I was starving and didn't feel like trying to navigate federal hill at lunch hour. I was dying for a Harry's burger and remembered there is a second location. It's close to my house so off I went. My only consternation is Parking. Don't forget to feed the meter ! It's a smaller place than the fed hill one but the menu and food is the same. I had my go to bacon sliders with their special sauce. I also had cheese fries. Food is so good. Menu is mostly burgers and dogs so if you want tacos this isn't the spot for you. If your looking for a delicious burger this is the place for sure. LUNCH REVIEW Came here with a friend on the way to the Providence airport. We were meeting another friend at Brown who recommended we meet here. SETTING: it has a bar feel with wood everywhere. The downstairs area is small but the upstairs dining area is more expansive. FOOD: the first thing I noticed when I looked at the menu was that everything was so cheap! Living in Boston for over a year has made my price expectations very high. This place is known for their burgers so I asked the waitress her favorite and she recommended the pastrami burger, which coincidentally was one I had my eye on. I should have read closer but the burgers come in slider form which explains why it's on the cheaper side. The sliders (it comes with 2) were on the smaller side so I wouldn't call them "juicy" but they were very satisfying. I also ordered the sweet potato fries which were better than the burgers and I could totally eat them alone but the kryptonite aioli was a nice addition. This was my first time in Providence and I know it has more of a food scene I need to check out but if I'm ever by Brown again, I'll keep this in mind as a good, affordable go-to. read more

In two packs, or three if you want. I ordered the Fungus Among us. With cheese mushrooms and truffle aole... aoli...? Sauce. What a perfectly cooked burgers. Let me tell you. Burgers are hard to mess up. They're even harder to do right. Scrumptious perfect topping to meat to bun ratio. So good. I grabbed cheese jalapeño fries. Not bad not super special, but fries are great. I also grabbed a Soda because like I said not a drinker. All together $22. So minus the drink closer to $15. Not the cheapest, but worth it. This is probably one of the biggest let downs for me. I came here years ago and the food was amazing. After today I will not be going to this location for burgers and sandwiches. Our waitress Alyssa did not see us until after 10 minutes and the place was not busy nor hectic. When she gave us our waters, she touched our straws and placed them right on the table. When we received our food after another 30 minutes, the buffalo chicken sandwich I had ordered was extremely over cooked and dry. My boyfriends burger was burnt. Alyssa failed to ask us how our food was and after we were finished eating she just gave us our check and went to cater to other customers. I've visited to Harry's bar and burger on the recommendation of yelp for an inexpensive dinner. Their prices were very reasonable as you can get two sliders for $3.99. I do want to caution anyone that visits just to make sure that they know that everything on their menu in terms of burgers and sandwiches is actually a half size hamburger (slider). The menu isn't really that clear. Their drink prices are reasonable though they don't necessarily specify if something is on draft or in a bottle so you don't know if you're getting 12 ounces or 16 ounces. My biggest gripe with this place is they don't let you specify how much you want your sliders cooked. Typically I would request to have something medium well or well but the burgers that I received were not just pink but red inside.The haystack onions on the other hand were burned to a crisp so they disintegrated when you tried to pick them up and they didn't taste like onions. I don't know if this is an issue with their current cook or if this is par for the course with a discount slider shop. I'm giving it a two star review because the server was snarky. This place is a good to spot on my list! My first time was at the North Main St location in Providence (which was the first) and our server was one of the nicest servers I've ever had! The ambiance is your typical bar and burger joint with a flare of authenticity. The sliders were AMAZING! Just the right size - they come with two per order and you can add more if you like. But two was enough for me. The meat is cooked to perfection, very moist. The bacon crisp and the Harry's sauce is the right tang! Great spot to catch up with friends over burgers. There's seating on two floors. The second floor has a tv on one side and usually has some sort of sporting event on. The first floor has a bar area and a seating area where you can see the kitchen. Good revolving beer selection. Good sliders. Shoe string fries are a must. I reaaaaally wanted to give Harry's 4 stars, and with my first experience here I definitely would have. After my experience last week, unfortunately, I just can't. I've only been to Harry's twice, and I will say that I'm going to give it a third try to officially decide if I'll be back. My first experience was wonderful. Even though our food took forever, our server was super apologetic and even gave us complimentary dessert for waiting so long (there was a large party that had just input their order before us). The food was delicious and in my opinion, worth the wait. The perfect portions (all the burgers and sandwiches are sliders) and generous, especially with the cheese fries. My most recent experience was less than stellar. Our waitress was really nice and quick with bringing our food out. We sat at a table right across from their nearly open kitchen. I say "nearly open" because it's a tiny kitchen occupied by three cooks with a large window. You can see every move they make including touching their faces, running their fingers through their hair, and not changing their gloves. I used to work in the restaurant industry and know that open kitchen or not, all of the above actions are very unsanitary. I don't think they realized that people can see what they're doing. I also will note that I found two hairs in my food, and I said nothing even though I should have. It could've been from anything, so I didn't want to make a fuss. I have to say that I'm a little bit of a germaphobe and I hate hair, but still! I will say that Harry's has a nice drink selection and is a good place to try some different kinds of burgers and indulge in some fried-food-goodness. I've been to Harry's several times and for the most part I really do like it here with one exception, the wait time and service. Harry's seems to do something very specific that makes all the difference, from what I can tell they use a flat-top griddle (as opposed to an open fire grill) that holds all those fatty juices inside the burger for your meat loving pleasure. It tastes much like the flat-top griddled burgers of Shake Shack fame, and similarly Harry's house their patties in a soft and delicious potato bun. When I plan on writing a review then I order accordingly - order steak at a steakhouse and a burger at a burger bar. I recommend you do the same here as my one venture away from this lead me to a sub-par hot dog. I've tried the M.O.A.B., Fungus Among Us, and the Crunch Burger. Each order of burgers comes with two sliders and are well priced between $5-6 per order. They also offer half price burgers daily from 3-5pm on the dot- so if you sit down at 4:55pm but don't order until 5:01pm, you're out of luck. There are several fries that are also very tasty although I should note that the string fries can come out pretty greasy. Harry's has a small and playful atmosphere with interesting aesthetics, televisions, and an upper level of seating. I really enjoy the quiet music that appeals to multiple tastes ranging from Ray Charles, Peter Bjorn & John, and Nas. They also have a good beer selection; a normal tip off of this for me is when I see old speckled hen on tap. Yum. But...and there's always a but with three stars...the service! The staff does seem friendly and willing to help but during my last visit the food came out forty minutes after we placed our order for two burgers and a side of string fries. So after thirty minutes I asked our waitress if our order had in fact been put through and she explained that there was a large takeout order of 150 burgers which was causing the holdup and that ours would still take a few more minutes. I then asked her if she could at least bring out our order of fries which she agreed and did so five minutes later. I imagine that Harry's flat top grille isn't very big and that in order to fill an order of 150 burgers they would PROBABLY need to fill it 4-6 times. However, if a restaurant is experiencing delays I would expect them to let us know before we place our order and offer to bring out something else until our burgers were ready. This coupled with the fact that another table that was seated after us received their food first, leads me to believe that our waitress either A) put our order in late B) wasn't immediately informed of the backup in the kitchen C) wasn't thinking ahead OR D) was playing scramble with friends (which I did at the table to fill some time). I always try to give servers the benefit of the doubt but in this case the bottom line is that someone goofed. Harry, I will be back for the juicy burgers but won't come super hungry and will probably go during a game that will hold my attention until the burgers are ready. Harry's is my go-to spot for burgers in providence. The "burger" is really 2 mini burgers, which I prefer, since it's so much easier to eat that way, for ~$5. The buns are grilled, not mushy or cold, and the fillings are phenomenal. I love the M.O.A.B. (Mother of All burgers) which comes with fried onion strings, bacon, meat, lettuce and the Fungus among Us which has deliciously grilled mushrooms inside. I recommend also getting the chili fries (cheese+chili+jalapenos) as a side... perfect meal! If you have a slight sweet tooth after eating those burgers, RESIST THE TEMPTATION. We got the Irish crumb brownie bites which ended up to be a real disappointment. The brownies were slightly-cold (aka not fresh) brown bits with some chocolate whiskey sauce and not appetizing at all. Overall, love the burgers here. My favorites include the Pig Pile sliders with pulled pork, the Crunch burger, and their delightfully crunchy sweet potato fries. Obviously, with their specialties being beer and sliders that come in 2-3 burgers, I wouldn't say this is the most filling dinner spot if you're very hungry. Let me first start out by saying "They do not sell burgers. They sell sliders." Burgers are a full sandwich and sliders are really an appetizer or mini-sandwich. Next, the beef patties on the sliders are extremely thin. They are so thin that I didn't think there was any beef on one of them because there was so much other stuff. After about 20 mins of waiting, I had to get up and walk over to two workers who were talking if someone could take our order. At that, they both looked at me like I had three heads. I'd understand if it were a day where everyone was busy and they were understaffed but it looked slow and there were empty tables around so I don't understand why it took that long. The wait for food was long, and if we hadn't snagged a seat at the bar the wait for a table - or having a place to stand to wait for a table - I can't even imagine! Other reviewers mentioned sitting upstairs but I was seated downstairs. Our server came over within a minute of us being seated to take bring menus and take our drink orders. We both ordered the M.O.A.B And the salt and pepper fries. The burgers were really good, not too greasy and all of the toppings tasted very fresh. The fries were good but nothing out of the ordinary. My only complaint was that our server never came over to check on us and I had to go to the bar to get our bill.
