Not fixed

So I never wrote a review before, but my guy Harry here earned one. I walked in with a 14k 8inch curb link bracelet to get shortened to 7.5 inch and a 14k 24inch rope chain looking to get repair. He checked out the rope chain and said there quite a few spots, 4 including the where the chain clips together. I Was told it would be a total of $175.00, or depending on the gold leftover, IF IT MATCHED THE SAME AMOUNT, then we would swap. I agreed so I left my stuff got a receipt, came back, a few days later to pick it up. I was in bit of a rush, saw the Bracelet was fine exactly what I asked for, perfect. Saw the chain fixed in one spot was thinking "dang maybe he's just not that great at fixing oh well the price wasn't that bad", looks like its you get what u pay for work", my my first time there. He then tells me the gold ended up matching the exact amount he was gonna charge me so I say cool thanks leave. Totally didn't get a receipt- my screw up, I'm in a hurry I leave. Go to work get home late, weigh my curb link bracelet which was at 33 grams, and is now at 26 grams. I thought, "woah That's a bit more than I expected, well let me check the chain". I see the chain and it's only fixed in 2 spots, and just looks like he tossed a bubble on it and pinched it together. (See pictures below) I thought he fixed the chain clip, but, it just needed to be bent back from what it looks like he did- nothing new was added instead he kept the extra clip that I DIY'D my self wich was also 14k from another chain. Sooo? Was that a fix? So I was thinking maybe a 3/4 grams would've been taken out, but 7 grams and the missing clip, and only 2 spots poorly fixed? I call the next day ask if I could go back get my gold and pay him for the work because I was TOLD that the gold matched THE EQUAL price he told me $175.00. Harry tells me "oh no I melted the gold, you should've told me in person" I tell him "I was expecting honesty when you said the price matched the gold you were not honest with me". He then tells me "well I have fees to pay to melt the gold so it's more than just 175.00 to melt it". Okay, well look at my chain sir here are the pictures below it's only fixed in 2 spots? There's still 2 other spots needing fixing and the spots you fixed look like you just put a bubble on the area and pinched it together? If the bracelet costed 40$ to be cut off and shortened and the rest was to fix the chain that didn't get fixed in all 4 places, with my clip taken off, then how does that equal my 7 grams of gold ? And my chain only went from 26 grams to 26.1 lol. Im was not rude. I was polite drove 45 minutes to go just to you. I'm not a wealthy person, I'm normal and save up because I do like nice things and will pay the extra or go the extra mile to get it done nicely and correctly. And I am a loyal costumer, but never will be for harry after this first time visit at HARRYS JEWELRY in RANCHO CUCAMONGA. (What's circled red is the two different spots from two different angels that were "fixed" what's black is 3 other spots that didn't get touched at all ) Edit: Second review because now I'm actually upset Harry is out here straight lying. Sir to my first review I said I didn't mind the rope chain work because I just assumed you have terrible work and I was willing to still pay for that. Once arriving home my BRACELET was in fact scaled on 3 different scales. Weighing at 25.9grams when its original weight was 33 grams flat THEN, I realized my chain wasn't even fixed nicely and in only 2 areas when you stated there were multiple, so whatever I paid in gold equaled the work you did?? Did I just come up with these numbers out my ass?? Look at the pictures Harry. How do I just make this up? For shits a giggles? Do you think I enjoy making reviews? Or making a yelp just for you?? I was hoping for a honest jeweler. That being said I did have a clip TAKEN from my CHAIN we both saw it in person I even told you I added it myself. You said it in person "this clip doesn't belong to this chain". Also over the phone I said I'll gladly pay for the work but that I was told it was FAIR TRADE FOR THE GOLD, so that's why I did it! When in fact it was no where near. I'm not a dishonest person Harry do not make me out to be. If you charge 40$ to cut a bracelet, and 135 to fix a rope. Then look at my pictures and tell me why only 2 spots are fixed and I paid 7 grams in gold and my clip was TAKEN. And why was I told it was a fair trade. What did you do for me here that made this whole transaction fair?? Please explain the pictures Harry. Cuz 7 grams and a missing clip, for a simple bracelet cut is not it. Even if it was the weight you say "5.8gram". It still doesn't equal what you did for me. That alone is 300$ of gold value. So thanks for admitting that even tho it's still a lie. Thank you for your dishonesty.

I actually told my sister, "I'm not even looking to purchase another ring, but the way this woman is making me feel, if they can't do what I want, I may end up buying another engagement ring anyway!" What made the experience even more meaningful was that I had literally just walked out of another jewelry store nearby after having a very unpleasant experience. The difference between the two businesses was night and day. The moment I approached the door and rang the bell, I was immediately welcomed inside. I met both Margarita and Caesar, explained what I was hoping to create, and Caesar instantly began assisting me with professionalism, courtesy, and kindness. I came in looking to create a custom engagement ring using two rings I had already purchased, and they immediately reassured me that it could be done. Not only were they knowledgeable, but they truly cared about helping me make the right decision. Caesar and Margarita listened carefully to the direction I wanted to go while also offering thoughtful guidance and options I had not even considered. Margarita especially emphasized how important it is to choose the right ring for such a meaningful moment in life, and I completely agreed with her perspective. They provided me with a fair quote, patiently walked me through different possibilities, and then showed me several beautiful rings in the store that were honestly far better than what I had previously purchased elsewhere. What stood out most was not just the jewelry, but the atmosphere they created. They made me feel respected, important, and appreciated the entire time I was there. Their professionalism, friendliness, and genuine customer care completely changed my experience and restored my confidence during what should be a joyful and memorable purchase. Thank you, Margarita and Caesar, for your outstanding service, honesty, warmth, and professionalism. Experiences like this are exactly why businesses like yours deserve to be recognized and supported.

We were loyal customers of Alexander Jewelers for over 10 years, and what happened recently was…read moredeeply disappointing and heartbreaking for our family. My husband served on active duty in the United States Navy, deployed overseas between Dubai and Kuwait. During that deployment, both the engagement ring and the wedding band were specially made as symbols of commitment, sacrifice, and family. When he returned home, we wanted those two rings customized into a single ring, which is why we brought them to Alexander Jewelers. Before any warranty was issued, Alexander Jewelers first appraised and evaluated both rings, confirmed their condition, and only after that appraisal issued a Diamond & Gemstone Warranty. They were enthusiastic about the rings, willingly took them on, and over the years welded, resized, and customized the rings in their shop. We also paid for additional services and enhancements whenever recommended. As part of the warranty, we were required to bring the rings in for six-month inspections, which explicitly included complimentary cleaning -- something we did faithfully for many years, including as recently as one month ago. The warranty and inspection booklet were personally issued and signed by the owners. The inspection record is signed by Jake Tekin, and the appraisal was prepared and signed by Raymond Tekin (GIA Graduate Diamonds). Jake himself cleaned the rings many times over the years and has seen our children grow up, which makes what happened next even more shocking. When we recently came in calmly and respectfully seeking clarification about why cleaning was suddenly being refused, Jake became rude and accusatory, claiming we were "yanking his arm," "being aggressive," and "making his staff uncomfortable." None of this was true. We were not yelling, not hostile, and were simply asking reasonable questions about a sudden policy change. He also stated that we "must have been given the warranty by accident," despite years of documented service and inspections. As a long-standing family in Rancho Cucamonga (over 25 years in the community, even before Victoria Gardens was built), being falsely characterized this way during a calm conversation was deeply upsetting. We believe in respect, accountability, and honoring long-standing relationships -- especially with families who have supported a business for a decade. What should have been a straightforward discussion about policy turned into false accusations and dismissal, instead of transparency and professionalism. After years of loyalty, paid services, and trust, this experience was devastating. We will never return, will never refer anyone, and strongly caution others -- especially long-time customers and military families -- to think carefully about whether this business truly stands behind the values it claims. This was a painful end to what we believed was a trusted relationship built on shared American values.

However, as a consumer, I rely heavily on ratings and reviews when choosing a business, so I feel it's important to share my experience. I have lived in Rancho Cucamonga since 1989, and it has been a very long time since I've encountered the level of discrimination, prejudice, and racial profiling that I recently experienced at this jewelry store. I was previously married for 18 years before my wife passed away. Recently, I've been blessed to find someone new who has brought comfort and healing into my life. I am now at a place to express my appreciation and commitment. I have been searching for an engagement ring for over a year. I have visited many jewelry stores and while service varies some, I had never been treated in a way that made me feel unwelcome, until this experience. I had previously purchased a ring while traveling out of state, but after closer inspection, I decided it wasn't the right choice. I then ordered another ring online because it closely matched what I was looking for, and the 30 day return policy gave me confidence to try it. However, once it arrived, I had concerns about its authenticity and simply wanted a professional verification. When I first visited this store, I was addressed through a doorbell camera and was not even allowed inside. I was told they do not perform appraisals. I left, but later returned with the intention of inquiring about a custom ring using pieces I had already purchased, as well as verifying whether the stones were genuine diamonds. Upon being allowed inside, the experience did not improve, the service was cold. The gentleman assisting me was unfriendly, walked away and offered no meaningful assistance. His communication was dismissive and rude. Another employee briefly assisted me, but when I asked if they could test the stones, I was told "No they can't do that you purchase it." This was surprising, of a jewelry store. When I asked about custom work, I was quickly handed a business card and told to email details. With no effort to even look at the ring, despite being the only customer in the store. I left and contacted another jewelery store and asked if they could test diamonds, immediately response was, "Of course we are a jewelry store." The difference in professionalism and customer service was clear. Ultimately, I chose to purchase a brand new engagement ring from that second store. Their team was welcoming, attentive, and made me feel valued as a customer.

Juan, I appreciate your reply on Yelp and your restatement of policies on your website…read more You conveniently ignored or downplayed the customer service issues experienced and lazily attribute fault to your "customer portal" as though trying to double bill customers and not communicating things is a normal business practice. You restated yourself that it typically takes 1-2 weeks for work to be completed - so after a month and asking for an update with no communication - that's just normal business as usual as well. You're a company that deals with repair work of luxury goods- communication is key. It's a pen - I can manage without it. What I distrust is this experience of sending items and hundreds of dollars with no communication or updates after waiting over a month. I sent you 3 items - only 1 item were we waiting on a part. Did you communicate that the others could be returned? Would you have just held all the items for months until they were completed and not communicated anything? My attempt to speak to the manager or owner was an effort to still have hope in your company. You see, a person may not reflect the culture or brand - they could be having a bad day or are improperly trained. But leadership lives it and drives the culture. Your response just affirms - you are driving the culture and it's unfortunate. Oh, and this generous discount you mentioned - I believe it was $25 on an order that's 25x that amount. At that point it's not the money - it's your attitude and lack of accountability.
