When asked "do you recommend this business?" I immediately say...YESSSS!!! What a beautiful place! We stayed in room #14 after our wedding on 09/24/22 & Yoda, the inn cat, selected us to stay with for the night. He slept at the foot of the bed between us. We were told that he knows when someone is a 'cat person' & tends to favor rooms #10, 12, 14 & 20. We were elated to have a king bed with the most comfortable mattress & pillows! They have DirecTV cable. There is a mini fridge in the bathroom area that has tea, soda, champagne, white wine, beer, etc. that you are charged for (just tell them what you consumed & they add it to the room) for fair prices. I think each beer was $5 & the juices were $2. The bathroom in room #14 had a lovely fiberglass shower with tons of shelves, great water pressure & lots of room with glass doors. It was very clean! There are bathrobes in the closet, but we didn't use them. Also in the vanity area, where the mini fridge is located, are an ice bucket, wine glasses & regular water glasses. They supply very nice shampoo, conditioner, soaps, a shower cap & lotion! For what you pay, you receive the nicest of things! So, let's talk about breakfast... You have the option of dining in their dining area OR having it delivered to your room. A simple call to the desk to place your order & a delivery time of under 20 minutes was convenient. They arrive with a tray of well-presented food, cloth napkins, nice silverware & garnish. We stayed 2 nights & had breakfast delivered both mornings. On the menu, they offer an "omelet of the day" along with other choices like French toast or eggs the way you want 'em. I have to say that most of your 3-star or even 4-star hotels offer 'grab-n-go' breakfasts that basically SUCK...but we had a hot breakfast for the same price per night as those places (i.e. Best Western, Comfort Inn....you get it). I believe that our plan is to go back for a weekend to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary & get a chance to have dinner. Unfortunately, the chef is N/A on Sundays so we missed out on that opportunity. Though on the pricier side, the menu sounds AMAAAZZZINGGGG!

Easily a 5 star experience at the Chesterfield Inn! My husband and I booked a night here before the new year and had an amazing time! As soon as we walked in we were greeted by not only the amazing and friendly staff but also the inn cat- yoda! We are total cat people so yoda was an added perk to our stay! The decor of this inn is so cute and vintage. During the holiday season the decorations are beautiful! I loved the whole vibe of this inn so much. Our room was absolutely magical! The fireplace was a beautiful touch. The king bed was probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on! I was so sad to leave knowing my bed at home was not nearly as comfy as this one! An added perk is the restaurant with their amazing chef! We absolutely loved their maple creme brûlée! I am drooling just thinking about it now. We are foodies so we tried a lot of different places/ foods during our stay in the area and we both can say that that maple creme brûlée was our absolutely favorite thing we had during our trip! We also received a nice breakfast which was included with our stay. I got the maple French toast and my husband got an omelette. We loved their home fries so much! We just wish we had more of them on our plates because we devoured them that quickly! Oh and did I mention they serve house made muffins with your breakfast?! We were served delicious blueberry muffins and they were so perfect alongside our breakfast! I have nothing but amazing things to say about the Chesterfield Inn! I will recommend this inn to all my friends and family as we had such a fantastic time! We cannot wait to come back! Hope to see Yoda again too!

We had a very nice dinner outside on the patio. Our waitress at first seemed frazzled and not that friendly. However, we think that it may have been because she was all by herself. After another waitress came to help out, she became friendlier. We had a wedge salad to start and it was good, not great. It did have a few brown spots on it which we had to cut off. Then for dinner I got the Filet Mignon and my husband got the Salmon. Both were delicious, but my steak was more rare than medium. We just ate it because we didn't feel comfortable asking for it to be cooked more. For dessert we got a Carrot Cake and a Maple Creme Brulee. Both were excellent, especially the Carrot Cake. Next time I think that we will eat inside because there were a lot of little red ants under our table. Which can happen since you're outside, so I'm not complaining.

There was plenty of counterspace in the bathroom and a heat lamp. Plus, the shower had doors and not a curtain, thankfully. The bed was huge and comfortable. I loved waking up and staring out over the river. The balcony was great and the view of the Connecticut River is so pleasant and peaceful. I appreciate the mini fridge and the coffee maker. Making coffee and drinking it in bed while looking outside was an absolute highlight. Plus, they offer coffee in the mornings in a common area, with access to a deck, but I didn't check it out. I'd appreciate some hooks near the door, but other than that, the room was perfect. Staff is so friendly and helpful. Everyone was very welcoming. Riverside doesn't offer any type of food or sundries, but there is a convenience store next door that offers a good selection of snacks and drinks, so that is helpful. When visiting this area of New Hampshire or southern Vermont, Riverside is the place to stay.

There are electrical outlets in the right places, light switches work like you think they do, everything functions the way it should, and plenty of place. Wifi was good enough for a week's worth of work meetings using Google Meet with no drops or other connectivity issues. The speed test came out on the very low end though, so don't expect to be downloading gigabytes of data in only seconds. The staff is very friendly and they generally seem to know what they're doing, and genuinely seem like they want to help you have a good stay. This hotel won't win any avant garde design awards. It's neither badly designed nor 'designer', but that's okay. I wasn't expecting luxury decor and architecture here. I do wish the rates were a little lower. I get that it's basically all river views, but on the other hand, aside from free coffee/tea 7am-10am in the lower floor, there are really no amenities. The gym is a small room with very minimal equipment. There isn't much of a lounge/lobby to speak of except for a couch and a couple of armchairs. There's no onsite restaurant, cafe, or counter-service spot. There is a convenience store a 3-minute walk away, but that's about it. The location on the river is great, but if you want to grab a bite to eat or explore, basically anything other than some hiking in the nearby woods, you need to drive there. So walkability is not great at this place. All that said, it was a nice 'retreat' from the world, where I could get some work done during the day, and have a clean and peaceful place to sleep at night after adventures out in Brattleboro and beyond. Bathrooms: Spacious, clean, and functional.

The absolute only problem we had was that it was so very difficult to find. Directions were rather complicated as it is hidden on a very noice lot, behind a local grocery shopping center with only a small service road address near an interaction with a major road through town. You really cannot even see it from I-91 because of the trees. Remember, this is Vermont, land of big green trees. My best hint for those looking, even with a map, is to turn at the Hannaford Supermarket and take the service road to get behind it. Our room was more elegant than expected for a quick service hotel. Though the heat took some help in adjusting as the weather had turned suddenly cold, we got help from the desk and it turned out not to have been on the "heat" setting yet and then we had two warm cozy nights. It had better lighting than most and because of vision impairment, I need that. They had a nice breakfast laid out in the entry lounge though we opted for our fave donuts as we headed out early the first morning to get to Hanover to spend the day with friends where we knew food was waiting. The second morning we set out just with the hot drinks as it was very early and we needed to get in 3 hours of driving to the Providence airport to fly home. If I was to go to Brattleboro again, I would definitely stay here.

The lady who was in charge of the breakfast area was awesome. She checked to make sure each item had a good amount left in the tray, if not, she refilled it immediately. The only complaint was that the check-in time was supposed to be at 3:00 pm, but my room was not ready until almost 5:00 pm. We arrived the hotel at 4:15 pm and the front desk advised me that they would need another 5-10 minutes to wrap up the cleaning. We waited in the parking lot until 4:30 and walked back in to check with the front desk, she told me that they would need another few minutes and she said she would call me as soon as the room was ready. We waited in the parking lot and again we walked in to check at 5:00, guess what, she said the room was ready for us! Where was the call that we were supposed to receive "as soon as the room is ready"? ... this was quite disappointing.

The room still has that older feel to it which is okay because there was plenty of room for the two of us staying there. The bed was comfortable, although the pillows were a little too squishy for my liking. Pillows are always hit or miss when you travel though. There was a mini fridge for our food, and even a microwave. The bathroom was pretty standard. The only downfall from the bathroom was that the shower water pressure was a little iffy. It seemed to hit right next to the handle bar in the shower which made it a little tight in there trying to not hit the bar. But otherwise, the bathroom itself was pretty good. This hotel compared to some of the other ones in the area stood out above the rest in quality and if we ever go back to Brattleboro, we will definitely stay here again.
