Unfortunately, one of the pieces was damaged, so needed to be returned. The blessing in disguise was that I chose to go with a 2nd nightstand (and the mirror for the dresser) instead of the chest of drawers. We were told they hold up to 350 pounds which we are no where even close to that weight and assured this was a quality brand that would last . It's just myself and my husband and we take extremely good care of our things. After purchasing we noticed a tear in the corner top on the end recliner which a repair guy came out and fixed. It is now a year in a half old . Recliners are sinking into wood, cushions in foot rest all sunk. One of the regular cushions that's probably has been sat on a hand full of times was ripped, and corner that was previously repaired came undone. Was extremely disappointed as it wasn't a cheap sectional. Called several times and waited over a month for a repair guy to come out after first guy never returned a call or showed up. Owner finally sends a different repair guy who came out. We explained the problems. Since it was sinking in he decided to put in a different foam that was thicker cause it was still doing the same thing with the stuffing that was in it originally after he added more in. Had me sit on it for a min which is hard to tell. Called him back after a day cause myself nor my husband could sit on it without our backs killing us cause it was so hard and different material. Also I had mentioned that since he put that in the end recliner was making a banging noise. He came back out and pulled out the thicker foam and added some other foam. The sectional is still sinking in a we were told noise from end recliner that was never there prior to him coming was a weight distribution problem, and nothing could be done. We were also told to buy lumbar cushions for our backs. He also told us we could add more foam. We didn't buy a couch to be adding foam to it, as we are not in the furniture repair business. After he left the first time he called me back cause he forgot to tack material under foot rest so was headed back. I called the owner back to let him know how disappointed we were. He was extremely rude telling me why would we call repair guy back after it was fixed and we signed paperwork that we were satisfied. Obviously no communication between them. I explained that I literally sat on it for less than a minute after he was done. He was well aware I had foot surgery and had to be on the couch. I was more than patient waiting over a month for someone to even come out. Every time I called back the owner would say I can't believe he didn't call you I'll email him again. The end result was we were told if we wanted it fixed he would send somebody here and we could pay for it! We are now stuck with this sectional that we have to put pillows behind our back just to sit for a short period. This has put a lot of mental stress on my healing process. We will never purchase another item from this business again. Make sure to get in writing the broken promises when you purchase.

Since having three main living area floors completed, I have had Century Tile remodel two of my bathrooms. These were complete remodels- floor, walls, vanity, sink, minor plumbing( toilet and faucets). Words cannot describe how pleasant it is to work with Mike and Christy. Christy always makes sure all materials are ordered and delivered on time prior to the job and can always be trusted to lean you in the correct direction both in terms of style and quality. Mike, their project coordinator, is beyond great. Just as with the first job, he is always a phone call or text away to answer any questions. He also send the best people he has to complete the job, both in terms of skills needed as well as adhering to your timeline. No matter how many jobs he has going, he consistently checks in with his workers and you to make sure items are going smoothly. Added onto this, the workers are not only skilled, but a pleasure to work with. They are professional, have always left the areas they are working on clean - even throughout the job- and communicate with you throughout the entire process. More importantly, they problem solve as needed to make sure the job is completed with exceptional quality! I am currently saving and working with Mike and Christy to have my shower/downstairs bathroom remodeled and cannot wait to have an updated shower and a beautiful downstairs bathroom! The Kitchen Studio popped up in my google search as being a local dealer of the specific higher end material I wanted. Upon arrival, an employee told me "they don't do just countertops". Okay. That isn't clear on their website. Then she went on to tell me she can't think of anywhere in the area to refer me that "just does counters". First, of all, there are at least 10 countertop fabricators within a 10 mile radius of Glen Ellyn. Someone in the industry should know this. Second, I'm sure the Kitchen Studio has an in house fabricator or they subcontract it out to someone local (most likely) and thus, why on earth would you not give this person my business??? I have a fairly large kitchen and master vanity. My quotes from the other local fabricators, who do, in fact, exist, are coming in at $120/sq foot and up. I'm giving 2 stars instead of one because all their kitchens on houzz are truly lovely and I'm sure if you hire them they would design a beautiful kitchen.

However when cost estimates were developed for contract signing for the project implementation phase, her personal fees were 3 times of what they should have been per our retainer agreement. When I pointed out the retainer terms, instead of correcting, they sent me a new retainer document and told me their process has changed. The change is permanent and sometimes there is a little fallout like this. These were Susan's words in her email to me. I took them to court ( case#2019SR000483 in Dupage county) to get my money back which I did. Susan herself is talented and personable but her business partner and company co-owner's dealings are disappointing and ignorant of basic business ethics. Susan kept saying he handles all money and pricing aspects. I had to walk away! Update 1/10/2020: I stand by my comments and the fact that you completely disavowed the terms of retainer and when I pointed out the pricing terms that we agreed to In the retainer, you emailed me a new retainer document with all pricing terms removed from it. I would have never signed anything or paid you $7k based on that new retainer devoid of any specifics. This was an act of complete lack of integrity. If you are serious about building reputation, practicing integrity will help. Good luck

The store generally has a high staff to customer ratio, on weekends anyway, so attention is pretty individualized when you form an idea. This is important: the sales approach is letting customers explore the product, there even toy-like wooden blocks for forming couch configuration ideas. This means sales folks introduce the product, encourage you to sit down in it, let you form ideas, then help actualize desires. The product is VERY customizable. Since it's a premium product, this seems like a good approach. The store is zen-like barebones-- it focuses on the two primary furniture products and a large rack in back for exploring fabrics. I suggest you drop by, and sit down.

Autistic people ask a lot of questions for clarity. It's not that we don't understand, it's that we have keen hearing and perception and mentally chart everything. We are direct, which may make it appear that we are rude. Things are black and white, we don't talk or live in the gray. If you contradict yourself, we will clarify what is accurate. If there are discrepancies we feel misled and lied to. We also have boundaries that we sometimes have to put in place. We can feel attacked, unsafe, and anxious when people get annoyed, interrupt and talk over us. I told her (asst mgr) I was getting frustrated and felt she was being argumentative. I also told her that I would like to interact with the manager who knew the details of my issue. Me being direct seemed to upset her more. She continued to address me and not respect my request. I didn't want to talk to her anymore because the back and forth with her was making me overstimulated. One thing I know for sure is, if she was the one asking for me to deal with someone else, I would have had no other option. I wanted that same respect. As I was leaving the store she sarcastically says "Have a nice day!" I responded "You have a nice f*cking day" at which she said I was banned. Which I then said "cancel my order." You can't gaslight and poke the bear and expect them to respond with pleasantries. Also, make sure she understands that 50% off is not the same as 30% off plus another 20% on top of that. $10x.50= $5 $10x.30=$7x.20=$5.60
