We love Soho!! Great cocktails, food, and vibes. I loved their seasonal fall cocktail: the caramel apple mule. Any mule they have is amazing. They have a great selection of burgers, sandwiches, wraps, pizzas, and dinners. Great place for events or a date night. Service was great; she made to sure to keep our drinks and shot glasses full

My buddy and I decided to revisit one of our most favorite restaurants from our high school and early college days, Soho Kitchen & Bar, for the next stop on our Boyz Against Salads (BAS) tour. It had been many moons since the last time we had dined here, but many fond memories still float back into our minds when we think of the flatbread pizzas, particularly the cubed pepperoni topping that graces many different pizzas. The restaurant building still holds the same nostalgic vibe and makes you feel as if you were in New York City. The hardwood interior with the dim lighting is something that we had missed. During COVID, Soho ran a condensed menu, as did almost every other restaurant, and it took some time for them to build back to their original menu. Flatbread pizza lovers had to wait an excruciating amount of time before any of the pizzas returned for ordering. Thankfully, the menu has been back to normal for a few years at this point. We got to Soho in the early afternoon, and there was not much of a lunch rush when we arrived. It started to pick up a little bit by the time we had left. We had a GREAT waiter take care of us during our time there. Unfortunately, we are unable to recall his name, but he checked on us frequently and had a true grasp of the menu. He made us feel right at home, like we had known him for years. We wanted to try a few different apps, so we went with the onion rings and cheddar crisps (cheese balls) to start off. Mind you, we had already had a pre-lunch by splitting an Italian sub from Jersey Mike's earlier that day. The apps came out extremely quickly. The onion rings have a thick, panko breading. You get a nice portion of these. For the cheddar crisps, you get a behemoth of a basket that is full to the brim. Both apps came with ranch that I would put up there with some of the best I have tried. However, the cheddar crisps were way too greasy and were not very crispy because of this. The cheese had a good flavor on the inside, but they were very soggy on the outside. If you have ever made homemade cheese balls, this is what I would equate it to. They were still decent, but we were hoping for a crunchier exterior coating. If we could only order one in the future, I would recommend the onion rings. For our main dishes, we both ordered flatbread pizzas. There is an option for a "lunch version" of the pizzas that saves you $5 off the total bill, when compared to the regular menu. We both ended up going for this option. We were told by our waiter that this "lunch version" is roughly 25-30% smaller than the normal version. I believe the last time we had visited Soho together was likely 2019. What made the pizzas so special here was the size and the taste. Like I mentioned earlier, the cubed pepperoni was top notch. We could not wait to sink our teeth and claws into these pizzas. My buddy ordered the pepperoni and cream cheese pizza, while I ordered the works pizza. I asked for no mushrooms on my pizza and for ham to be added to mine ($2.00 extra fee). My buddy asked for all veggies (peppers, onions, and olives), besides mushrooms, to be added to his pizza (no additional charge). As our pizzas came out, there was immediate disappointment. We were met with no cubed pepperoni, rather the simple circular kind. I am not sure when Soho decided to make this change to their pizzas, but this is a very bad decision in our eyes. We LOVED Soho for many years. Imagine the frustration we experienced after waiting for so long to return and try one of our favorite meals. The pizzas themselves were fine. There was a tremendous amount of cheese on them. The dollops of cream cheese were gigantic, but that was amazing to see. We did wonder if the actual flatbread dough itself had been changed too, compared to what it used to be. For our BAS tour, we rate restaurants based on five categories: price point, taste, portion size, restaurant ambiance, and plating. We both give each category a score out of five, average them, and then add up everything to end with a total score out of 50. For Soho, I will list the combined scores for each category in the order listed above: 4, 1, 4, 4, and 2.5. Our low score for taste definitely stemmed from the pizzas not being as good as we remember them to be. The apps did not rank high in our list either. Overall, Soho came in with a 31/50 or 62%, which tied for last place on our BAS list. We questioned whether we just had a bad experience and if we should have tried to eat supper there instead. Our love for Soho runs deep, and we are exploring whether or not to offer a redo down the road. For reference, I have included pictures from 2018 and 2020 that show the works pizza with the cubed pepperoni. We hope Soho will make the decision to return to this style of pepperoni in the near future for their diehard customers. Queue up Toby Keith, "As Good as I Once Was".

Everything was delicious and the service was super fast. I wish our service would have check in with us more since she never refill our drinks and we were thirsty. The place is full of Broadway póster which I thought is was pretty cool. The cookies skillet was to die for!

We were downtown trying to find a new restaurant and this one popped up on our radar. We were pleased to see it had a wide variety on the menu. I was in the mood for comfort food that day and could not believe I saw tater tot casserole and chicken pot pie on the menu LOL My husband ordered the Osso Bocco pork with mashed potatoes and was pleased with it. My daughter ordered the pork chop and said it was good. HOWEVER I ordered the chicken pot pie and trust me when I say this will be what I order next time I go! The biscuit crust melted in your mouth and the potatoes carrots and gravy were amazing. We will definitely be going back soon as I want to try the other casseroles as well!

Good food in a unique atmosphere. Our kids (13, 4, and 3) were welcome and they enjoyed the kids menu. We visited at 4:45pm on a Wednesday; there were a few other tables sat but it wasn't a busy time. Street parking is on the meter but it's free after 5pm. Service was friendly and focused on making sure that we enjoyed our meal. The food was hot and delicious. I wanted something unique since I was from out of town and the server quickly offered the good suggestions. I chose the SoHo Popper Topper Burger since it was the current best seller and I wasn't disappointed. There was also a nice selection of drafts including a couple local brews which we tried and enjoyed. The prices were lower than I had expected and the food and service were both worth more than we paid. $87 for two appetizers, two adult entrees, two kid meals, one coke, and four draft beers.

Looking for someplace good to eat in Sioux City when you are a pescatarian who doesn't drink can be challenging. This place had a blackened salmon salad on the menu so I decided to give it a try. It took a while for someone to take my drink order. I began to wonder if, because I came alone with long hair and a beard, maybe they thought I was homeless and would run out on the tab. Finally she came over, but then I find that the only non-alcoholic drinks are virgin imitations of alcoholic drinks, which I hate. So I had water. The blackened salmon salad though was excellent. That piece of salmon doesn't look like much but it is very tasty. The combination with good spinach, shaved parmesan and some kind of chutney was delicious.

Service: We stopped by here for the first time and had a great experience over all. When we got there all the booth were taken and expected to wait 20min but the staff then clear up a table for us and made sure my kids were comfortable. Our server was wonderful and was super attentive to our table. It was a really busy night and whenever our server wasn't around the other staff where helpful as well. We really were impressed on how quickly our food came out too. Food: My husband got the jambalaya and he really enjoyed it didn't get much critique from home but his empty plate spoke for itself lol I order the popper topper which is a jalapeño burger with cream cheese and onions a lettuce on the side for your liking. The meat was really flavorful and cooked perfectly. I would definitely recommend. Kids food: Both of my kids ordered the spaghetti one with fries on side and the other with fruit in the side This is the only thing that was little comical to me . We're at a restaurant ordering "Fruit" and receive a fruit cup? Umm no thank you . I asked one of the server to replace it with fresh fruit since the menu said "fruit" not fruit cup. She then sliced up some oranges at the bar which I appreciated better than a fruit cup my son felt cheated ordering fruit at a restaurant. Atmosphere: I Appreciate that I felt welcome with my family and also to come back to have some adult time. They have cool decor throughout the restaurant comics, bicycles, cute barrels as bar tables too. Do I recommend? Absolutely! Looking forward to having the popper topper again .

Great atmosphere, but the food didn't match. The reuben is bland (great bread, tasteless meat, bland kraut), and the bread pudding...embarrassing. It's just some canned cinnamon roll strips smooshed into a pan and baked. The portion is huge, but only the edges were edible. The rest was....well...like cheap canned cinnamon roll mush. Beer was cold as wonderful.

The onion rings were fine, good even. The ranch, however, was watered-down and horribly thin. At first my partner suggested it was homemade because of its consistency. If this is homemade ranch, please switch to a commercial alternative. The soups that came with the meals were good. Canned, for sure, but from quality cans which I can appreciate for what they are. The real problem was the Philly wrap. I should have taken more photos to display the sheer scale of the portion, I could cover the whole wrap with my hand. It was $10.75 for a wrap the size of a McDonald's breakfast wrap. You know, the ones available for purchase TWO AT A TIME because of their small size. My Fish and Shrimp dinner was subpar, but nothing horrible. The fish is advertised as "freshly breaded", quotations included. The quotations do a lot of heavy lifting in this claim as the breading was soggy by the time it arrived at the table. I still tipped 18% because I'm not a monster and this wasn't the waitress' fault. She was very sweet and came around to check on us. Overall: I write this scathing but honest review to ward off future customers. This is assuredly the most unfortunate $50+ dollars I have ever spent.

I typically try to stay away from…read morerestaurants that have a denomination before a family member, because they're usually a train wreck. Like "5 Guys" (which is absolute garbage, and I have no idea how this place stays in business, because I've never seen a single one of these have any customers inside) But I'm digressing, and I'm glad I gave this place a shot! I walked over here, and I walked through the patio dining area, through the patio entrance/exit, not realizing that the main exit was just around the corner of the building but I made it in anyhow. The kid up front was super nice, and asked me where I wanted to sit and I chose the bar, naturally! This place is super clean, even the bathrooms, so that was really nice. A bunch of TVs, and I think I even saw signage for live music on Fridays? But it's a pretty big venue, and they even have their own private dining room for private parties, at least I'm guessing. My bartender, was a spitting image of a woman I know in the town where I live, in the Eastern Sierra mountains. I literally had to double take and triple take to make sure it wasn't her. But unlike the lady I know, this bartender was nothing short of excellent! One star goes for the knowledgeable bartender, and the successful owner knowing that 'extra lime' means WEDGES, not WHEELS. It wasn't too busy in there, but she was really attentive to the bar patrons, and was on top of her game. Everybody sitting at the bar area, were so nice to one another, we were all talking and I ended up meeting this really nice, older gentleman that I chit-chatted with up until he left. I love the fact that the people here are so open and comfortable with one another and can engage in friendly banter. So that being said, my bartender constantly kept an eye on me and never interrupted my conversations when she wanted to offer me another drink or to order supper. She always timed it perfectly right! I'm on a no carb kick, so I ordered the smothered pork chops, with steamed broccoli and asparagus. Man, was it good. Those asparagus were popped down over an open flame and roasted, and even though very simple and basic, some of the best asparagus I've had at a restaurant ever. My whole trip was very enjoyable, and it looks like I'll be here in Sioux City for a few more days at least, so I will probably poke my head in there, this weekend! I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND YOU TRY THIS PLACE. I eat all over the country, from fine dining, to little holes in the wall in the deep south. This time, not even the homemade complimentary kettle chips were good. They were mostly broken, pretty stale, and basically tasteless. This is too bad, because it's usually a draw. The margarita was the worst I've had in my life. The server misunderstood our request for a second round and brought me another, so I had to have two of them. The service is another sour note: we had to flag her down throughout the visit. One time she was unavailable and someone unkempt and lackadaisical visited our table in her stead. One of us got the Cuban and he said it was good. He is used to having legit Cuban sandwiches, so he probably is on to something there. Unfortunately, the rest of us ordered based on a photo advertisement of theirs they have posted up inside the restaurant. That was false advertising if I've ever seen it. The prime rib wasn't just not good, it was revolting. The only good thing was the baked potato. After dinner, we went out to the patio for some mediocre live music and a different server who was actually rude. Once a year is looking more like never again.
