I was excited to see a new ramen shop open up in Layton, since this quickly became one of my favorite foods after living in Japan for several years. I finally got to try Haru Ramen for lunch the other day, and was pleasantly surprised. They have a pretty full menu of ramen options, including miso ramen and chicken broth ramen. They also have a long list of addons, and I added corn kernels and fresh garlic to my miso ramen. (The garlic is super fresh, they brought cloves to us with a garlic press.) The serving size was a little large, I could have done with a smaller bowl, but the flavor was fantastic. The eggs did look a little rough as another reviewer mentioned, but tasted amazing. I also had the edamame, and was happy it was softer and MUCH less salty than I've had it at other restaurants. There was a light crowd during our lunch, but the staff was attentive and checked on us fairly often. I'll be going back to try the chicken broth ramen soon! read more

If you are south of Ogden (Hanamaru) and north of Salt Lake (JINYA and others) Haru is a pretty good option. Davis county is has always been a bit of a gastronomic wasteland so its nice to have a couple of good options. So if its Ramen and you're in Davis Co, Haru is your best option, and the miso is the best choice on the menu. Enjoy! read more

Had miso ramen and seafood ramen. Also tempura shrimp and pork gyoza for appetizers. Nothing was very good. Ramen had hardly any flavor. When I went to add sriracha, the bottle cap was caked with dried sauce and after cleaning it off, clear liquid squirted into my ramen. Yuck. Pork in the miso soup was basically a slab of smelly fat. Pretty bad. The shrimp was likely from a cheap bag of frozen breaded "seafood." The gyoza was decent. Not sure why I'm even giving this place 2 stars. Happy Valentine's Day my eye. read more

Went here hoping to live the ramen noodles. Perhaps we just discovered that we are more pho people than ramen people. Service was wonderful and the restaurant was clean. I ordered the chicken ramen and my friend ordered the curry ramen. Flavor in hers was better. Enjoyed the wings for an appetizer. I'd be willing to go back if someone pointed me to better menu options but I wasn't overall impressed with the ramen itself. So this gets 3 stars. read more

I tried here about a month ago (finally just remembered my log in info) when I went it was empty that's usually the first sign I have that means is bad...let me tell you though the younger girl who works there is awesome she's really attentive didn't over crowd me the ramen I got was ok but oh man....the takoyaki fresh hot so flavorful and amazing. I was excited to try this place. I ordered the Curry Katsu Chicken. When it came, the first bite I took tasted like I was eating a salt cube. I took a few more bites but the amount of salt that was put into this dish was too much to handle. I had several people, who were with my party, try the dish, as well. They were shocked how salty it tasted, too. Service was slow. The dining room had food on the floor and tables were not cleaned thoroughly. My best friend and I went here for the first time shortly after it opened. We were excited because it was the first Ramen house close to us! After the first time, we kept coming back because of the great service, and amazing food. I personally recommend the cream cheese wontons with the white sauce, and Tonkatsu Ramen, which is basically what we order every time we go. My husband likes the Kurai Ramen, but it's a bit on the spicy side. I plan to keep coming here! read more

Food was really good. Very flavorful. Seemed very authentic, but I don't have anything to compare it to personally. Be aware of Friday nights! They drop off bus loads of tourists to eat. There were at least 3 while we're were there. Hence why I think it's authentic. Service was lacking due to how busy they were. It won't stop us from coming back, just maybe not on a Friday night. I had the vegetable udon and the noodles with thick soft and fresh! Hubz had the beef ramen. The beef was beyond tender and the broth so flavorful. I have had many Ramen in my life from Japan to Singapore to many top ramen places in NYC, LA, and Oregon.... I don't think this ramen is a legit as the ramen (Karai which is spicy) as the ingredients and taste were different than many original Japanese owner/chef ramen-ya.... Excellent Ramen!!! I had the Tonkatsu ramen. Creamy pork broth with quality ingredients. I liked that I was able to add broccoli, corn, and mushrooms to it for only 50 cents. The goyza were flavorful with a very tasty dipping sauce unlike any I have ever tasted. We are so happy there is now a ramen place up by us! We will be back for sure. read more

Good ramen place in clearfield. This was the first place we ate at after getting here. We enjoyed it. My husband has spent some time in Japan so we're always on the lookout for good udon or ramen. He was slightly disappointed to see that the udon here is not in a broth but a noodle dish. We both ended up trying a bowl of ramen. I got the miso and he got the curry. Both were good. Date night with the wife turned into a Restaurant Hell. It was a busy night, but the staff was frustrated and overwhelmed. We ordered some sides that came out cold and flavorless. My chicken fried rice was extremly greasy and had a odd spoiled flavor probably deriving from the canned chicken. Our chicken ramen was cold amd flavorless with am odd flavor from the chicken. After my wife didn't finish her plate we were asked multiple times if we didn't likebthe food and received a hostile response and negative demeanor. After being thrown our receipt we had enough. First of all, let me start by saying I have never been to Japan, have a relative in Japan, or consider myself all knowledgeable of the orient. I have watched Bruce Lee movies and loved the Kung Foo Panda series - very funny :). I also like good food. Not sure why the average ratings but this was delicious. Glad we tried it for ourselves. We started with the pork gyoza app which were great. My wife had the Tonkotsu Ramen with added fresh garlic. I had the Shoyu Ramen with added garlic and fried onions. I've been coming here with a friend for lunch regularly then went a few times with my husband for dinner dates and we love it!!! There usually isn't a wait time, the staff is very friendly, the food is delicious and the restaurant looks very well put together. This place is new however that is about it. The service was slow and there were only two other tables aside from ours that were occupied. It took them 30mins to get us our appetizer (Pork Gyoza) then it took another 20mins after that to get us our Ramen. The Aji Tamago was basically a hard boiled egg cut in half and whoever peeled the egg pulled off a lot of the egg along with the shell. The broth was bland, the noodles were overcooked. The girl that took our order didn't seem to speak real good english. The pork chashu was over cooked and very chewy and had no brown edges it was white and fatty. They also only had one Sapporo and one Kirin which was kinda annoying for a Japanese restaurant. They got our order wrong and didn't fix it and did not apologize about the food taking forever. I had a lot of ramen in Japan and fell in love with it. However, it's been really hard to find decent ramen here in the states. This is definitely the best I've had!! The miso ramen is my favorite, but the shoyu and tonkotsu ramen are good also. They have yummy gyoza with what seemed like a homemade ponzu sauce. Not as good as the ramen in Japan, but definitely way way better than all the other ramen I've tried here in the US. We went with our family for dinner to Haru Ramen. The waiting staff was friendly, efficient, and quiet, and the restaurant clean and nicely decorated. The food was quickly served and very flavorful. We are vegetarians so it is not often that we find a restaurant that serves a broth based soup that has a lot of flavor, usually they throw a carrot and a piece of celery into water and hope for the best. This was a nice change of pace. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because they do not have a kids menu or a lot of options that are child friendly. read more

I loved the cool atmosphere and the friendly waitress. The food was excellent. Started out with the tempura shrimp as an appitizer. After ordering it came fairly quickly. It was perfectly cooked to a nice crispy golden brown. It came with a sauce that was just delightful. Then I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen. It came out in great time as well. The pork was very soft and tender and the broth had great flavor. The egg was cooked perfectly and the noodles had been cooked to the perfect el dente.
