By the time he made it home (less than 2 miles), everything was still hot, fresh, and exactly how we ordered it--which is no small thing in this house because every single one of us had some kind of "take this off, add this, don't even think about that" request. And they nailed every single one perfectly. Braeden went with the Giant Burger (their biggest one), and even he said it was enough food--which says everything. Jason got the bacon version of that same burger, and it disappeared fast enough that I didn't even need to ask how it was. Bri had the kids cheeseburger with pickles, and I kept mine simple with just meat, cheese, and mayo, and the flavor across the board was the real standout--juicy, satisfying, and the kind of burger that makes you pause mid-bite because it's just that good. What a gem! It's an old fashioned burger stand that's unpretentious and has that old school vibe without trying to feel touristy. As I sat there waiting for my burger I almost expected Marty McFly to drive up in his DeLorean. Decided to get the big boy because hey, I'm a big boy. Even though it's on a ciabatta bun (which was the one thing that made me hesitant to order it), the bun was really soft and warm. And the Jalapeños gave it a nice kick. Highly disappointed. I spent around 60.00 and ending up throwing everything away. The two burgers were dry, burnt and flavorless. I've heard good things about The Burger Boy. I decided to give them a try, and drove out to see an old burger joint that could use a touch of magic. I'd definitely had the hole in the wall charm. I ate inside, and noticed it could have been cleaner. There are hand written signs decorating quite a bit of the place, and specials were all around. I ordered the chicken fried steak. I wish I had ordered a burger. The fact is, I'm spoiled. I've had chicken fried steak all over the place. This chicken fried steak was a little tough. The gravy was good, as were the mashed potatoes. But the burger was lacking flavor. The fries were your run of the mill fries. Not bad, just fries. Can't really say that anything really stood out to me. It was ok. My family and I got burgers. The burgers were ok. We probably should have done like the others in the store and got something else. The chili tater tots looked good. We asked what kind of catfish did they serve but the cashier didn't know so she asked the cook. The cooked looked at us in disgust and just said it was catfish.
