I chose Hartel thanks to a recommendation from State Farm after my car was hit in the employee parking lot at work (see attached pictures). They were easy to work with and kept me well informed throughout the estimate/repair process. They let me know of parts shipping delays promptly and set realistic expectations as to when I might expect to have my car back. Pickup upon completion was painless and the work was superb. Even the plastic rivets for the inner fender liner looked good! Hopefully this sort of accident doesn't befall my car again but if it did I would choose Hartel again without hesitation. read more

A really great body shop can be tough to find, but luckily there's this one in Yorktown. Hartel is one of the better rated shops recommended by my Insurance Company, but I had a good experience and will likely go back in the future for non-insurance related work. Really nice people, a focus on customer service, detailed estimates, really good rates for labor, and I got my car back early and looking better than before the accident. I called them and brought it back for something small a week later, and they remembered me and still did their best to take care of me even though the transaction was complete. Hartel is an excellent body shop. The team is awesome, very friendly and easy to work with. The shop is clean and organized and we felt comfortable leaving our car there. I like the fact that they kept us informed every step of the way and were honest about what needed to be done with the car and the expected time frame that it would take to fix the car. I have to say I am lucky that I have not needed the services of Hartel Auto Body very often. While on vacation 2 weeks ago my luck ran out. I backed my sturdy 1999 SUV into a tree and blew out the rear windshield and severely dented the top hatch of my vehicle. Quick internet scan and a call to a glass repair shop told me the needed parts were discontinued. With this info in mind I went to Hartels, hoping they could find some magic for me. I had previous work done by these guys and it was exemplary. Plus they are local, always like to use local businesses when possible. Rene Lemieux listened to my story and told me he does not give up easily. This was Monday. After a couple of calls he found a rear hatch assembly for me. He figured bring it in and check the condition and color and go from there. Tuesday he called to say it was there come have a look. It was a good shape but wrong color. Rene assured me they could match my faded gray- green color pretty closely. I left the vehicle, figuring if I was lucky, I'd get a call the following week. Thursday of the same week I got a call about 2 pm. Car's ready! And it was -amazing. Not only repaired better than new, but clean as a whistle too! These guys are great. Friendly, smart, skilled and fair. They tell you the real deal and then they deliver. I cannot recommend them enough. If you find yourself in a mess and need your beloved vehicle brought back to life, go to Hartels in Yorktown. And thank your lucky stars that you live nearby. read more

Not the best or the worst, a little better than average. I got a number of estimates, some were higher, some lower. Hope I never need a body shop again but if I do, I will try one of the more expensive shops. read more
