Either we hit this on a bad night or we just didn't get it. Regardless. Was very excited about the place and now, will never go back. You sit in the lap of the people next you. The beer is served in small, way over priced, glasses. And the service is so slow, you need to order a second as soon as the first gets there. They didn't have ice cream and didn't have chili. The pastrami burgers were underwhelming and the fries belonged in a school cafeteria. I am a regular at Harry's and I'm usually very satisfied after the meal! The service is friendly, food comes relatively quickly, and the sliders are delicious. The secret sauce is great on each burger - I e pretty much tried all of them and loved it. The burger is usually juicy, the bun is soft and chewy, secret sauce!!! Man, I have loved Harry's ever since it opened, and I've been back countless times for all sorts of occasions -- low-key lunches to boozy happy hours to casual celebrations. Harry's is great for big groups or solo diners, though I will say, you probably shouldn't bother coming here if you're not a beef eater. The sliders are really the whole point of Harry's (though the beer/booze selection is also solid). They have boozy milkshakes, which I have not personally tried but have been told are delicious, and a pretty good short list of cocktails (including, surprisingly, a pretty good Sazerac -- not typical for a casual burger bar). My favorite thing to order is the MOAB (mother of all burgers, which has terrific toppings) and the sweet potato fries, which come with an amazing jalapeno aioli. The onion strings and regular fries are also pretty good, but I'm a sweet potato fry fiend so I have to get them. The sliders are the perfect thickness, with a good crust and juiciness. They use some good sweet buns, too, and the sliders are composed with a good balance of ingredients. I've tried all the desserts, and I really like the crack. I like to come for the happy hour, 3-5PM, when burgers are half price. There's an upstairs dining area if you're with a larger group. The decor is casual with some quirk -- I really find the bathroom decor pretty fun. I've found the service generally fast and attentive, though servers can seem a little harried during rush times. Any time that I've had a problem with my order (incorrect ingredients or a hair in my food... I forgive them), it's been corrected with grace. This pub is one of my favorite places in Providence. I like the location on N Main St best, although I've tried other locations as well. It is pretty tiny inside but if you time it right you can miss the wait or order a drink while waiting for a table. The sliders are amazing. 2 is usually enough to fill me because they put so many ingredients on top, and I'll share a hay stack (so good). The hay stack is just really thin onion rings. My favorite sliders are the crunch and the fungus amungus. They are all so good though! Each order of sliders comes with 2 but you should know you can't mix and match different kinds. They also have a large selection of drinks and beers. If you're not too full from the sliders, I recommend a boozy milk shake. read more

So I came here for the first time after passing it a ton of time prior and boy I was not disappointed! The food was great, the service was great, and the vast beer selection was great. The burgers are to sliders, but that was plenty of food don't be fooled by the term slider this is no white castle burger. In addition fries were good too, the sweet potatoes fries came with this spicy green sauce which was pretty good. I loved the atmosphere and decor, I was a tiny bit tacky but in a good way. They also had a great variety of beers, and they even offered "Das Boot"! All in all, this place is def worth checking out for a great burger, I was not disappointed with my stop here and I am sure you won't be either. Came here for the first time this past Sunday. I've heard of them before but they always slipped my mind, till i was pleasantly surprised by my friends and just taking me here. There is a downstairs and upstairs outdoor seating. its not the biggest of places but it was fine with us. we were seated and greeted right away. the menu is simple and easy to read. doesn't take you 15 minutes to look through it. they're known for their burgers but you have to know they're sliders. you get two per order. the burgers don't come with sides. but before you judge the sliders are like 4 bucks and depending on what kind of fries you get your meal still comes out to around 7-8 bucks or so same price you'd end up paying anyways. but with this you could skip the fries and just chomp on sliders. BTW their hot-dogs are on steroids, my buddy got it and we were all thinking just a regular dog, but no.. those things weight train HEAVY. I got the turkey burger with sweet potato fries. I loved the burgers you can tell they are hand made very flavorful fresh ingredients. The sweet potato fries were awesome, cut in house and hand battered absolutely one of the best I've had and it comes with this Kryptonite Sauce that brought me to my knees and I'm not even from Krypton.. I honestly have no idea whats it in and its green, but its freaken delicious. One of my favorite places in Rhode Island. Their burgers and sliders are perfect-- as are their cheese fries. Good place to go for a casual dining experience. I love their beers and cocktails. Best sliders in town. The patties are juicy and delicious, they keep it simple with toppings and the buns are fresh. Add in some fries or onion straws and a milkshake or a cold beer, and you've got one hell of a meal. The burgers are small enough that you can get just two and not feel like you're throwing away your last 5 workouts. The one downside is the place is fairly small and it gets crowded quickly, the service is just okay, and it can get a little dirty when they're having a rush. But the food is so good I can look the other way... If you want a cleaner, less mobbed, more customer-friendly atmosphere, head to their second location on federal hill, sit at the bar where the chairs are more comfy and you'll get your burgers faster. read more

I had heard Harry's Bar & Burger was a must-visit in Providence, and it didn't disappoint although I must say it wasn't the best burgers I've ever had either. I like the concept though. The burgers come with 2 sliders per order, so keep in mind, they're not your typical standard size and if you're really hungry, you should definitely order more! Which is where the fun part comes in. A problem I have run into in the past specifically at burger joints is so many of them sound good to me, so I appreciate the concept of being able to try multiple kinds of burgers. My boyfriend and I decided to try the MOAB (Mother of All Burgers), Fungus Among Us, and the Pastrami Burger. The meat is indeed tender and juicy, but the burgers are also a bit greasier than I prefer. I know burgers are supposed to be, but there's still a limit IMO. My favorite was definitely the Fungus Among Us (holla to all my mushroom lovers out there), and even if you're not a fan of mushrooms, I still think the flavor is subtle enough to please everyone. My least favorite was surprisingly the MOAB, which came with cheese, bacon, portabello mushroom, and fried onion strings. It just didn't hold together well, and was difficult to eat. Plus, there wasn't anything distinctive about the flavor profile. We also ordered the salt and pepper fries, which were a bit disappointing unless you're a fan of small, thin fries. They were fairly underseasoned as well. Overall, I like the concept of being able to try different kinds of burgers, but I don't think I would describe this place as a "must-try." I've been to Harry's a handful of times, have always sat at the bar and have always left happy and full. I've seen a lot of complaints about the service, but every time I've been there the folks behind the bar have been nice and attentive. My glass has never been empty for long! They offer half price sliders between 3-5 which is a plus. The tap beer selection is small but they rotate some pretty decent brews, plus always have a cask offering. The sliders come in pairs of two and none come with fries, but that's fine by us. The Pastrami Burger is absolutely amazing and generally we'll split an order of sweet potato fries which, for us, is more than enough. read more

Can you ever go wrong with Harry's? Sure, this location is a tight squeeze and during peak hours, it's hard to get a seat even for the smallest of groups. Still, I have never been to a Harry's that disappointed me. They have a large selection of beer and all of them are pretty affordable. (Don't look at me like that -- I am 21 you know!!!) Their burgers are small but filling and very, very tasty. It's the simple things in life, ya know?! I love the sweet-bread buns. It's probably my favorite part of the burger. This was my family's first time visiting Harry's Bar & Burger and it was a pretty good experience overall. The restaurant is quite small and seating is very close. It was a clean environment and there is a nice view of the kitchen. The milkshakes were delicious and can be made with or without alcohol. The food was very good and every burger is served as two sliders so if you are someone who has a big appetite like my stepdad and brother, you may consider upgrading to three sliders.
