Worst take out ever!! I heard they had chicken gizzards, which is a rare menu item. I drove 36 minutes out of my way to try them. When I got back to the office, I discovered chicken tenders in the bag, and they were terrible. Without any exaggeration, I can tell you that the french fries were still cold in the center. It may be that the drive-through person couldn't hear me clearly, as the building and the infrastructure is falling to its knees. The drive thru area is worse than a down trodden inner city location. I would never recommend this location under any circumstances. read more

Good variety in their buffet. Just the chicken alone included fried, baked / rotisserie, chicken wings and chicken in Macaroni. They also had salad bar, fried fish, pudding and fruit. When I parked I should've known when I noticed how the parking lot area was all turn down and the rails to the walk way were super rusty and when we started to walk in we noticed crack floors and crack on the walls. We paid and then made our way to the buffet and started picking our favorites and sat down to enjoy our meal, we were devastated. We had drove an hour away from our nearest hartz chicken in Cleveland to try Conroe hartz chicken. We were disappointed at the awful food preparation and the owner/ manager was being rude after I asked for my refund and told me to call corporate knowing it's a franchisee corporate can't do anything?! I'm concerned about the health issues she could be causing to people and the manager never returned my money after refusing to pay for food that taste like days old and chicken all brown looking... For a while now, this place at 703 W. Davis in Conroe, TX, has been going downhill. At first, when I drove by, I thought it was closed. There were no lights on and when I pulled around to order, the sign wasn't there to tell me the prices on the orders. It was totally black, so I didn't know what to order. No one ever came up on the speaker, so I pulled around to order and see if they were open. There was a sign with the food and the prices there, but I did not call in the order because no one came to the speaker. When I got home, the food was horrible. The chicken was greasy and over cooked, the orka was horrible and not cooked well and the rolls (which I have loved for years) tasted sour. They were awful. The last time I spoke with the manager, she acted like I was crazy and said the food was fine. Dirty and nasty on the outside. Can't imagine what the inside looked like. I will never go there again. I gave it two times, but there won't be a third. Kids working there don't know what is going on either. Stay away!!! read more

I love fried chicken and so I come to a place where I can select the pieces I want and eat as many of them as I so choose. Well, whenever I come to this location the pieces are limited and few. There might be one leg out there, no wings and plenty of thighs and a line of people looking to get some chicken. My last visit was yesterday for lunch and there were only 6 pieces of chicken on the buffet line and it didn't seem that they were going to bring any more out anytime soon. I took the only leg out there and it was dry as a bone, no pun intended. What a disappointment. I can say that I do enjoy the stewed okra, so I got plenty of that. The cleanliness is something lacking, but I did see a young lady trying to wipe down some of the tables. Hopefully the next time I decide to give this location a try, I might get a better choice of chicken pieces. read more

I made it in the drive thru at 823, the site and sign at the store says they close at 9. It was one car at the window and I was the only car at the speaker. I waited there until 830 and no one ever came so I drove to the window. I could see the people in there so I waited a sec still no one came so I blew my horn still didn't come. My friend said she made it about 815 one night and same thing occurred. Guess when it close to closing time they pretend not to hear customer smh. This place has went down a lot, everyone was bragging about a new manager so my kids & I went to try it again after being disappointed to many times and the same thing happen again disappointed, cold food, not enough chicken options, horrible salad and desert bar and not to clean. This place needs to be remodeled and a brands new management and staff need to come in. We've been driving to spring to go to that one for years now because it's so much better. Tonight I needed only mash potatoes because I had oral surgery this am & that's all I can eat & couldn't even get that. I just get their gizzards & livers to go. They are cooked fresh have always been very good. Only minor complaint is that they do not take phone orders. They said too many would order & not pick up. It actually only takes 7-8 minutes so not a deal breaker. read more

My family and I ate here a few weeks ago. The buffet was nearly empty of chicken, no wings, everything they had left tasted like it had been cooked the day before. The trash cans were all full so just throwing your trash away was a ridiculous ordeal. I contacted Hartz Corp office and was told this location was franchised out and they would pass my concern along to the owner but they could not do anything about the $50 we wasted. They care so much about customer service they did not even offer a coupon much less any compensation for the terrible service and food. read more

I called this restaurant 5 times today, 5/25/19. They never answered. I drove up there and placed an order to go. I ordered chicken strips made fresh. I was surprised when I returned to work and found that they did not cook them fresh. Why would a cook not do what a customer asked for? Did this cook think I wouldn't find out? DO NOT EAT HERE! You will be sick. They knowingly or unknowingly have the workers children all over the buffet line. Mixing spoons, sneezing and touching the food with their hands and then licking their fingers. The tables and chairs were filthy. They offered to make us fresh tenders but came out slimy we had no choice but to spit them out to avoid food poisoning. We left our food on the tables because we couldn't throw it way because the trash cans were full to the max. We walked out after we tried to speak to an adult with no answer. Please don't eat here to avoid possible food poising. These kids were clearly being babysat at the restaurant which I understand something may have happen but they were all over the buffet line with no supervision. They kept over filling the drinks and made a mess every time their cup over flowed. Corporate doesn't care because they said it's a franchise. My concern is the health of the community! This is one of the best buffets in Conroe as far as im concerned . Every time we go the guy behind the counter makes sure we get what ever we need or want the only thing that I don't like is the paper trays and bowls other than that great food at good price! read more

Although I was the only car at the drive thru window, after placing my order I waited 10 minutes. I ordered the 6 piece thighs and legs for my husband. He rated the chicken at a 4 out of 10. Fries were ok. However, my mistake was ordering fish at a chicken restaurant. Whatever I was served as fish, was unlike ANY fish I have EVER had, anywhere! I had two "planks" and do not know what was in all that breading. It was brown and mushy and did not even smell fishy. It was AWFUL! I took one bite and I am still hoping I don't come down with something. Needless to say, if we want chicken or fish, we will go elsewhere. read more

One of the worse buffets ever. Almost noon and still trays not full. Almost never got out the unsweetened tea. Looks like food left over from the past day. All the food was cold, steam table not working. Just hope we don't get something in the gut I really don't need. Sorry I stopped down there to eat. Also use the Hartz in Huntsville, never had a problem, always good fresh food, count on it. If you are going to try a Hartz, travel another 30 miles to a good one. Thanks for listening.
