I've been wanting to try this ramen spot since I moved to Salt Lake City in February, and since I'm moving in a few weeks, I finally made the time to check it out. I went with a friend and wanted to treat her to a late lunch or early dinner. She ordered one of the meat ramens and said it was the best ramen she's had in Utah so far -- she's even planning to bring her husband back. My ramen, on the other hand, was fine. I got the vegan ramen and asked for it to be made spicy. It looked spicy -- it was a deep red -- but it honestly just tasted like water and corn. Or corn water. It was very bland. Edible, but not good. I carry pepper and crushed red pepper packets with me everywhere, and even after dumping a bunch in, it still had no flavor. Also, it wasn't filling. I had to go home and eat another meal. I wouldn't recommend this place for vegan meals unless you live next door. read more

This place is in the same plaza as Bountiful Costco/Office Depot, so plenty of parking. It was not busy on a Saturday evening at 5:30pm (something to worry about?) Ramen: 4/5 average. It would be better if the soup is hotter. Takoyaki: 3/5 my first time having Takoyaki, so don't know what to expect. It has lots of flours inside the ball, the octopus is small. Have wanted to try Ichiro Ramen for awhile and finally got the opportunity this past Saturday. Went in for lunch and there were only a handful of customers but it did get steadily busy while we were there, which is a good sign. Restaurant has a nice clean and calming atmosphere. Although they do have music playing, you can still have a nice conversation at your table without having to yell or talk loudly. Started with some pork char siu buns. They come one to an order. Very tasty although the sauce did make things little messy. The bun could have been a bit softer but overall was good. We also ordered the tonkotsu and miso ramens. Both broths had great flavor, very comforting. A really good amount of ramen in each bowl - one had curvy ramen while the other had straight ramen noodles. Absolutely full after finishing the bowls. Wait staff were friendly and responsive; always checked in with us and got what we needed very quickly. Really enjoyed the fast service. Definitely will be back to try more items off their menu. read more

This place is spot on. I'm half Japanese and live in the greater San Francisco Bay Area where we have amazing Asian food. I'm always skeptical of Asian cuisine in Utah because I'm usually disappointed. But not here! Everything tasted just right (which is a high standard) and truly authentic. We had gyoza, chicken karaage, and takoyaki for appetizers. For the main meal we had ramen bowls (with perfectly seasoned & jammy ramen egg!), chicken curry, and katsudon. Food: The menu selection here is perfect for a ramen house. Not too many main options and excellent appetizers. Ambiance: lighting, decor (clean lines Japanese style modern simplicity), plenty of seating, all excellent. Service: Great. I'm basing my score on location. I'm sure there are ramen houses in big cities that are killer. This isn't those but nevertheless it is good and I'm happy to have a new restaurant near by. We ordered the chicken curry, gyoza and chefs special ramen. The curry has a different flavor than traditional curry. I probably wouldn't order it again, but it certainly wasn't bad. The ramen was good. The egg was seasoned so well. The only thing I would add was some spice or more flavor. I think I'll try the spicy one next time. The gyoza stole the show for me. So yummy!! I've been in this ramen kick for the past few weeks! I want to try every ramen place possible with this cold weather we've been having. I saw this place in Bountiful, super local. I was so excited to try it but I was slightly disappointed. I had the vegetarian ramen. The broth had zero flavor to it. I had to add my own salt to it. I thought it was overpriced for what it was. I don't think I had any additional mix ins & it was $18 for just one bowl. I loved the chopsticks! I didn't have to break them & they were overall really nice. It's been a while since my last post but my visit to Ichiro put me back in the game. Previous readers will remember I don't review nice or good. I call our winners and losers. I love wonderful dives and underdogs, and will castrate posers. Stars are based on value. I have watched the Ichiro frontage for months with anticipation. Opening has been a long process. I happened to drive by today at noon and saw the "open" sign. Suddenly I had new plans for lunch. When you walk in you will realize you're not in Bountiful any more. Considerable effort has gone into creating a true Ramen experience. The service is first rate. From the moment I walked in to walking out the door I felt like I was the most important person there. I ordered the ramen go-to, Tonkotsu Black Garlic Ramen. Presentation was outstanding. And as any ramen geek knows, you start with the egg. All first bites were wonderful. The pork belly melts in you mouth. Incredible broth and other ingredients, but it was the straight noodles that closed the deal. Firm, flash fresh, not overdone. Order an extra egg for $2. Davis County is mostly a gastronomic wasteland. The exceptions are Boba, Janet's Sunshine, Lucky Slice, El Dorado (still my favorite) and now Ichiro! read more

This place just opened up near Costco in Bountiful so we decided to check it out after our Costco run on a Friday evening. The tables were all full so we sat at the bar tables facing the open kitchen. The restaurant is beautiful! We ordered the pork gyoza's for an appetizer and they were the best I've ever had! They put shredded green onion tops over the top and they were amazing! I could have just eaten those and been completely satisfied. We ordered the Tonkotsu Black Garlic Ramen and the Shoyu Beef Ramen. Both were delicious! The Shoyu beef was really good and the curved noodles it comes with are a little more thick and hearty. My Tonkotsu was really great as well, and I loved everything about it. We had just eaten at an authentic Japanese noodle house in Honolulu a few weeks before and this was every bit as good! They do online orders too because we saw lots of people coming in to pick them up. So glad to have this option here in Bountiful. We will be going back here often! read more

The food is incredible and some of the best ramen in the valley. Great service and friendly staff that is always willing to give suggestions and happy to make substitutions if wanted, without grief.
