I had no idea that this Aldi existed, that was until they sent me coupon for free money. Y'all know me and my thrifty nifty frugal fanatical ways can't turn down free money, so here it go. Apparently, the location has been remodeled. I mean it is really nice, it is located pretty much on Washington and Caton maybe Patapsco Ave. Pretty easy to spot from the road as the sign is fairly high. Parking is great, I've hardly been there when there were more than a handful of cars in the lot. Same deal as all the other Aldi's, keep your Aldi quarter in the car for your shopping cart, and bring plenty of bags so that you won't have to buy them. The store is well organized and clean, there is a nice selection of produce and meats. I've noticed that this location appears to have more organic and gluten free options than others that I have frequented. You really can't beat the prices of those things, especially at how delicious they are. So far I haven't had to wait in a massive line which is cool, I'm happy as it isn't as crowded as some of the others in the area...hmph maybe they didn't get the coupon. Either way if they keep sending me free money, I'll keep going. Winna!

The turnover is quick and I've never had to wait to park. People are usually in & out. Issues... the only herbs they sell is cilantro. I'm ok with that (mostly). I love getting my seasonal produce from there because it is so fresh and flavorful. They also have locally sourced baked goods, jams, spices, and candies. The plant selection is also unreal. They have about 8 greenhouses all filled with different plants. Feels like walking through a local garden rather than a nursery. A plus is also that they usually have a food truck on the weekends. You can grab a hot breakfast and brunch, empanadas, pies, donuts, coffee, vegan items, dips, fresh bread, flowers, tea, dairy meat and, of course, locally grown fruits and vegetables. I went to the market for some fresh baked bread and bagels. While I was there, I was persuaded to purchase a vegan sandwich and some organic vegetables. I had to stop myself because there were quite a bit of other things that caught my eye too. The market is set up right below the highway and was very easy to get to. There is a public parking lot right next to it as well as lots of street parking. I found the Instagram page for the market and the website to be very helpful and informative with information like times, vendors and explanations on how to arrive. All of this adds up for a uniquely Baltimore experience with something for everyone.

It's right next to the playground at Christian Temple, so it is very kid-friendly! Walk into the parking lot and there is usually someone playing music (often a man playing the accordion) and two rows of stalls. The farmers are very friendly and offer a good variety of produce. Some are reasonably priced, others are a little more expensive than a store, but sometimes that's the price of supporting quality, local, small business! Most of the foods are produce, but there are a few places that sell meats, cheeses, and eggs. In addition to that, there are some vendors who sell soaps, honey, prepared foods like granola, and occasionally someone is selling wine/beer/mead. My son and I like to get pastries from Garrett, the Parisian pastry chef. Daunted? There's usually an info table with people sharing recipes, gardening tips, etc. At least some of the vendors accept food stamps, but I'm not sure if they all do. Short on cash? There's a stall where you can buy tokens with your card and use the tokens to purchase at the stalls. It's a small, but great farmer's market!

The line was 10 people long for 1 register. I watched Debra come out and it looked like she might open a register. I sent my son over to ask if she was opening a lane. She ignored him the first two times and then said no the third time he asked. (He's a shy, quiet 8yo). She then pulled the two people directly in front of us over to her new line and then announced anyone with less than 15 items could line up in order behind the people she had pulled over. I listened to her call the people ahead of us sweetie & darling. But when we finally got in line it was all very glum business. Once I got my receipt I pointed out to her I had watched her lie to my son. She acted like she didn't know and I quietly reminded her he had asked if she was opening a lane and she told him no and then literally opened the lane 30 seconds later. She yelled at us a few times as we exited the store telling us she would go get her manager. A kind lady behind us was appalled at how we'd been treated. Does Debra hate children? What did we do to deserve that?

The owner called another local store to ask if they had those items in stock and then gave the customer full directions to drive there from Culinary Architecture.
