My second time being here last week, my first was on a Saturday, second time was on Sunday morning this place is amazing! My boyfriend loves eating here for breakfast! The waitress even recognized us from that first time on Saturday morning! Loud, but the place is still worth the trip to Riverside to eat lunch, breakfast, or whatever else! The menu is pretty simple, but definitely delicious, cheap & affordable too!! Good for the budget!! Will be looking forward to coming back this weekend for some delicious food again!! I can't believe it's taken me this long to eat here! This restaurant has been a Riverside staple for YEARS! It's my brother and his girlfriend's favorite breakfast place. My husband used to frequent this place a lot in the early 2000's. We went for breakfast around 9:30am on a Saturday. It was busy, but not packed enough that required us to wait to be seated. Our waitress was a very fun, attentive woman. She only forgot to bring me peanut butter, but she kept my coffee mug full! I got a simple cheese omelette and a pancake. The omelette was gooey and great, tho I did have to add salt & pepper. My husband got the chicken fried steak. He said it was warm & crispy, but really lacked flavor. We both got a pancake and they're of course huge! Both had a little too much butter on top, but they were super yummy. I ate almost the whole thing. Prices are great! And my coffee was wonderful! We'll be going back, soon. Parking lot is tiny; beware if you have a big truck like us. Bathroom are fine. Place has a 'I'm eating at Grandma's house' vibe. Everyone was crazy friendly. read more

We love this place and stop every time we pass it.(we are from St. Louis). It's a home town dinner at its finest. The gyros and pancakes never disappoint. My husband loves their post roast specials. My father-in-law took us here when we stopped into town and the food was a delight! The fries are battered golden and perfectly slight crisp and tasty. I had the Greek gyro and it was the best one I've had in a long time! Fried bread with tons of cucumber sauce made it delicious! If I could give a NEGATIVE on stars i would. Went in for lunch today Aug 13 and ordered a Reuben Sandwich with no sourkrauht and cook made it with sourkrauht and would not fix. We were close enough to window listing to cook tell the waitress he did not care what customer ordered and told waitress to scrape off sourkrauht and serve it. Great way to run your business. The wait staff was friendly. Kept my coffee cup filled. Prices were low. Now the bad....I had the pancakes. They were huge. They were also tasteless and room temp. The could at least been hot. There were very few customers. The coffee was very weak , too. I thought that I had mistakenly been given tea but it was very watered down coffee. If the staff hadn't been so nice I would probably had said something about my meal but I figured that I wouldn't be returning so it wasn't worth hurt feelings. read more

How this restaurant has a four star rating is beyond me. My mother and I came to have breakfast and I wished we never had. The omelette had processed cheese in it and well for the cost of just the omelette it wasn't worth the $7.99 we paid for it. That omelette sat in the pit of my stomach the whole day. I used to visit this place often when I lived in Southeastern South Dakota. The one thing I really miss is the gyro platter. A gyro so large you can't pick it up, with a heaping serving of meat (cooked on the authentic spinning gyro meat contraption) and plenty of tzatziki. Plus a heap of french fries (this is the Midwest, after all.) I haven't found anything to compare anywhere else. Sunday evening and not much too choose from in area other than fast food. They were still open so we went in. What a great choice. The outside not much to look at, almost drove by. We ordered the fried whole catfish. Moist on inside and good and crunchy on outside. Not overly battered. Open face roast beef sandwich also very good.
