I had the Cool as a Cucumber cocktail ($15.50), which was light and refreshing. For food, we got the 10pcs Chicken Wings ($16.50) and Pepperoni Pizza ($15.50). The food came out fairly quick and piping hot, especially that pizza. It was tasty and good although the cheese was falling apart a bit, which made it messy. Plus, lots of oil in these pepperoni cups. As for the wings, we got two flavors: honey sriracha and spicy buffalo. They separated them and also gave celery with ranch to pair. I enjoyed the flavors on these, which were nicely coated with sauce. Overall, nice spot to hang out. I'd come more often if it was easier for me to get here, but it's a bit in the middle of nowhere. The prices are on the higher side, but I guess I am paying Williamsburg conveniences. This is terrific food outside of the Rhineland, and since that is where I am headed at the end of the year, at least I am going out on a high note. Phase I: The Pretzel As you may have guessed, getting a pretzel is a must for me for any biergarten or microbrewery. The pretzel is super soft and easy to eat. I asked afterwards if I could get a pretzel with no salt or if the pretzels here are pre-salted. I could have gotten it with no salt if I chose. That is probably the way to go, unless you want your mouth to taste like an ocean. Phase II: The Meat This time I found a happy medium, settling for three sausages. I got a Bratwurst, a Currywurst, and a Keisewurst, better known in Europe as the Käsekrainer. All three sausages are smoked beautifully and have amazing flavor. The Currywurst is something I had never had before, but after having it here, I am very excited to have it in Germany. The Käsekrainer is a sausage I know all too well. A pork sausage with cheese inside. This sausage checks all the boxes in terms of flavor, spice because of the jalapeño interior, and variance as it crosses American and European palettes. The Bratwurst is tried and true, albeit the safe choice, like getting a hamburger at McDonald's or Burger King. I also got a side order of fries which are massive, but also have great flavor. I could not finish these. The sausages also come with sauerkraut, something I am not a fan of, but the mustards I got plus a nice cider really took this over the top. Phase 3: The Strudel While disappointed that this restaurant does not offer a Black Forest Cake, a strudel with vanilla gelato is a nice alternative. This restaurant does it well. Perfectly cooked. A nice sweetness from the fruits and the gelato (combine the gelato with the strudel and the taste is heavenly), and you have a nice way to end your meal. -- The fact that it is not far from the L train helps in terms of convenience, but I chose the more challenging footing and walked 20 minutes to Marcy Ave on the J/M/Z to really burn off the calories. Or you could just go to the Williamsburg Bridge and walk across the whole thing to really get your post meal workout in. Either way, the food here is so good you will eat so much of it that you have to work off the calories. Danke.

However, Truman explained that " on weekends the pop up food markets are here or patrons bring food to picnic". He suggested Red Hook Kitchenette to purchase sandwiches and bring it back and dine here. ( which I did, see separate review for RHK). I asked for suggestions on an IPA that is citrusy and he suggested the Hazy IPA Wolf in the Garden. WITG has hints of tropical fruit, stone fruit and orange peels. An IPA Fawn approved. They serve beer, cider, wine and spirits. The interior is rustic with wood tables, soft lighting and just a chill beer. The outside picnic tables face the waterfront and Lady Liberty, what a view! Sipping my beer in the sweet sunshine. I am falling in love with NY crafted beer and IPA. Strong Rope will become a Fawn fave fast.
