    Chicken strips and okra

Don't recommend the okra. It looks burnt. Last time it wasn't as overdone but very salty. This time it is way overdone. Chicken strips are good.

Food is on point as is the service. Dining area and buffet are clean and well appointed.

She was quick with our drinks and let us look at the menu for a few more minutes. Mom had the Green Tomato BLT, the Missus had the club sammich. But enough about their meals ... I want to review my meal. Their menu lists that the burger is on a brioche bun ... check that one off of the item list. A hearty patty is also placed inside of the bun and along with it are pickles, lettuce, onion and tomato. Check and double Check. Mayo is slathered on the buns, at just the right amounts that make it taste good, but not so much that it slides the innards of the burger all over the place making the chomping experience mushy. Flavors were good, I had just hoped the patty fit the bun a little better. The ratio was a bit more bun sided than oatty sided. My fries, crinkle cut, were seasoned well. Well enough that no ketchup was needed to dip them into for additional flavor. I would have liked a bit more crispiness from a double fry, but these were toothy enough to get a decent mouth feel. The meal for the three of is was about 47.00, so inflation has also hit my hometown dining places as bad as they have hit my current home near The Woodlands. Will i return to eat there the next time I visit Mom? If she wants to go, then yes, yes I would. I would also hit it alone just for their chicken fried steak or chicken. Ciao, Darrell

A large, soft, salty pretzel and creamy, decadent dip made this app a 10/10. Then we tried a couple of cups of gumbo which had the best roux I have ever tasted... Another 10!!! I could just order a pretzel and a bowl of gumbo and be completely satisfied with my meal here. For our mains we got the sticky chicken and fried catfish. Sticky chicken was a little sweet for my taste 7/10 and the catfish was perfect, another 10/10. The sides were good but the jalapeno blueberry coleslaw stole the show. If you're ever in the area this restaurant is a must try! They'll be moving to a new location soon and I hope it has the same cozy feel as this original location.

A small one crawling on the wall near our table and someone from my party saw a larger one crawling near the kitchen. And boy was it stuffy in there. I asked our waitress if she could move a floor fan near for some relief and to detour the gnats, she said she go ask but she never came back and when she did she completely forgot my request. We weren't seated in the greater eating area where it was cooler and maybe where the gnats were less of a bother. The food was delicious and homemade, you can tell it was made with high quality ingredients and that Southern skill that you can only get from helping Grandma in the kitchen. BUT the roaches made us lose our appetite. Such a shame. It seemed like the building went down. They don't seem to put as much effort into the condition of that place as they do the food. Dusty ceiling fans and crummy floors. I appreciate the homey vibe but it looked really junky, more stuff piled in unoccupied corners as before. I gave a lot of things the side eye, I mean it there has to be maintained asthetic. They charged an 18% gratuity on my tab for a party of 8 but I arrived with 4 people, the other 4 had already been there, paid and was almost done with their meal. Then of course the cashier/waitress still mentioned an additional, optional tip. I didn't think that was fair. At the end of it all she wasn't the best waitress.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food came out quick. A manager walked around asking how our dining experience was and even bused our plates For those that haven't been to a CSC, they specialize in chicken salad. There are several different chicken salads to choose from. There's classic, fruitier, more savory, spicier, and seasonal options. There's also sides you can choose from. If you're on the go you can quickly purchase a pre-made meal from a refrigerated section near checkout Some tips: Instead of a side you can get an extra scoop of chicken salad. If you're trying to avoid carbs you can just get the scoops with crackers. Also, if you're trying to join their rewards program you can get points for your order, and on your birthday you get a free meal Everything tasted great, and Im not even the biggest chicken salad fan. I really like the little iced cookie you get with your meal Cheers!!
