice sitting up straight (I hunch a lot). What I love about Dr Matt, he's focused on holistic care, so the root cause was apparently my left big toe. One toe wreaks havoc on my entire left leg up to my lower back. Who knew? At this point, I visit Dr Matt about once a month for "maintenance". All I do now is keep up with Dr Matt's advice on what exercises to do at home and remember to sit up straight! All in All - I still 100% wholeheartedly agree with what their website says: - Experienced knowledge with communication - A chiropractor who cares You just have to put some "elbow grease" to "do the work" of what Dr Matt suggests. No nonsense. P.S. I also recommended my boyfriend to go since his left foot was hurting. Context - my boyfriend is highly skeptical fellow, so I had to describe my Zumba friend's experience and my own experience before he went to go see Dr Matt. My boyfriend doesn't always share his experience with me, but every time he goes to Dr Matt, he comes back telling me about Dr Matt's French Bulldogs. I take it to mean that the treatments are working because my boyfriend keeps going back to Dr Matt (i.e. he can go use his military benefits elsewhere "for free" but chooses pays out of pocket for Dr Matt). Best ever! Being a 72 year old practicing dentist, I've been to several chiropractors/osteopaths over the years who were okay, good, great. Dr. Matt Upchurch is amazing..far and above all of them! TLDR (in order): life changing, pain-free snap crackle pops, good resources, can coordinate care, amazing team/office, cute dogs People think I exaggerate when I say that I'm fairly certain Matt and the team at Upstanding Care changed my life. But I always thought neck pain and aches were something I just had to live with. It started with my annual physical where my primary care/MD asked about pain and I casually mentioned "neck stuff." He proceeded to say "actually, this would be a good use of a chiropractor" I stumbled upon Matt through Cigna's listing and proceeded to nervously book an appointment: all I knew about chiropractors were the snap, crackle, pops from TikTok. I had NO idea what was going to happen to me. And the million dollar question? No the snap crackle and pops do *not* hurt at all! From the first visit, Matt has been generous in his knowledge, making sure that I'm informed about what is going on and why I'm feeling the way that I do. Because of my pain, my MD recommended both a chiropractor and physical therapy. And when I showed my PT what Matt suggested, they literally said: yup looks great do that! After my first visit, I couldn't believe my head was able to turn in the directions I was able to move them in and I left with practical things I can implement. Matt also offered to coordinate care across my MD/PT team to make sure I was getting exactly what I needed. I've always heard people talk about a "care team" and it was the first time I felt like one could existed if I asked for it.A few short months later, my neck and shoulder pain very rarely activates, and that is from sharp pain that would stop me from wanting to engage in any computer work at all. His team is FANTASTIC. Seeing Vanessa who manages the office is always a bright spot to my day, she is pull of positive energy and makes me feel at home. Ever, who runs his marketing, is also just frankly... good people. He has two cute dogs that haven't decided if they like me yet - but I like them enough for the both of us. Definitely check this place out if you're thinking about a chriopractor. Best part? He takes insurance so I pay next to nothing to receive really great care, get adjusted, be more mobile, live pain free, and feel happier! I've referred my closest friends/network to him, am leaving this review, all without any prompting from him/the team/office, and not in exchange for any perks/discount - I truly love this place that much! Nothing but the most amazing things to say. I've been to countless chiropractors over the years and I've found some very good ones, but truly no one compares to Dr. Matt. He's not your "get on the table, let me crack you, and you're out of here" type guy. He's truly someone that cares about his clients and seeing their success from overcoming the simplest injuries to ones more severe. He has such a fun/positive mindset that is comforting and always has the answers! I saw the light at the end of the tunnel. Lawd Jesus I feel like I've been reborn LOL I had a breast reduction a few months ago with caused a bit of problems with my posture. My posture wasn't great before the surgery, but with less weight to carry now, it made it worse. Matt was very informative in what he was doing and what needed work. I honestly had a fear of chiropractors but I felt safe and comfortable. And his 2 pups who are "paw-fect" healthcare specialists and security guards made the session even better. Matt has an amazing facility! It is currently in a small space but with good flow to the space he has. This is important to me as a reviewer because ambiance and overall feel of a place is my first preference when I go somewhere for any kind of therapy. Next, something I didn't even know was important to me until I experienced service at Upstanding Care: the process of care. It's not just a crack and go chiropractic service. First, you have the option in the waiting space to sit in a massager, get some red light therapy, or get some time in a leg pressure circulation machine. Then when you get on the table, Matt starts off with getting a feel for your problem areas as he asks you where you think your problems are. I say this because he also educates his patients as he narrows in on the actual problem, and how what we think it is was actually a byproduct of another imbalance somewhere. So he preps you by doing some deep tissue or stretching and then leaves you to warm up under a heating pad while he cracks another patient before he comes back to you. By the time he comes back to you, you are ready to get cracking! Totally felt like a concierge chiropractic care facility. AND NO! I did not get paid to leave this review. If you want to know the validity of this review, you should see the kind of review I leave when it's a one star review from me. PS. Matt is like no other chiropractor I've seen! He is so knowledgeable about the physical and physiological body. He not only helps treat your ailment but also educates you on how to follow through with that treatment at home. Every session I have with Matt is life-changing, no joke! My body is aligned and I feel less pain. Matt is such a good listener and because of that it makes him a true healer. The office is clean and professionally equipped with several chiropractic tables and the latest technological devices. I came here for a series of "passive modality" treatments for my thumbs and hands. The treatments were far from passive and in addition to electro stimulation, Dr Upchurch personally treated me with ultrasound and chiropractic adjustments. I had experienced early onset neuropathy in my right thumb and started regaining sensitivity after only 3-4 treatments. After 6 treatments I have regained full sensitivity, and will continue treatments when and as needed. Dr. Matt Upchurch is a unique practitioner. He tunes in to what you need, takes the time to assess what might have changed between appointments and tailors your service uniquely at each visit. Besides being highly competent in his ability to physically adjust you, he also has all sorts of great equipment that helps enhance your experience and attend to your aches and body needs. I personally love the compression boots and the muscle-making machines to help me recovery from some extensive surgery. He is also a personal trainer.
