I am writing to formally document my disappointment and concern regarding the treatment I received…read moreat my most recent scheduled appointment. Let me start by saying Dr. Patel is truly amazing. Renee at the front desk is also amazing as well! However, in the past year or so, something has changed and now it's about the money and NOT the service. Let me explain: I am a long-term patient of Dr. Patel and I had a confirmed appointment for a routine checkup and cleaning in the Palos Heights office, both of which are fully covered under my insurance plan. However, upon arrival, I was denied care and turned away due to an outstanding balance on my account. That balance has already been submitted to my insurance company as part of a pending appeal and, therefore, should not have prevented me from receiving services that are otherwise covered in full. Plus, I'm a long term client and have always paid my invoice on time. Denying a patient preventive care under these circumstances is, in my view, both unprofessional and unacceptable. Preventive appointments such as cleanings and checkups are critical to ongoing oral health, and there is no justification for refusing treatment that carries no financial risk to either myself or their office. As a result of this experience, I will not be returning to your practice. Moreover, I had previously referred both my daughter and my brother to your office, but given the way my case was handled, I can no longer recommend your services. I have also spoke with other people who had the same experience with being denied service. I hope their office carefully reviews this matter and reconsiders its policies to ensure that other patients are not denied appropriate care in similar circumstances. I'm worried now if I (or anyone with an outstanding balance) had an emergency, You'd have to find another dentist quickly as they would not provide service. This is very bad as I truly like the dentist and the front office staff.

Choosing DentalWorks is the undisputed worst decision that I have made in a very long time!!! Dr…read more Luckett is 100% incompetent and I am disgusted by him and this entire experience. I went for an exam and was told that I needed a root canal. Fine! I get the root canal done and weeks after, I am having toothaches. I call the office multiple times and get no answer. I finally talk to someone and I ask them how is it possible that I'm having continued toothaches if the nerves were removed? I was told to come back in for another exam to figure out the problem. This joke of a dentist looks me right in my face and tells me that I just need to get both teeth removed. Both?? I said to him that I was told I only needed one. He said "No, I did 2 root canals." I know it to be a fact that I was told that I only needed ONE! I decide to get a second opinion because extracting my teeth seemed extreme. Thank God I did!! I have had 3 x-rays done at 3 different dental offices and THEY ALL CAME TO THE SAME CONCLUSION: BOTH OF MY ROOT CANALS WERE INCOMPLETE. That's what was causing my pain. Also, that my teeth DID NOT NEED TO BE EXTRACTED! They saw this IMMEDIATELY as they looked at the x-rays which mean DR. LUCKETT SAW IT TOO!!! Instead of admitting to and correcting his mistake, this jackhole suggested I take my teeth out and even had me schedule an appointment to have them extracted. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!! Trying to cover up his mistake by removing my teeth and had I not got a second opinion, I'd be toothless right now. I talked to the office manager who confirmed by billing and office note that only one root canal was needed. So, guess what that means? In addition to them being incomplete, he performed a root canal on a tooth that didn't even need it!! ON TOP OF THAT, he broke a file in my gums. Now I have to have the root canal retreated and if the doctor is not able to remove the broken file, because it's very deep in my gums, I will have to undergo surgery. The doctor will have to cut my gums open to remove the piece of broken file. The other tooth, unfortunately, will have to be extracted at this point. All of this has transpired over the course of about 11 months and I didn't feel the need to publicize my experience until now. I have been back and forth with the office manager regarding this situation. She's lovely but my frustration lies with the fact that she can't do anything to resolve my issues. She's delivering messages between me and someone else through a RIDICULOUS chain of command. It's disgusting!!! I am a human being, not a dog!!! Why can I not speak directly with someone that is actually able to resolve my issue? Am I the scum of the earth that they cannot even take the time or effort to speak with me? I would like direct communication so that we can reach a resolution once and for all! I was offered a refund for my root canal. But, what about all of the work I need done? They said they'd pay for it but won't refund me for the root canal, which was $347!!! I should be refunded simply based off the fact that HE DIDN'T COMPLETE IT!!!! Is that not common sense or common courtesy? With these offers, they basically want me to sign away my right to make any further disputes regarding this mishap. WHY WOULD I DO THAT WHEN IT'S LEADING TO EXTENSIVE TREATMENT? After an extraction, I now have to worry about my teeth shifting, etc. ALL IN ALL, THIS IS A DEPLORABLE DENTAL PRACTICE!!!! How they've chosen to deal with me is even more disgusting instead of admitting to wrong doing and providing reparations. GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!

0 rating is possible! This team needs to Refund my money for a service that was not done correctly…read more I have been patient and beyond calm. Dr. Guthrie could have ruined my sons health with his botched oral procedure and NO ONE has had the decency to even respond to me after many emails and phone calls. They left a tooth, infection set in; if my child didn't go get a second opinion when he started experiencing pain and have oral surgery done at that time (this is a second surgery to correct Dr. Guthrie's botched surgery), he could have possibly lost part of his jaw bone!! This Dental Works team told me his the surgery was successful...lies!! Dental works and whomever else endorses or utilizes this surgery team needs to dissolve all ties with this team and Dr. Guthrie needs to have his license revoked! DO NOT USE THIS DENTAL PRACTICE!!

I was very impressed with the staff members at the front desk, very friendly and efficient.I contacted the office and they got me in right away. I saw Dr. Rohan Bansan who was very compassionate and knowledgeable. He really took his time when he examined me and also spent the time explaining things to me in detail. Thank you. Dr. Rohan. The next day after I saw Dr. Rohan and he made his recommenations for treatment I went into the office to have a cleaning done. I was again impressed with the friendly staff. The hygienist, Samantha was just wonderful. She gave me an excellent exam before the cleaning. She is very knowledgeable and compassionate. She really took her time to explain everything to me and also recommended some suggestions which I found very helpful. I would definitely reccommend this office for your future denistry. Awesome Job!! Thanks

Unfortunately the new staff and surroundings did not meet my expectations. The hygienist room was loud and I could everything being said by a dentist and his young patient and mother nearby. I thought they were in the room with me. I was in there for 2 hours and never got my teeth cleaned since a routine cleaning would not be performed. I came in with no signs or symptoms of gum disease but experienced essentially unnecessary probing of my gums with multiple numbers heard with no ongoing explanation of their significance. I insisted that no deep cleaning would be performed due to a prior painful experience. Per Dr. Siefferman, deep tissue cleaning is only necessary if there is evidence of peridontal disease. Significant complications can also result from deep cleaning making a condition benign to something serious. The hygienist probe is essentially subjective with a number only suggestive of further analysis. No blood was noted on the probe and my gums were neither sore or inflamed. Dr. Litkowski noted an area on the X-ray as a potential problem but made no comparison of an earlier X-ray showing a static condition or evidence of progression. I pointed out that I went 60 plus year with routine cleaning though she insisted that this is the new way. Not my way so i chose the highway.
