Ok so we didn't like it. Described as "if you like Cane's you will love this." We like Cane's and did not like this. Here's why: Two combos, some individual items, $48. Mild sliders: large size, generous portion, tenders are wet with an oil and arguably not done-wasn't to me, they said it was. I did not like the consistency of the exterior or thick wet breading or the slimy wet gristle down the center in the one bite I took. Was replaced with a plain one I took to go. Have not tried that one. Kale salad: on the side, and stayed there, didn't like it. Mac and cheese: wish we never ordered it, bland and does not appear homemade or even high quality pre-made. Think Kraft with a paprika color. And Kraft being better. No crispy cheese topping just creamy skillet mac. Oreo shake: priced gimmicky in a tricky way and says $3.99/4.99 and we didn't get it with our order. Went back for it and got vanilla. Went back again for chocolate that we ordered. It's not exactly chocolate. It's vanilla with chocolate syrup not evenly mixed with Oreos on top for a $2 upcharge. Making it $6.99. We were allowed to keep both. Fries: good but lukewarm Verdict: we tried it, was not for us. Staff was nice, place was clean and sadly next to options I wished we'd tried instead because I'm still hungry. Service: cool front office staff for a first time visit. They actually navigate things for you as a first timer. That's so cool. Generous with sauce but should not be compared to canes or anyone's. We tried it, we don't and won't crave it. Mother son Valentine's Day in the area running errands. I think the kid was disappointed. We brought most of it home and nobody wants it for leftovers. My friend and I went here on a weekday night. The inside was beautifully decorated with red colors and graffiti painting. The staff was friendly as well! I decided for the Tender Box which came with 2 tenders, 2 slices of white bread, pickles and fries. I went for medium heat level. The tenders were not like the flaky crust like Popeyes. The seasonings were very strong but yet bland without much heat. It tasted more like it was covered in spices than flavors. The spiciness level were like a 2/10. The fries were seasoned well and freshly cooked. The sauce that came with it also lacked a bit of flavor. It definitely does not taste like the Cane's sauce. It if did I'd say a very watered down version of it. It wasn't terrible but I think the meal would have enhanced a lot with the right sauce. The bread was just that. White bread. Not toasted. Sort of like when you order BBQ and it comes with plain white bread. I did take a couple bites out of it to help cleanse my pallets of the chicken. My friend ordered regular loaded fries. It came with chicken bites (like nuggets), with coleslaw and dressing on top. I think this dish was better made because it had a contrast of sweet and sourness from the coleslaw that balances out the saltiness of the chicken and fries. The ambiance and staffs were amazing, but the food itself lacked what I had expected. The chicken should have been the star of my expectations, but unfortunately it was missing something yet the dry seasonings overwhelmed my taste to where I could sometimes taste bitterness. Dave's is awesome!! Great place to have a quick lunch or order catering for a large staff. Their sandwiches with the Medium to Hot spices are always a hit! Staff are always super friendly and will usually load your to go bags with a bunch of their signature sauce packets. Waited 30 minutes for a simple order (sliders/tenders), only to watch people who came in after me get their food first. When I asked about it, I was told they were working on orders ahead of mine--even though that clearly wasn't the case. Then I was told that "every order is different" and mine might take longer, which doesn't make sense given how simple it was. To make matters worse, my food had apparently been sitting in a to-go box at the counter for at least 15 minutes, so by the time I got it, it wasn't even hot. The employee who took my order also told me not to stand near the counter because it wouldn't make my food come out faster--which completely missed the point of the issue. The only positive was another staff member who apologized and actually helped locate and hand off my order. Overall, very disappointing experience. Dave's hot chicken is pretty decent. This is the second location I have been to-and the chicken and flavor is pretty consistent between the two chains I have visited. I came here for a class group dinner, and I ordered the 2 slider combo- one medium and one mild. The sliders come with a huge tender that is extremely juicy and well flavored. There are a few slices of thick juicy pickles on each slider that help to cut against the oil and heaviness of the meal. Honestly, the spice level could have been kicked up a notch, but maybe that was my fault for being afraid to go higher than a medium. The crinkle fries that pair with each meal are perfectly crisped and dip well in the signature Dave's sauce. I really like how you can also ask for extra Dave's sauce at the front and they give you this big packet of the delicious condiment. Well having tried hot chicken in Nashville, I was looking for a hot chicken fix and Dave's came up on the Yelp radar. It is located in a relatively new strip with plenty of parking. We were greeted cheerfully by January. It is a walk up counter. The menu is small but it is great that they focus on their primary item Hot Chicken. So there are strip baskets, slider strip sandwiches and fries topped with Dave's hot chicken and their signature sauce. I went with the strip combo which consisted of two enormous hot chicken strips that brought the heat. There are different heat scales and the hot was the 3rd hottest you can get. The tender is rub centric and is not saucy. It does come with 2 slices of bread and pickles. I added cheese to the crinkle cut fries. Everything was delicious! My only complaint keeping Dave's from 5 stars is you are prompted to tip at the transaction. Sorry cashiers and kitchen staff are paid by the hour and not at a waitstaff wage so they are doing their job and no tip is needed lol. Overall would I come here again? A small business who went mainstream with their generous portions and tasty grub. Get the works, add the honey and you got yourself a cheesy and sticky smile. I've always been curious about the hot chicken places but haven't been. Decided to come in for lunch today and had a great experience. The cashier (the receipt said her name was Skye) was amazingly welcoming and had really great customer service skills. Apparently I'm turning in to my parents, so I had a lot of questions and a couple of dad jokes about the spice level. She was patient and kind. And always working and moving, never staying still. On to the chicken- it was flavorful. I got a mild and medium tender but next time will get medium and hot. The spice coating was nice but not too thick. Just right. Really appreciated the sides of pickles and honey. So delish. I didn't really like the Dave sauce much but did have some. Not Dave's fault, I'm just not that into mayo sauces.
