It's funny that the owners market this as a Manhattan-style bar since it sure looks like an Irish pub to me albeit a bit more polished and urban than the usual neighborhood watering hole. Truth be told, I had very low expectations on what kind of lunch I would get here. It was on a main pedestrian thoroughfare right off Grafton Street next to the mammoth-for-no-reason Stephens Green Shopping Centre. Most of the more interesting eateries in the immediate area were closed until dinner, so I decided to give it a shot despite the lackluster Yelp reviews I read on the app. I had my immediate doubts when a waitress at the doorway was speaking in her native tongue to a persistent male friend of hers and consequently ignored seating me. Being the truly passive-aggressive American that I am, I just gave her a case of small-mouth, walked in with self-assurance and sat myself at a bulky table near the bar. The express lunch menu is small but serviceable, and while I would have ordered a chicken Caesar salad in a similar setting back home, I went for the € 7.50 Traditional Homemade Irish Stew since I don't think I've ever had one before. Delicious and much lighter than I expected, soupy in fact, but I preferred it that way since it was really the chunks of tender lamb that I was after on that brisk day in Dublin. There was a big scoop of spring onion mash on top that proved to be rib-sticking good (see photo). Unlike several other Yelpers, other than the first waitress, I found the service extremely cordial and attentive like you hope Irish people will be. Good to know that true, lighter-fare dining options are available in the tourist zone. By the way, their restrooms are quite clean, a blessing after a long ride on the Luas Green Line. FOOD - 4 stars...a fine, lighter-than-expected Irish stew to satisfy your Gaelic gastronomic needs AMBIANCE - 3 stars...a lot of wood and cocktails SERVICE - 4 stars...sharp wait staff once you sit down TOTAL - 4 stars...Harry is a good guy

OK, so this place belongs in a different era. The Celtic Tiger era..... The moment you walk into a bar and are greeted by a hostess (a former Apprentice candidate) you know this place is going to be attracting all kinds of a-holes. We were with a work group and had booked a couple of booths for the night. After a little slip up on whether our booking actually existed. (apparently it didn't so they had to "make room") we were seated and given drinks menu's. Our hostess came over and was terribly pleasant and a lovely girl but is a hostess necessary? Of course not. But if the hostess had actually been serving our drink for the night I would probably be writing an amazing review.... But alas all of the waiting staff were painfully slow, rude and not too bright. The service really did prompt a bad review. There were so many waiting staff and still service was so slow and terribly disorganised. The staff are clearly not trained or managed correctly. We ordered a platter of food for the table. At €25 this was a complete and utter rip off for what you got. Very small platter and the only good thing on it was the homemade chips. They were amazing (but with the size of the platter we all got 2 chips each!). I would order just a bowl of them for myself if I ever went back here for some reason. There was a bout 8 of us and we needed to order another platter. After we had eaten the 2nd platter another hostess/manager came over and asked us if we wanted a complimentary platter of food. We explained that we had already ordered 2 platters and we did not want another but could they take one off our bill as it was literally minutes since we ordered the 2nd platter. She refused to do it. So we then said if it's free we will take it. We were then charged for the 3rd platter and had to argue to get this off the bill. The other hostess/manager also asked us to move booths at one stage. For no apparent reason really. There was also a house magician. Nice guy, terribly cute but again not necessary and not what we wanted either but didn't want to say no in case it came across as rude. Some of us were drinking cocktails and they were OK. At €10 each we expected them to be consistent but they were not. Towards the end of the night as it got busier the cocktails became desperately mediocre.... The waiting staff constantly forgot part of our drinks orders and we then felt the need to go through our bill with a fine tooth comb and there were (surprise, surprise) errors on it. There was also a toilet attendant who was blocking the hand dryer and whilst you were washing your hands he was lingering behind you with the blue paper towel stuff. I left with wet hands every time as I just did not want to be dealing with that kind of nonsense. I would not bother coming back. We had a great time because of the crowd of work friends I was with but certainly not because of where we were. If I was with one or two people I probably would have left after the first drink. On the other hand if you enjoy being surrounded by unnecessary pretence also seen at the likes of the Lost Society then you will probably love it.

€10 for mains which to me is always great! I got the beef and Guinness pie with a side of mash, very tasty and I gobbled it up in no time like a pure savage, thankfully I had the politeness to use my cutlery. The server was fantastic, so friendly and when she forgot to ask whether I wanted vodka or gin in my martini she was very apologetic. The martini was good. My dinner date had a mojito and then a strawberry one which looked rather epic to me and the gasps of taste pleasure equals it was great! For dessert I had a simple selection of ice-cream. Very much a pub grub fair in an impressive setting. I love the boothes, a great place to come with a gang of folks and while the night away on cocktails. We got a round of goodbyes like royalty from all the staff as we left... I like that!

Harry's has one of the nicest cocktail menus around the city, with a wide range of varied drinks from classic cocktails to original creations. I've only been in there a few times; once for food and couple more times for some after dinner cocktails. All their drinks are made with the best spirits and with fresh ingredients. I've yet to see what the place is like on a busy weekend but considering the decent cocktail menuand regular mix and match promos on bottles of beer, this place seems like a good place to start your night. It reminds me of a swanky New York cocktail bar; lots of booths bartenders dressed in waistcoats and of course fantastic drinks. The music usually pretty funky; I think I've heard James Brown and that kind of stuff playing nearly every night I've been in there. In my few trips there I have managed to make my way through a decent portion of the cocktail menu. They do great Whiskey Sours and a very refreshing Dark & Stormy but the best cocktail they have by far is the Ferrero Rocher. It tastes just like its namesake only in alcoholic liquid form!

Lovely staff, wonderful salad, and quiet place to enjoy a beer and food. The lighting is a bit dim, they were out of the two soups I'd wanted early in the day, but everything else was tip top!

I've been here a few more times since my last review and I'm adding on a star. Granted, I usually go in late afternoon/early evening so it's not jammers and that's the way I like it. The cocktails are excellent and the service each time I've been in there has been good. Food's not bad either. Over all, I'm a fan!

Their cocktails are second to none! If you're looking for a unique and original cocktail, this is the place! Most cocktails cost €10-12, loved the black forest gateau one! Definitely worth the money as proper ingredients used. Originally got the grabone.ie deal but have returned a few times since. Staff are all friendly, fun to watch the cocktail specialists make the cocktails too!

    Great cocktails!

Love the decor, the booths are great for a group of friends, great cocktails, OK food but SHOCKING service. Waited over 45mins for my main after having reminded a waiter twice. He kept forgetting our drinks, forgot to clear our table after our starter and to be honest I don't blame him as they were so under staffed and he was working well pasted his shift. We finally got out main at 10:20. At this time the DJ had started. Trying to enjoy a meal with Will Smith's Tic Tic Boom song isn't exactly what I had in mind for the evening. Al in all, I'd go back for drinks but wouldn't order food again.

just a few examples of what's on offer ;)

Harry's on the Green is the perfect location for after work drinks, we booked in for a cocktail making class just after 5. We had to wait almost an hour till our class was to start which was fine but not really communicated to us well. Once we started our class it was great fun. Our barmen Ben and Ryan kept the mood lively and were able to adjust the cocktails to be non alcoholic for one of our team who wasn't drinking. These boys know their stuff and are able to adapt a cocktail according to your preferences. Overall I think the cocktail classes are good value for money, if you've more than 5 people I'd suggest ordering an extra platter of food (one is included in the price) although the platters are far from healthy it was needed after well into our 2nd cocktail. Only downfalls are.. the bar is very dark and after a certain hour the music gets bumped up to an eardrum bursting level, ok.. maybe I'm just getting old and like to chat to the people I'm with. But not only was the music loud but awful so we finished another cocktail (they're addictive I tell ya) before moving on. Thanks to the Boys at the Bar for making our night fun and DJ.. seriously sort that music out!

    Pornstar martini. Absolutely beautiful!!

I really liked Harry's on the Green. However it is incredibly expensive! On the positive side the staff are super friendly telling us that there is 2 for 1 Thursday between certain times and being really smiley and nice! Along with this was the outstanding drinks which tasted delicious and were packed with alcohol! However the price is a massive deterrent. €12 for a cocktail is just too much to be spent on a regular occasion however if you've got money to spend and want a fancy cocktail evening out with some friends try this place it's actually great if you can afford it!!

Tucked down Dame Court just off Dame Street, The Stag's Head is one of those rare pubs that feels genuinely historic rather than designed to look old. The building dates to the late 1800s, and the interior retains the ornate features of a classic Victorian "gin palace"--rich carved wood, stained glass, brass rails, and a warm, glowing bar that feels wonderfully preserved. We stopped in around 4:30 pm, which turned out to be a perfect time to visit. There were other patrons enjoying drinks and food, but the atmosphere was calm and relaxed rather than loud or rowdy. It felt like the kind of place where locals drop in for a quiet pint on their way home from work before the evening crowd arrives. The staff were excellent--friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. The food was very good (we failed to take photos because we were too busy enjoying it). As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to see the Impossible burger front and center on their menu; it was deliciously prepared with guacamole on a brioche bun, and not an afterthought on the menu. My companions both chose the Irish Beef Burger, and said it was excellent. One thing to know: this is a traditional Victorian pub, so cocktails aren't really part of the program. Expect beer, wine, or spirits rather than mixed drinks. In a place like this, that actually feels exactly right. Other pubs do serve mixed drinks. Between the history, the ambience, the quality of the food, and the wonderful staff, The Stag's Head is the kind of place that makes you feel like you've experienced a real piece of Dublin.

They are situated in the base of a sister restaurant, so from the main entrance the only give away is the neon "shhh" sign that sits over the stairway. Once at the base of the stairs an unassuming bookcase/shelf appears. This honestly got us, as we had no clue this was the entrance at first. We wandered around and into the bathrooms expecting some cool bathroom stall entrance. It wasn't until someone came out from behind the bookcase that we figured it out! We did let the "door" close and played with the art on the wall, including the bronze pig head, which turned out to be the hidden lever! Legit already wowed before entering! Upon entry, you are legit transported into a small speakeasy with a few high tops, a cozy bar and a small dining room beyond the second archway. The walls are stone, the lighting is dim and moody, the woods are heavy, and the vibes are immaculate! We sampled a few house-made cocktails, got an appetizer and a few main dishes. Spent a total of close to 2 hours, which is standard and actually timed. Which makes sense and I like, it keeps things moving, on time and allows plenty of time to soak it all in! The Jolly Roger and Espresso Martini were my cocktails for the night. There was a clear theme with both, as stout and espresso were highlights in both. For the app, we went with the fritto misto, which is a combination of fried cheese and veggies. Our mains were both pasta dishes. They were light and simple, yet complex and robust. They were tasty and impressive! Service was stellar from entry to exit. The host's, bartenders and our server were all top notch, friendly, helpful and a joy to interact with! Oh, I do highly recommend reservations! They are a small and very in demand spot, so trying to walk-in is a bit risky. Overall, we absolutely loved our evening at The Blind Pig! Then again, at €8 a pint, and it's one of the more expensive drinks in an already expensive city ( and I did the same in 2-3 pubs), and that's fine. Doesn't matter whether you wanna have food or drink here or not, but I would definitely recommend (in capital letters), have one drink here.
