I'm from out of town and reached out to Jill to coordinate my mom's headstone. She seemed very knowledgeable and committed to our timeframe for the burial. Today I emailed to check in and received a call back from Jill that our headstone will not be delivered on time. It hadn't shipped yet. I purchased at end of April and was assured it was enough time. Today all I got were excuses. "tarrifs have made US suppliers overwhelmed", "the owner is pulling his hair out", "you had a special order so they probably did all the easy stones first", and "the quarry cutters are out for the rest of the week so it would be a miracle if we got it by the 12th". We are extremely disappointed that no one was monitoring shipping dates through the last three months to alert us of any potential issues nor was I ever told mine was a "special size". I was assured the stone would be in place for our mom's burial. Now my family will never see her headstone in person since we live in CA. They have robbed us of proper ceremony for our mom. They had an obligation to be upfront on delivery before they took our money. If they had I could've gone elsewhere. The lack luster attitude is unacceptable. There was no attempt to make things right, we're just supposed to accept it. I sent a review into the company tonight. I'll see if they have any response or care for the celebration they have stolen from us. I can not recommend this company unless they make it right and have our mother's headstone in time for her burial. read more

A great experience. I found the owner and staff to be loving and compassionate. They were creative and thoughtful in their suggestions in an effort to help me meet my budget limitations. We ordered our sisters' marker from Jill at Hart Monument in August of 2021. She was extremely helpful throughout the process of designing the marker and we are very pleased with the result. I came to hart monuments to get an idea of prices and what is included in the cost of the tombstone. I walked in and didn't even get a "hello"from the owner or a "how can I help you". Any question that I asked was answered very rudely as if I should know the answer. I'm sorry but I'm not in the tombstone business and would like to know what I'm paying for if I'm spending a couple thousand dollars. I will never step in his store again and will be more than happy to take my business elsewhere where I will be treated with respect. read more

My experience with Hart Monument very disappointing. I ordered stone that I liked and etch picture however when stone was delivered and installed in the cemetery picture looked horrible. Face with multiple big freckles, total disgrace. I expected from business that been serving Rochester for 160 years a lot more. I should have been told that this particular stone cannot have etch portrait on it however I was told that I can do anything I want. I couldn't sleep for days after I saw that portrait on the stone. Called owner Rick who stated that mistakes happen. Per Rick they can do etch on black stone and install it. I paid another $367.50 on 2/23/19 in addition to $2975.00 that I have already paid. Now is August 2019 and I am still waiting on stone to be fixed. Received call from Hart Monument reporting that etch picture does not fit stone and they are ordering another etch picture. No one contacted me since February money collection. I just wanted reputable business to do what I paid for. Total disappointment, please go to other places that are delivering quality service. read more
