I've been to the Ramen Haus in Ogden before and had a good experience, so I was excited to try the Farmington location--especially after fasting for 17 hours for a medical test earlier that day. Unfortunately, the service was off this time. My server, Caitlynn, seemed unfamiliar with the basics. When I asked for hot sauce and specifically mentioned sriracha and spicy garlic, she didn't seem to realize sriracha is a type of hot sauce. She said she didn't think they had any, then loudly asked another staff member before grabbing me the spicy garlic. I pointed out the sriracha bottle literally next to it, and she responded with, "Oh! I thought you meant Tabasco or something..." which was just confusing. She also asked if I wanted a fork for my ramen--as if I'd ordered a rice bowl--and then asked again after the food arrived. I declined both times, because... it's ramen. I was also interrupted twice mid-bite with questions, even though I'd clearly mentioned I'd just finished a long fast and was trying to eat. To top it off, she wished me "good luck on your test" after I'd already told her it had happened. I was planning to stay and relax a bit after my meal, but I ended up leaving right after paying because the service felt disruptive and inattentive. That said, I will give them credit where it's due: the veggie shio ramen is way better than the veggie miso. Glad I tried both--but next time I'll probably stick to the Ogden location. read more

I feel this place is sort of a Ying & Yang type of ramen shop. Yes, they certainly do have ramen. But it is such a small selection. I was expecting more like some of the other shops I have been to. We have been coming here since they opened, generally it's pretty good, but this last visit was a bummer. Service was ok, just a touch below expectation. I ordered the "Waygu" Raman and it was naaaaaasty (I have had wagyu ramen at multiple other places) the beef flavor was off, they advertised it as seared, it definitely was not, it was super chewy like unable to eat it chewy and it was just gross. Their eggs are the saltiest egg I've ver had in ramen. I almost didn't touch my ramen, told the server it just wasn't that great and no attempt was made to make it right and I think it's the most expensive thing on the menu, the only response was "so I can take this away if your done" yeah I'm done...... going there for ramen. Not what it used to be, the place used to have a decent rating on yelp, but it's been sliding. Came on a Friday night and it wasn't busy at all. Seating was a little weird. Only option are these wooden chairs that were all very wobbly. I rotated between all 4 of the chairs and they were all shaky. The menu is a QR code and surprisingly very small. There are only about 6 ramen options. You can add things with an extra cost. The food came VERY fast. The appetizer and our dishes came about the same time. The waiter came by often to fill our drinks and the ramen was okay. I love a good ramen shop and have been working my way through most of the shops in Utah. This is definitely a decent option for anywhere north of the valley. I had the ground pork ramen, but there wasn't much pork at all in my dish. The broth had a great flavor, the noodles were made well. I also tried a few appetizers, and generally enjoyed them. The pickle plate was just a few varieties of pickle and though it was fun to try, I don't know if I would get it again. The taro fries were really good, and are kinda like yuca fries. Odd consistency but great once you get used to it. The inside of the restaurant is pretty simple with some casual Japanese decorations. The wooden theme to the restaurant gives a warm feeling and sets a nice tone a bowl of ramen. I was fairly impressed with our waitress, as she served the whole restaurant that evening, and made our experience better. read more

Visited Ramen Haus for the first time and it was pretty good. I don't make it up to the Farmington area much, but ended up here for another event and decided to give this place a try for dinner on a Thursday evening. Our server, Jewel, was amazing. Despite the fact that she was the only server, she still provided REALLY good service and had a smile on her face the entire time. The restaurant was clean and tidy. We had a group of 7 and ordered the karaage, Asian pickles, and taro fries (wow! I didn't think I'd like them!!). For the entrees, we got the tonkatsu, umami bomb, shio, spicy pork, and the chashu pork rice bowl. The ramen was pretty good, but I have to say the rice bowl was pretty lackluster. There was barely any pork when it arrived to the table and was mostly just rice with a little bit of sauce. My friend did not finish the dish and would not recommend it. It feels like a sushi spot. So not fancy but not janky. I actually really enjoy the decor and open concept. The menus are digital, I know some people think that's annoying but I actually don't mind it! Just screen shot what you want so you don't have to go back in when it's time to order. The Shoyu Ramen is SO AUTHENTIC tasting! I get it with the pako tofu instead of meat and it's PERFECT! They also have a garlic siracha type sauce that is the perfect compliment! Ramen Haus is one of the few places in Davis County where one can get a bowl of ramen. And that is their specialty. They also have some appetizer choices that are typical for Ramen restaurants, including gyoza, Edamame, takoyaki and karaage chicken. We started with an order of the karaage, which was served hot, with a light breading over the chicken which was seasoned very well. The dipping sauce said it was a Dijon sauce, but to me it was a bit like the dipping sauce you get at McDonalds for their chicken tenders, just not as thick. It's consistency was too runny and it dripped across the table as we dipped and ate from the common plate at the center of the table dropping sauce all across the table top. I'd recommend a thicker, non-dripping sauce or small plates for each customer to avoid the mess which resulted from the sloppy liquid. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen, as I do whenever I try a new ramen place. At $11, the price was very good. The good point for the ramen was that it had two soft boiled egg halves which were cooked just right. It also had three pieces of charshu pork, which were decently sized. They also tasted pretty good but I've had better for both size and flavor. But, at a higher price too. Three things threw me off on the ramen though, first, that it had corn in the ramen, which I don't care for, and the ramen noodles weren't that great. But they were adequate. More importantly, the broth lacked depth and flavor. It basically just tasted salty to me. It just didn't have the umami of a quality pork broth, which is what I judge my ramen by. My wife had the spicy ground pork ramen, and it's broth was more flavorful, mainly due to the spices. And at $11, I'd consider hers a better buy. I don't plan to make a pilgrimage back north to Ramen Haus, but maybe if I'm in the area, I'll try it again. The price was good so maybe you could say you get what you pay for there. And the karaage chicken itself was quite good. It just needs a sauce upgrade in my opinion. Not a bad place, clean, nicely decorated and a nice server. Just not a great ramen product, which is what I had hoped for from a place that specializes in ramen. read more

For the area... Don't you just love it when reviews start like that? Ramen Haus wasn't the best nor the worst but I definitely would not take anyone there for their first ramen experience. They do get an A for effort and customer service. The servers checked in on people multiple times. They had good attitudes and even packaged the leftovers. The execution of the food is what is lacking. The ramen was only slightly warm and the charsu was not rendered abs luke warm as well. The katsu curry was extremely thin and cut in way too narrow pieces. What's really bad was the white rice was mushy and watery. Perhaps the highlight was the tarp fries, just cause you don't see that on the menu too much. Even those were under fried. If you happen to score a really well fried piece, it was like winning the lottery. Sadly, I'd have to summarize the food as slightly better than store bought ramen. read more

The chili oil dipping sauce was a nice touch, a little spicy but it had a good kick. Noodles are delicious, broth is delicious! I added mushrooms to mine. I don't know that it made it any better honestly. Could have kept them out. The egg was a game changer though! Eggs are marinated in beef broth & perfectly to a soft boil. My daughters and I went here on a Friday night and were seated immediately. We ordered three different apps (kaarage chicken, gyoza, and 3 steamed buns) and the tonkotsu ramen. We weren't super hungry, and it was just the right amount of food for the three of us. All food came out piping hot and tasted fresh. My girls were raving over how yummy it was! My only critique would be I wish the kimchi on the steamed buns was chopped up vs big pieces/leaves of cabbage. It made those a bit hard to eat. Other than that, fantastic! The interior is nice & clean. Their ramen is decent, I think jinya is better. I tried their taro fries, pork gyoza (pot stickers), spam steam bun & the pork shout ramen (I think that's what it's called). Taro fries were okay but we asked for salt since it didn't really have a taste. The dip for the pork pot stickers had too much vinegar and the stickers themselves were too oily with barely any meat (4/10). The spam steam bun (3/10) was not my favorite & I love spam! It was tiny, no real flavor & the kimchi inside tasted a bit off. The ramen itself wasn't the best I've had, it doesn't taste like authentic-ish ramen. We absolutely love Ramen Haus! It's a place I can go with my two kids, or I can even order to go and it is always great. We have always had wonderful service there, even when they're busy. They are very flexible with all of their meals and are willing to make any changes you want or need. My son has some dietary issues and they take care of him every time, no questions asked. I also appreciate that I can get a vegetarian option when I feel like I need something a little lighter, and it is still just as flavorful. We LOVE the gyoza, always have to get two orders, I appreciate that they have sake as an option and I personally respect that they hire younger servers and if they don't have a manager on site that is of age to sell to you, they let you know. It's not easy for them either but the fact that they are giving more people an opportunity for work, that's more important than me not being able to have my occasional sake. Haha. read more

I think they did a great job with their design and decor. Definitely gave me a back in California sushi bar vibe, maybe a back in Japan vibe if not for the over the top artwork on the walls. You're never going to see that while IN Japan. The appetizers we tried were the steam bun and the fried balls with squid. The fried balls were mildly flavored and didn't seem to have very much squid at all. The steam bun was also kind of bland and tasted like everything but the meat was prepared off site and assembled onsite. I would order try them again. The ramen was disappointing, having ordered both the umami and another park based ramen. The flavors were there, but the overall delivery of those flavors was very muted and have the impression of being watery or diluted. The meat and egg were decent, the ramen noodles (which is the point of the dish) was the biggest disappointment. 100% not prepared onsite and most likely poured out of plastic individual serving packages into the broth just before serving. In the end you get the impression that a maruchan (cup o noodle) might have been a better choice when considering what you're paying. Now IDK what people think this working class staple food should cost, but at $17 for the unami ramen I consider and you should consider that what you should receive for your hard earned money is at least a quality dish in all aspects. A hamburger at these prices should be restaurant quality at minimum. A basic soup at these prices should be freshly prepared and well cooked. Might try another location for a second chance but I don't expect a different outcome because I think the end result is a product of their business model and not their staff. Speaking of the staff, despite our server's unprofessional appearance the service was good. It's nice to have options and variety but aim higher please. The food was very bland and salty. Wife got a tonkatsu ramen and I got an udon curry. We split an order of gyoza. The gyoza was deep fried and very processed. The dipping sauce was basically soy sauce. My curry was pork gravy Heinz style with curry paste and some onions tossed through. Wife's ramen was vegetable stock with a cutlet. I will 100% say the ambiance was fantastic and the service was exceptional. Will not be coming back. read more
