I was very happy with the end result. So I started this journey years prior when we had a couple of days of down pours. There was a slight dribble of water on an overhung portion of my dining area. I called some homeowners and asked about the options. After speaking with several I thought to wait, but got a second opinion from Harview roofing just to be sure. The salesman came out, looked at my house, and told me I still had about three to four years on the roof. He offered to replace it, but said it could wait too. So I started researching what were the best options of roofing contractors. Then I got opinions from friends, and finally two years later, after another set of down pours, I called for estimates. Then I had groups visiting with overpriced quotes: some offering 50 years warranty instead of 25, or storm chasers offering to work on my behalf with the insurance companies, and some who shared their products and had the A+ ratings from BBB and/or Google. So I combed the ratings and found Harview, with the same guy coming back offering a free quote. Now in those years I learned to look for the following: A company who has been in the roofing industry for decades. (No fly by nights) A company who hires their employees versus ones who sell the job to a low bid contractor. (Someone who hires roofers and not carpenters.) A company who offers different manufacturers for quality products. (Options) A company who has a good warranty for their products and craftsmanship. (I think all do.) Free estimates with no pressure to sign. (Most wanted me to sign something and have my partner sign on that same day.) A company that offers a few payment options. A company who wouldn't force us to put in a new gutter or soffit system. (Ours was done 6 years prior and was working.) So it came down to two companies that were willing. But Harview hit the mark for longevity. So I called the company and the salesman came back out, but he was the owner too. He had been to my house several times before. Everything felt right. All the above boxes were checked. All that was left was the install. And after the install, I can tell you I found two small errors. Some flashing was a bit loose and a railing pole was off. I called the next day and by the following day it was fixed. So I walked around the house and I have zero complaints. They removed my direcTV antenna, encased my chimney and cleaned the perimeter, which never looked so nice. I mean they cleaned the materials but also took the excess leaf piles where some materials might have fallen. And the price was competitive. I can't believe this horrible company is still in business. They assured me their workers were employees - not contractors - yet the people who showed up had a different company name on their beat up van. The workers crouched on the edge of my roof and whacked at the board closest to the gutter with a hammer to chop off the amount they felt needed to be trimmed off. I was never given the promised drip edge. Then they installed a ridge vent without cutting the whole underneath it. When I complained, they returned and hacked a rough opening with a hammer. The workers worked after dark installing shingles by flashlight. The workers broke the cover to my hot tub by perching a ladder on it and didn't disclose it to me. On the day they returned to repair the damage to my lawn, they raised the bed of the dump truck to dump top soil and broke off many major branches of my tall trees. They then tried to hide this by tossing some branches down my side yard hill and wedging others into the base of evergreens in my yard. While I was trying to decide how to handle this mess, they filed in court for my final payment and pulled sleazy legal manuevers so that I only got part of a resolution. Need I say more? read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND. Their communication is the pits. They left us hanging for months after accepting our deposit. Every time I called to ask when our roofing job would be done I would be told "we have you on the schedule for next week" or "I'll have the owner call you." When neither happened, I would call again and be told the same thing. Once they even called me to let me know they would come out the following week, and two weeks later I was back to calling them after they never showed. Finally after more than four months they show up and replace the roof. It looks good, but it is not worth the aggravation and lack of professionalism. read more

I'm very happy with my roof. They showed up on time and cleaned up very nicely upon leaving. Customer service was good too.

Used Harview for the roof on our house and on our shop with new gutters and gutter guards. Very pleased with the results of both jobs.

Worst company. Terrible customer service. They do NOT care. They may not even finish the job you have paid them for. Then when you call to find out why the work has not been completed you get a nasty attitude and no assistance. We are still waiting for them to complete the work we paid for. read more

I called Harview and asked for an estimate on my roof. The person that answered the phone gave me an appointment for Friday between 1 and 3:30. At 4 pm on friday after not hearing anything I called back and she took my info again and told me the estimator would call me...she called back 5 minutes later to tell me that the estimator was running late (no apology for the lack of communication or for keeping me waiting) and could the estimator come out Saturday morning between 9 and 10. I agreed but told her that we were leaving to go away for the weekend so he HAD to be there by 10. At 10:15 we left. We still have not heard from anyone at Harview. If they care so little about their potential customers how are they going to treat me after I pay them? I will find a company that believes my time is as valuable as theirs. read more

I echo the one star reviews here! Lack of plans, lack of communication, lack of response. They did our full roof 9 years ago and it was fine for awhile, but recently we needed a repair of one end, water running down the inside wall. We have called repeatedly to make an appointment for them to come take a look. Finally a man came, took a look and left, and he never communicated what the problem or plan was. We have called again to find out what the plan is, and Joe told us he would get back to us later that day. It didn't happen. I guess they've lost our business, and we will not be recommending them to anyone else. read more

We hired Harview to replace our roof. The roof work seems fine, but there was a substantial mess left on our property when they were finished. I work during the day and when I came home after they had done the worked I was shocked by the mess they had left. Debris was all over the lawn, the driveway, and several of my shrubs had branches that were broken. A large piece of old roofing debris was also wedged into on of the shutters on our front windows. I had to call them to return to clean up! The manager told me that roofing "is messy work." No apology was offered at all. In the process of doing the job, they also broke two outside flood lights, and I had to make them repair their damage. I am not enough of a roofing expert to know how well they did the actual roof replacement. I guess time will tell. The roofers they sent to do the work did not speak English at all. read more

You are correct. Absolutely the worst roofing company. The owner (salesman) denied that they had damaged the perfectly good façade after doing the roofing job. I have pictures before and after of my home. Absolutely the worst customer service telephone attitude of any salesman I have ever dealt with after they received my payment. You should be ashamed of how you speak to clients. Had to have another roofing company fix damages that they made and did not hold themselves accountable. read more

We purchased a 30 yr. roof from this company... the year 2006 or 2007. The installation in general was acceptable, since we have not had any leaks from the roof shingle area itself and we got the upgraded shingle product we paid for. But, they used the wrong material to seal joints, flashings, collar vents, and in 2015 we had a collar vent and a chimney flashing leak into 2 of our bedrooms. It cost me $1,500 in emergency repairs to have the roof sealed properly. It may be of interest also that in 2014, I was doing a routine inventory of my documents to digitize, and could not find anything...no paper, no digital records, not even the payment record for this job (MY FAULT). I could have called the bank, but I was not sure of what year to ask for. I called/contacted the company to see if they could give a copy of the work order/invoice, and a girl told me that they do not keep records that old and that older records were kept off site, and they did not search for them. She told me that she would tell her manager about it and they would call me if they could help me. Nobody called me and I sent an email to the President of the company, to which I received no reply. All that could say to somebody is DON'T USE THEM! read more

I contacted Harview Roofing Company (Harford Road) in regards to replacing my residential roof. The representative that I spoke with in the office gave me a date that the estimator would come out to give an estimate, however, that did not take place. I called the next day and she indicated that the estimator would be out the following day and that I would not have to be present. A couple of days later I went into the office to make a down payment for the project and to schedule a date for the roof replacement. Three weeks had expired from the original date of work. Once again I telephoned the office to inquire and I was informed that they had been extremely busy with work. I guess I was not important, but yet they could accept my money. I went along with them and they scheduled another day and once again, another three weeks had lapsed. I went in to the office and demanded my deposit because of their breach of contract. This company was aware of the importance of replacing the roof on my rental property, but had no interest or real concern in completing the project as agreed. I WOULD NOT recommend this company to anyone. CUSTOMERS PLEASE BE AWARE OF GREEDY CONTRACTORS WHO ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY AND DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU OR THE WORK. read more
